Imagine, 16 years old, 1978, top floor of the highest building in the city, in a former laundry room we had our fm radio. Night, the smell of cigarettes, the warm breath of the transmitter that filled the room and embraced us, this song was the theme song of the night program, intimate, relaxed, listeners' calls, pause, another cigarette, a trip to the terrace , the lights of the city formed a carpet 80 meters below us ... we felt capable of anything ... and now I'm just an old man digging youtube to be buried with memories ...

So viele Komponisten hatten diese Geräte zur Verfügung, doch nur Jean Michel Jarre wusste mit ihnen Musik zu machen. Musik, die auch Jahrzehnte später noch frisch und traumhaft schön klingt. Man fühlt sich wie auf einem fremden Planeten, auf dem alles friedlich zugeht.

Brought the Album Oxygen on Vinyl back in 1976 and loved it. Mates thought I was weird.They listened to Disco Duck back in the day. Jean Michel Jarre was well ahead of his time. Got me hooked on electronic Music to this very day :-)

You picked the worst exemple back in the day. I consider disco duck as a joke. Of course the disco era as a whole as great and mostly had great songs. The supremacy of disco doesn't devalue other genres of music with good songs.

Сильная музыка.Сегодняшнее поколение слушает и транс и техно,но совершенно не вдупляет от куда всё пошло.Конечно Жан был,и Слава Богу есть,не единственным исполнителем электронной музыки,но для меня лично,когда я услышал его в первые в 80-ых,это был космос).

У них старые аналоговые синтезаторы, они дают мягкий божественный звук, сейчас таких никто не использует, сейчас везде цифра , а она мёртвая.

@@user-cj2lu1to3l Не, ну я вообще про музыкантов в целом, раньше с 60х по 90х они все использовали только аналог потому что другого небыло, а сейчас все используют цифру , потому что всем плевать на аналоговый звук, и только лишь некоторые используют старые технологии с мягким звучанием. Некоторые современные исполнители сейчас вообще никакие инструменты не используют , только компьютер.

A friend introduced me me to him around 1979 and my soul has loved his music since then. It's magic and beautiful. I saw him once in Sweden, Gothenburg around 1995 I think. I fall asleep listening to his magic music a couple of times a week and will do as long as live❤️ Thanks for your magic melodies Jarre🙂

I was able to see him live at a concert in Dresden (Germany) 11 years ago. I was lucky to have a front row seat right in front of him. It was an absolute dream and I still get goose bumps when I think about the brilliant laser show and the sound. His music is simply timelessly beautiful. He is also a very likeable artist.

Imagine, 16 years old, 1978, top floor of the highest building in the city, in a former laundry room we had our fm radio. Night, the smell of cigarettes, the warm breath of the transmitter that filled the room and embraced us, this song was the theme song of the night program, intimate, relaxed, listeners' calls, pause, another cigarette, a trip to the terrace , the lights of the city formed a carpet 80 meters below us ... we felt capable of anything ... and now I'm just an old man digging youtube to be buried with memories ...

So viele Komponisten hatten diese Geräte zur Verfügung, doch nur Jean Michel Jarre wusste mit ihnen Musik zu machen. Musik, die auch Jahrzehnte später noch frisch und traumhaft schön klingt. Man fühlt sich wie auf einem fremden Planeten, auf dem alles friedlich zugeht.

@@MarquesJo71 questionable numbers for that concert. Brazil tends to embellish their concert numbers. We were on Copacobana beach for New Years 2013. Media in Brazil claimed millions were in attendance but there was barely half a million people, lol
I love this song. My daughter passed away a few years ago and the song reminds me of her spirit going to heaven, transforming to energy.

Brought the Album Oxygen on Vinyl back in 1976 and loved it. Mates thought I was weird.They listened to Disco Duck back in the day. Jean Michel Jarre was well ahead of his time. Got me hooked on electronic Music to this very day :-)

You picked the worst exemple back in the day. I consider disco duck as a joke. Of course the disco era as a whole as great and mostly had great songs. The supremacy of disco doesn't devalue other genres of music with good songs.

I played this album over and over in the 1970's I loved it , my mum hated it
1982/3/4 ? Lake of Annecy summer with two friends lying on one a jetty fully pissed then these guys gave a live concert. I had one of the first CD players. Bought this album immediately. Legends!!

Choice between Sorcerer (Tangerien D. ) and Body Love (KS) was for me difficulty that only number of parts has decide of... Poor childless opportunities,,, until Spiral and "To the Unknow Man"... A few days without MIDI-eating during my studies for each album...

Наталья, даже не хочется представлять, что вот платишь правительству взносы в пенсионный. А до пенсии, возможно, даже и не доживёшь. И самое главное- нас то и не спрашивали, и никто не протестовал против повышения пенсионного. А теперь с этой войной- то и подавно. Откуда на всех денег набрать?

У них старые аналоговые синтезаторы, они дают мягкий божественный звук, сейчас таких никто не использует, сейчас везде цифра , а она мёртвая.

@@user-cj2lu1to3l Не, ну я вообще про музыкантов в целом, раньше с 60х по 90х они все использовали только аналог потому что другого небыло, а сейчас все используют цифру , потому что всем плевать на аналоговый звук, и только лишь некоторые используют старые технологии с мягким звучанием. Некоторые современные исполнители сейчас вообще никакие инструменты не используют , только компьютер.

My first electronic music I listen was Tangerine Dream. After that I got hooked on electronic music. They dont play it on the radio to much. Thanks You Tube for posting. I like JMJ music especially. I close my eyes and float away its so relaxing.

A friend introduced me me to him around 1979 and my soul has loved his music since then. It's magic and beautiful. I saw him once in Sweden, Gothenburg around 1995 I think. I fall asleep listening to his magic music a couple of times a week and will do as long as live❤️ Thanks for your magic melodies Jarre🙂

So geht es mir auch. Habe seine Musik im Zug auf der Fahrt ins Internat gehört....man fühlt sich bei Musik die einen geprägt hat, sofort in die Zeit zurück versetzt. Es kommen erinnerungen hoch, die lange vergessen waren.
Régen hallottam ezt a művet. Még bakeliton volt meg nekem. Rengeteget hallgattam. Most nagyon örülök, hogy ismét hallgathatom az Oxigént. Szeretem az elektronikus zenét.

I was able to see him live at a concert in Dresden (Germany) 11 years ago. I was lucky to have a front row seat right in front of him. It was an absolute dream and I still get goose bumps when I think about the brilliant laser show and the sound. His music is simply timelessly beautiful. He is also a very likeable artist.
Awesome like Tangerine Dream. Kind of music that leave you to another world.
