I’m proud to say my wife and I got to see them in 1979. At one point, in the middle of them playing’ we are the robots’ , out walks...Kraftwerk. We’d been watching 4 robot automatons moving and playing the keyboards . The place went into total meltdown! Incredible band. Florian? Rest in peace you genius man. 🥰

I remember my dad showing this to me, since he used to listen to this type of music. Since i was born in 2007 I didn't grow up with this music, but when my dad showed me this, it was stuck in my head. I think more people should hear this masterpiece. I really like exploring these gems, that are not known in todays generation.

It’s actually cool having familiarity with Kraftwerk, you then start seeing how often they’re sampled. I used to love the song Sunshine by Jay Z when I was younger, not having any idea the sample was from a Kraftwerk track. I remember hearing Talk by Coldplay and recognized the melody instantly. Hell even Fergalicious by Fergie. Never expected to hear a Kraftwerk sample in that. They’re everywhere!

@@joncoish yeah the most bizarre, yet incredible thing is recognizing the sample in a song and thinking how it transcends all differents types of music! Most people think only rap and similar music use sampling for songs when in fact, it knows no boundaries! To hear something from a band like Kraftwerk make its way into something like a rap song for example is such a strange thought since they are polar opposite styles of music lol.

This song is 40 years old and it seems composed yesterday. Such a wonderful performance on this song!

i was 11 and i loved that immediately. I remember that my father was able to translate the morse on the fly (easy for this string) as former radio by the french army. He then impressed me for the first time with its memory capability for this exercice. Curious, i challenged him then further with other morse exercises he passed with ease, 20 years after the army..I realised then he was able to tell you all the king and queen of France since centuries, all main rivers and their sources and mountains and their heights, all main cities and departments. I learned afterwards he was one of the smartest boy of the region, confirmed by official records at that time but had to stop with 14 because of support. He then works on the roofs of Paris, repairing lifts and eventually after a long period of fight became head of human ressources of a local company, with many offers of being much more. He preferred to leave in a small town in its comfort zone, maybe afraid of what he could have been..At that time, my music teacher, supposed to open my eyes on the world, had no clue of Kraftwerk. Strange world.

El los 80s la EDM Concreta de Giorgio⚡Moroder (desde 1977) a partir de sus 3 géneros matrices (NRG, Synthpop, Electro) ya había ramificados a sus géneros primarios House, Techno, Synthpop, NRG, Freestyle, Italo, New Beat, Trance, Ácid, Electro, Eurobeat...incluida la base electronica primaria de la "ebm" y lo más sofisticado de la Electro Industrial.

Hundreds, even thousands of years from now, we'll still be listening to Kraftwerk.

Sie sind einfach die Beatles der elektronischen Musik. Diese Band überrascht mich immer wieder. Sowas von zeitlos. Bei manchen Tracks kann man gar nicht fassen, dass diese in den 70ern entstanden sind. Wenn man genauer hinhört, entdeckt man wirklich sehr schöne Melodien und Beats und es ist daher kein Wunder warum sie so viele Künstler beeinflussen. Kraftwerk ist wirklich ein echter Meilenstein.

A younger generation probably can't appreciate the simpler sounds of Kraftwerk, but if we put it into perspective how long ago the original song was made on those early synthesizer, it's truly a work of art.

Not true. I'm 15, and I got introduced to kraftwerk due to africa bambaataa. It's not as complex as modern techno, but it's beauty is the simplicity. A lot of songs, even back then, are pretty overproduced, the cold, almost minimal synths play a big part in capturing my imagination.

​@@CookieTheSmolFox Not mocking the "younger generation" at all, I was just surmising that nowadays with all the wonderful hard and soft synths even on a smart phone, one could make similar sounds, therefore this music might sound simplistic/minimalistic. However back in the 70's/80's it was much more difficult, some artists have even built their own custom gear (I've read Krafwerk did some too). Hope you don't take it the wrong way, and enjoy the music/art for what it is.

My grandpa introduced me to this song and now its one of my favourite songs

One of the most innovative and best original bands ever. They helped pioneer electronic music and the new wave and post modern music genres. I will forever give them credit for being so creative and influential. They are one of my favorite bands.

Fact: The beginning of this helped me through the Radioactive experiments part of my Science exam 6 years ago. I memorised it, and got a C in GCSE science. Thank you Kraftwerk 💖

Kraftwerk co-founder Florian Schneider has died at the age of 73. His fellow band member Ralf Huetter confirmed that Schneider "has passed away from a short cancer disease just a few days after his 73rd birthday." In his statement, Huetter hailed his bandmate as "his friend and companion over many decades." Schneider and Huetter founded Kraftwerk in Dusseldorf in 1970 and the band, known for tracks like Autobahn and The Model, was instrumental in the 'krautrock' movement.

I am literally crying! Kraftwerk is so timeless, it‘s amazing. I saw them live in Düsseldorf and they played radioactivity too. They are so incredible.

Solid gold. Wish I could have attended this concert. I was Ten when I heard 'Numbers' in the 80's as kid (12 years old I was a 'new-wave' fan completely) this along with the Cars shaped my musical taste for a lifetime. Thank god for college radio stations. This band influenced my music tastes for a lifetime. Hard to believe how much GOOD, diverse, and revolutionary music existed in the 80's.

Absolutely Brilliant! I so wish I had got to see them live. As a fan of the 80's and synth music from the very early 80's, I spent most of my teenage years following Depeche Mode and Erasure and only over the last 10 years, have I been slowly catching up getting to see all my favourites from the 80's, live. This is a perfect example of why Andy McCluskey from OMD, says that Kraftwerk had shown him and Paul Humphreys, the future of electronic music....and here it is!

These guys were suppose to tour here in Minnesota for 2020, sadly that was cancelled. And then after that we lost a great member of the band, R.I.P. Florian!

Of all the electronic music i ever heard, No-one else ever comes close to Kraftwerk, Jean MIchelle Jarre, and Georgio Moroder. It´s just bonkers how they hit the scene and at a level that no-one has surpassed to this day.

El inicio del tema si empieza con el característico, añejo y rústico ruido Dusseldorft & Krautrock de Kraftwerk. PD: Radioactivity parte del Einzelganger de Moroder (inicios de 1975).

AHS season 11 brought me here.....

It's ironic that more people today don't understand what a pioneer he was. That's because the sounds that Kraftwerk brought to the world have become commonplace in music today. I remember listening to "Autobahn" in 1979. It was truly astonishing. I'd never heard anything like it.

masterpiece never be beaten fucking class..I was 9 when I bought this in 1975 ...it's was all glam rock and the bay city rollers then ...I'm 52 now and still play this to death ..kraftwerk are total genius ...most influential band of all time

Im glad some of the more experimental music got you through the horrible disco era. Raised on a diet of pink floyd, led zep and zappa, kraftwerk offered an interesting tangent from mainstrream music without compromising quality.

Anytime, any year, since I was born until present (33yo now) at least one kraftwerk song plays in my mind then I have to play it out loud on each type of speaker/headphones, anything powerful and in surround. I had a small hip-hop/rock period but still played kraftwerk. They made me somehow who I am, born on pick-ups and vinyls, feeling very sad that I lost one of the vinyls...anyway, Rip Florian you're like Bowie to me, both from outter space! And never forgotten

Seriously? How much was ''live''??? Admittedly the sound quality was superb as were the visuals - but I suspect 90% is off the computer.

BBC 2 playing this one night. With friends. Way back. Stoned. Have never seen a reaction from a song within my friends. They all truly love the light. God bless them all.

One of the best examples of electronic music ever performed - visually and above all sonically. Simply perfect. Pure goosebumps.

I was searching about radioactivity and a lot of disasters that happened and immediately remembered of this music. It's so amazing and relaxing, even treating about a quite important theme. So sad when I ask for people if they know this group and nobody do. They did a great job.
