JCROffroad Uniframe Tie-in Kit and Steering Spacer - XJ Cherokee
In this video I'll show you how to install the Jeep Cherokee Uniframe Tie-In Kit and Steering Spacer from JcrOffroad. The Tie in kit is a must to reinforce the weak XJ unibody when adding a heavy bumper and winch. It keeps the frame from ripping while winching and abusing your XJ. The steering spacer is also a great addition as it replaces the stock aluminum spacer with a heavy duty steel version. The aluminum one is know to break in which case you will have no steering.

We’re about to install a steering box brace and upgrade our spacer. Your video is helping us with this immensely! And the ending is hilarious! - That’s why you’re so awesome ❤️🐞
Can't get enough of bleepinjeep videos
Definitely like the way you break it down. I have been showing these to my son and he likes the humor and he's learning.
Great video. The comical relief is what I love about your channel.
Hands down, you do have the best videos
Best xj how to vids on youtube.
I think these brackets might be the answer to my prayers. My right front got a little messed up after getting hit and i was wonder howni was gonna reattach a new bumper 🙌🙌🙌
would like to see how you mount your bumper. I have a C4x4 front bumpre and the mounts are very tight to the outside of the "frame". It also goes further back than the three bolts on the front that the stock bumper attaches to.
lol that ending is the best so far
w40k reference was gold!
With the beefier steering spacer, would you still recommend a steering brace? If so, what size tires would you need one?
got the steel steering box spacer. i've watched your video several times as jcr doesn't have any instructions for this job. not having much mechanical knowledge, this simple job is intimidating. at least to me. since I need to replace the steering box, and track bar too, it's probably best for me to take this job to a mechanic rather than spiel a bunch of expletives. taking it to a stealership is out of the question though.

at 68 I'm learning about Jeeps. learning that owning one is expensive. even leaving it stock.
Just picked up a 89 Cherokee. The wiring harness is all hacked up. Maybe you could do a video on a install/removal of a wiring harness?
I have a 99 XJ to do the projects u covered.
Thinking about replacing your sway bars lol, gonna change mines soon and add wheel spacers too I bought 31s and my jeep is still stock getting 3inch lift later too lol
What does JCR charge for that kit??
Your abilities to do what you do are nothing short of amazing. At least in my opinion. Any Jeep owner that lives near you, I envy. I'm positive you would be able to help me cure my 99 XJ of the dreaded death wobble. Even the small shimmies & shakes. Keep doing what you're doing.
my jeep doesn't run. can you do a video on that? wth is wrong with some of these comments? nice video on the roof rack.
Torque for Steering Box Bolts is 65 ftlbs
Where can I get the all new nut and bolt set you have here?
I don't see a need to cut off that support bracket. Drill a hole in the plate and bolt it through.
This Tie In kit or a steering box brace? Who's best?
I needed this. Just got an EAG full width winch bumper and am gathering perspective for what to expect. Not a plug n play. I've learned critical stuff and will order this kit. Those unsvare shit. That's what I like bout my Toy crawler and our GeoTracker. Body on serious box tub frames. These paper weight Jeeps just need a real frame built under them. What does that kit cost. A must do. I will put pipe spacers in place for compression protection. . Been following you since you got your first Cherokee. Dandahermit
Aren't these going to interfere with installing a bumper?
Q: how to improve steering cheaply. Mine is a bit loose. I think its cause my last off road trip, I worked the power steering way to much.
How do you install passenger side with no bolts on that side?
why no impact or speed gun? makes bolts in and out way faster
Can i use the same 3 old bolts if i lost 3 new bolts for the steering box
Haha that ending was awesome. When'd you get the new cherokee?
I've never, ever seen that steering box spacer come out in less than three pieces. Are you a wizard?

What abaut this coils?. Are different then my
Took me like 10 seconds to line up steering box bolts by hand
Bought my xj with a broken steering box spacer so i put this same exact one you have. First wheeling trip i broke all 3 bolts holding it.... why? Which is crazy to me. I ended up putting the steer spacer on the outside now and then i put a u-bolt around the box its self. So far its been really good. But until i change the box to a bigger one this will have to do. Also. Not sure how bad it is to run the box without the spacer in between but like i said so far no issues.

it needs a spacer... did you use grade 8 bolts?
do you have a template?
you crack me up lol. Awesome job
I don't understand why jcr didn't just cut a slot where the fender brace bolts up?
@dre04mach

it would be a pain to angle that big bracket up over the slot needed; because of the size of the bracket.
Do you have a template?
I have a 96 jeep cherokee classic. Trying to figure out how to bend the frame to the bumper back

Mountain Noobs I found a 92 with 113000 miles on it for $3400. Is it a good price? It's got a Clean motor from a 94 and looks like its been really well cared for.

Can the stock bumper be temporarily remounted until a new bumper is purchased with this kit?

What reason would you have to mount these without an aftermarket bumper?
@frantinoro
8 жыл бұрын
+BleepinJeep I was under the impression they stiffened the frame rails AND allowed aftermarket bumper mounting
What are those “do dads” you took off front mounting points called? Mine broke...
