Appreciate video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good exclusive product for learning piano fast without the headache. I love the way you break this stuff down and demystify it for classically trained students. It would be awesome if this exact progression of lessons existed as a 'learning track' on your site. I just picked up a membership recently and am having a ton of fun with the 'How to Improvise With The X Scale' courses.

WOW, this style of teaching is EXACTLY what I've needed! A complete yet succinct overview, giving ME control to identify areas of weakness and dive into them. With highly capable learners that have a decent but patchy foundation of understanding, so much time is wasted by trickling information in a sequential manner. This demystifies the more advanced levels that I haven't gotten to yet, but now have in my sights. THANK YOU!

Amazing 🤩 this is so good to know where I am in my playing and what I need to do. I tend to play 7th chords in the different inversions on my right hand and might add a run. Kinda randomly to be honest but occasionally hit some nice sounding stuff. This explains what is happening and really helps me on the theory. Thanks loads!!

I am an older guy who listened to all kinds of music during my life, and now, I am beginning to learn the inner workings. I have just learned to play the 12 majors and the notes on the staff. Your example of these jazz sounds was excellent, especially tying the sounds to the known players who used them. I found this video to be encouraging, if a little daunting. Because my dad is now 101 years old, I know that I will have decades to get this down, along with a firm foundation in classical. Well done.

I went back to playing classical piano and hit a great many 7th chords both in the Classical and Boroque period pieces. So I may take a break and relax with some jazz after listening to your 10 steps video. I am sure it will help with the Classics I am tackling too. I just wish my brain were as sharp as before - now that I have hit 74. You play wonderfully so -thank you for your fabulous, exciting and inspiring video, Jonny.

You don't have to complete each step perfectly to move onto the next step. Some keys will always be harder than others, only because you will spend more time in certain keys. I actually started learning jazz at step 6 (A and B voicings) because I needed to play with others in class immediately. The teacher gave me those to just to get me started. Do I know all my minor scales in every key instantly? No, but that doesn't keep me from playing and having fun while I learn more.
