I am a member of Piano with Jonny too and I am learning this song over there . Great place to learn piano. Infact I have quit several online websites in favor of theirs. The downloadable backing beats and smart sheet music make practicing so much fun. Worth every penny. And instructional videos like these can not be beat. Cheers

Then, bringing it all home to the beginning. I repeated it all to understand the major, major 7th, 11th, and so on. How hopeful I would feel to have these kinds of instruction learning many more songs. (And also learn typing as well!)

Very clear and useful as usual. I have to admit that I had ten years ago a very good teacher of harmony at University in Nice, it was very difficult at the time because I had no idea about harmony, but now I am so happy about the work I did. Next step now it is to put into practice that knowledge, which is esier to say than to do. Thanks anyway, amazing teaching

It sounds great. I feel the most important aspect of your lesson is showing the rest of us the method of turning any song into a much richer tune by using all those seventh, diminished or whatever other more complex chords. I doubt I will ever be able to use this method to jazzify some of my favorite simple songs. Nevertheless, it's a real pleasure listening to your performance and teaching efforts. Thanks a lot. Best wishes.

Thank you John! We are adding an "extension" or additional note above the Dm7 chord to make it DFACE. The E is what we call the 9th. It works nicely because the E is the melody.
