Jayden Daniels - Episode #2 | Kurt Warner Breaks Down the Game Tape | College Series '24

Спорт

Welcome back into my college series of StudyBall as we continue working towards the draft. We have seen Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and this week, we are going to Jayden Daniels. We try to split the tapes into two to give you an umbrella of questions that we might see answered in the NFL. Last time we dove into tape against Alabama. Now we are taking a look at his game against Ole Miss.
A Lot of really good processing from Daniels on this tape. Some are better than others. Sometimes when you see guys miss, you ask why? These are the things that are impossible to understand by just watching tape. Hopefully this gives you a better picture! #jaydendaniels #lsufootball #nfldraft

Kurt Warner actually has a great QB mind. I’m not surprised honestly, but I am impressed with his ability to analyze situations differently than most QB’s. You gained a fan of your knowledge Mr Warner. You were a hell of a QB as well.

How? By under throwing or overthrowing? His receivers are elite. They win all over the place. He's a backup NFL QB throwing to Pro Bowl receivers in his 5th year against college players. Unless he goes to the Chicago Bears, he will have a worse career than Justin Fields. His tape is bad.

I think those inside out reads are all based on the easiest throw is directly in front of you or the shorter throw. So if its open, take it. Especially if the safety is deep and the linebacker don't jump that route. its open alllll day. I do understand the outside throw is technically the better throw and has a bigger chance of a big play. Also, the coaches may tell him to take the inside throw because the QB isn't as proficient at throwing to a flat receiver coming out the backfield. So you tell him inside out to hide his flaws but you also keep the 5th guy in route to the defense can play honest

What Daniel’s doesn’t do well his keep his head up and looking down field once the pocket breaks down or his initial read isn’t there. Numerous times when he starts to run, prior to him getting past the line he has guys open downfield but never seems to be looking and just runs. Perhaps he will improve on this, and obviously can get away with it as he can run really well.
