Shannon Elizabeth, who played Justice, was also in American Pie. She was the the one that was on camera on the internet with Jason Biggs' character. It was a blink and you'll miss it moment in this movie but they reference that scene when they run into Jason and James in the dressing room. Jay talks about how he would get with her and his love interest here is played by her. Smith was really all about the references.

Judd Nelson shows up in a later movie as a sheriff. Joey Adams shows up with her sister Trish the Dish. This was described as Dogma without the religion. This was ruined when like every other halfway decent movie it was remade in the uninspired Jay and Silent Bob Reboot which is about what happened to the angel Loki from Dogma.

Joe Quesada is a comics legend and one of the best editors-in-chief Marvel ever had. Great artist, too. But another thing about him: he is almost solely responsible for the breakout success of the Nintendo Entertainment System in America. For all intents & purposes, he's the guy that brokered the deal to get the NES into U.S. toy stores. Seriously! Check out his interview on Cartoonist Kayfabe.

The cast has said that this movie was som much fun to shoot that they almost didn’t get it done. Look up the outtakes, Affleck and Damon almost die laughing. Also Jennifer Schwabach-Smith filmed behind the scenes and they turned the footage into a documentary called “ A Lovely Tea Party” which I believe can be found in KZread

I'm STILL catching references in this movie. Watching your reaction, I just realized the facility they free Suzanne from is called "Provasic", which is the drug from the movie "The Fugitive". Then they end up in the dam, like the scene in that movie as well (which I knew was a Fugitive reference already, but I just realized the "Provasic" part).

It was a real thrilling movie, completely different from KS's other films. By the way, his wife was the one with the pigtails. He transitioned from Dogma's "tell don't show" approach to this one, which was all about "show don't tell." This change was made possible by a significantly larger budget. Unlike Dogma, where everyone worked on SAG scale and had to deal with tight scheduling, this movie had the luxury of planning ahead for a smooth shooting process. The setups were simple, typically using two or three cameras capturing a 50mm spherical frame. The lighting was evenly distributed with softer bounced lighting, creating minimal shadows or harsh lights. Directed light sources were used to enhance the scenes. This is how you shoot films with a bigger budget, focusing on concise dialogue and short, impactful scenes to maintain the movie's momentum. Instead of lengthy dialogue scenes where characters talk incessantly for 20 minutes, this film employed classic rapid setups and payoffs in mere 10 seconds of film time. For example: "c'mon Silent Bob, we're going to Hollywood." HARD-CUT, BUS STATION, DAY, CONTINUOUS Jay and Silent Bob quickly board and then disembark from a bus. "Hey, didn't we used to take that bus to school for free every day?" HARD-CUT, THE ROAD, DAY, CONTINUOUS Jay and Silent Bob stick out their thumbs, attempting to hitch a ride. These rapid scenes efficiently convey information, whereas in Dogma, there was a drawn-out bus ride scene discussing infidelity in relationships that lasted for ten minutes, ending with the angel of death shooting a sinner in the head. From a storytelling perspective, the script didn't change the beginning or end of the scene. The angels were still on their way to the church, and nothing significant impacted that outcome. This scene was included purely because the writer (Smith) wanted a low-budget scene, with the producer being the only other actor while extras received $150 per diem. As a result, many scenes were overwritten, when a simpler action scene could have conveyed the same information in a more engaging manner. Movies should not be mere talking photographs. However, when your budget is limited, you have no other option. This movie had the necessary budget, and I believe it wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable with a smaller budget.

I agree, this film is one of my favorites by Kevin Smith. However, it's only up there because I've seen all his previous movies. So I get all of the references. All of the cameos and throwbacks to his previous films. There's actually even more cameos than you realize if you look close enough. Also, Shanelle. You have an amazing smile. And I love your reaction videos when you watch a fun movie, because you smile a lot more during them.

For people who can't get enough of this movie, the book Silent Bob Speaks by Kevin Smith goes into a lot of detail about the casting process for this film, it is a fascinating read(if somewhat colored by time and the Weinstein connection, which adds a whole new layer to some stories that wasn't evident to the masses at that time)

The introduction of Shannon Elizabeth's character in the Mooby's was supposed to be accompanied by Prince's _The Most Beautiful Girl in the World_ His attempts to secure the rights for the song led to Kevin Smith staying in Paisley Park for a week. Kevin talking about his interactions with Prince during this stay are hilarious and worth a watch if you can find it uploaded anywhere (Kevin Smith since drew back from some of his (to be perfectly honest entirely valid) criticisms of Prince following his unfortunately early demise).

Kevin Smith done an homage to his favourite TV show from back in the day 'Land of the Lost', where the main characters' names are Marshal, Will and Holly. So he named Will Ferrell's character Marshal Willenholly. and then I guess life imitating art, Will Ferrell ended up starring in the movie Land of the Lost.

As much as I personally love Dogma Jay and Silent Bob Strike Bake was probably the highpoint of the View Askew Universe. This one tied everything together that we loved about the other movies, connected all of the other movies together and probably had more cameos and better supporting cast then any of the other Kevin Smith movies.
