You can tell javier is the most down to earth guy ever. I remember before the slap chris rock was joking at the Oscars that if javiers wife didnt win an award he better not win either! Lol and javier was dying laughing
No Country For Old Men, Skyfall, Dune. Javier is such a heavyweight in the industry.
he seems so humble and just like a chill and talented actor to talk to, loved this ep and their dynamic 😂
I cannot be any happier for Gourley! The man deserves everything he gets.
Sona is the best laugh track you could have!
Idk why I was expecting him to be menacing in real life. He was such a funny and wholesome person. One of the best episodes of the Pod. 😂
Sona still losing it at the end when everybody else has moved on is my spirit animal
Oh well this is a nice combo I didn’t expect!
Playing the hero is one thing, but impersonating a villain in a convincing and truly frightening kind of way - that is a completely different kind of level. "No Country for Old Men" was such a good movie and Javier lent his face to that iconic psycho killer in such a stunning and unforgettable way. For me, personally this was his best villainous role ever (which is pretty hard to top), hands down👍👍👍
Cannot get over how much joy Bardem brings to this podcast. Have watched several clips, and I am hard pressed to remember seeing Team Coco light up quite so much.
Sona laughing always does it for me. She doesn't have to even say a word. Just laugh and my day is better.

Gorgeous man with a gorgeous voice. Could listen to him talk all day.
Petition to have one of the James Bonds on the podcast just to see Gourley fanboy.
I really loved that scene where he's telling bond why he went evil or whatever the feeling of pain that he conjures is so real and then when he removes the prosthetic and youre faced with the reality of the situation hes gotta be the most fleshed out Bond villain ever (its the only one ive seen dont shoot)
Gourley is so happy
"Oh, Mr. Bond." His delivery of that line was so great.
This just settled into my top 3 favourite episodes. I'd also love to see Pedro Pascal on the podcast. Latin actors are killing it, as usual!

I thought Skyfall was fine, not bad not great. Javier was absolutely a highlight. Daniel Craig's Casino Royale is probably the best bond movie in my book, though The Living Daylights deserves a shout and I think Tomorrow Never Dies is actually pretty strongly structured and underrated.
I first saw him 20 years ago in a film called Perdita Durango with Rosie Perez. Crazy voodoo film.
How can Chigur be so sweet?!
Sona when Javier was talking about caressing Daniel Craig’s breast: Yessssss
Sona got me at the end... When she lost it, I lost it. 😆
He was mesmerizing in No Country For Old Men. Amazing movie.
Such a great interview! I could listen to them for hours (already listened to the episode twice)
I have to agree with Conan and Matt - Javier stole the show in Skyfall for me, which to this day, remains my favorite James Bond movie of ALL-TIME.
I love skyfall, and I really love Bond movies. BUT BUT BUT, No Country for Old Men, Anton Chigurh redined movie villians. Honesty one of the greatest villians in cinamatic history.
Wouldn't it be awesome if Conan go to Spain to visit Javier. When Javier open the door, Brad Pitt also there with Javier.
The conan-james bonding podcast cross over I've been waiting for

Klaus Maria Brandauer is a better bond villain than jb imo. Gerd Fröbe is also amazing.
Yeah he was a very very compelling villain, I mean I’m so glad someone else brought this up
Javier Bardem has played some of the most intimidating, terrifying, and incredible characters I've ever seen. I don't know why it makes me want to cry seeing him be so cool and friendly and easygoing.
You know it's serious when Matt shaved and wore a real shirt (i.e. not Danjaq related).

I really enjoyed this one, even though I have never seen his movies.

Just showed my 14 year old son No country for old men last week. Such a fantastic movie all around, the whole cast is perfect. But man, Bardem is other worldly. My son said “Just looking at this guy makes me uncomfortable.” lol he does such a good job of making you uneasy every time he’s on screen.
@Indy_21

To a 14 year old? But, isn't this movie quite violent? Haven't seen it, just a scene maybe, but, as an adult (supposedly I am one), I still dread seeing this movie given its reputation of being very violent. So, that a 14 year old could see it... I've seen "Drive", would you compare the violence? Is it like a Tarantino movie, with exploding bits etc? I do get the feeling of "uncomfortable" when seeing Javier like that though.
@LKT1215

@@Indy_21 it is not Tarantino type violence. Very straight forward shoot outs and whatnot. He’s a few days from 15 and he’s very mature. He could handle it.
@jfox24

@@Indy_21 the movie is incredibly tense. There is no soundtrack so you just feel on edge, especially when Javier Bardem is on screen. It's pretty tame as far as the amount of violence, but there are 2 scenes that stick out to me as being particularly brutal. It's more the fact that the violence is so unceremonious. It's not stylized at all, it happens suddenly, and is over quite quickly. It's one of my favorite movies because of his performance. I think Drive is gorier but about on par with brutality.
I was so curious during the whole movie whether it was "Silva" or "Silver" on account of the English accents haha.
He could do standup.
Conez, i did not see Goldfinger JUST PETTING THE CAT...you forget...he was a hands on villian...only Blofeld pet the cat
man this is some funny stuff
Definitely best Bond villain
I can’t stop thinking about that fan correction on how Conan says Javier’s name
Conan they are saying ma'am not mum lol
He should have, at the very least, been nominated for his Supporting role in Skyfall. The fact that he was not makes any nomination for any other actor in any movie meaningless.
is it me, or the video quality doesnt feel like 1080 or even 720p ? just wondering
Bardem ia playing a major role on Dune, that will be eternalized
I'm sure there's competition but what makes NCFOM villain so unique is that the hero isn't a match for him. Forget skills, criminality wise no-one in that movie balances him out. In Dark Knight for that maniacal Joker there's a stoic Batman. But the whole point in NCFOM is that he's the next level of evil which these folks could not even comprehend.
If Javier's rule led him to Conan..of what use was that rule to begin with?
