In this case Boehly is not to blame. There's a reason why Egbali, Stewart and Winstanley are prominently being mentioned in most reports whilst Boehly has remained silent. Boehly recently backed the team and Poch's performance as well as took him out for a personal dinner prior to all of this. Boehly may be the public face but there's too many decision makers behind the scenes and something worrying is clearly brewing. I'm gutted to think that we ousted Poch because of disputes in player sales and wanting to keep our academy players. That's crazy to think that's one aspect a manager should have the ultimate say in. He wasn't asking for more players but fighting to keep the ones that we have. He simply wanted more say in players which is a fair ask. Surely we should all have a say in what resources we have available in our jobs, same applies here. We've just pushed out a manager who was trying to uphold the club's culture. Strangely enough he was the one person who understood what Chelsea is and Roman's vision of having a brimming academy is finally being realised. The club has now embraced Reece James as the undisputed club captain (rightfully or wrongfully), we've put him front and centre of the team yet it was Poch's decision in the first place; now it seems as if it was always destined to be. Fans and pundits alike were pining for Silva or someone more experienced to be captain yet Poch understood the long term vision. He was trying to develop a homegrown/English-oriented captaincy and hierarchy within the squad with James, Chilwell, Gallagher, Colwill and Chalobah being the lynchpins. For years we were mocked for solely having continental players now we're sacking a manager for wanting to establish a fundamentally English core. He's given debuts to Alfie Gilchrist, Michael Golding, Alex Matos, Josh Acheampong and Leo Castledine, in his first season, more than any other previous manager, under arguably the most tumultuous conditions. What makes this all the more disappointing is that previous years under Roman we felt as if every sacking was ultimately in order to course-correct, in this case it seems as if we're just steering ourselves into uncharted waters with many fighting for the wheel. Poch knew the league and now knew his team, whoever we get would need another adjustment period. Plus even then, what guarantees would have that he won't be sacked for a above-average season? The entire team wanted the manager to stay. Even under the great Tuchel, Conte and Mourinho we had players fall out with them, not with Poch. This is the odd occasion in our history where the team had more faith in the manager than the board. If anything the player's opinion should matter most as they are the ones who work with him daily. Players can never truly buy into a manager's tactics now because their opinion is not valued by the higher-ups. Eventually the players will develop their own "player power mentality" since the managers will be an ever revolving door whilst they're the constants. Poch developed into a father figure for this young crop, helping them develop their games. That's what Fergie did all too well. He may not have been the "winning-mentality" manager we needed long term but he was the right coach for right now. The next manager will be likely be stoic and cold because he'll be fighting for his job from day-one, no patience for these young lads, he'll get frustrated and leave, then the cycle continues again. Just gutted.

Somehow claiming we're not headed in the right direction is ignoring what's been right in front of you for the last six months. Since Jan 2023 the owners and directors have done nothing but improve this team from a personnel perspective. Poch helped mold that talent into a unit, now we are in need of a football mind to turn this unit into a footballing juggernaut. Many of you are choosing to ignore the plan because it's unfamiliar. As Denzel said, boom and bust rollercoaster football is a losing strategy in today's age. You have build and building is a non-linear process. Pochettino was not happy with the setup with the sporting directors, so in a way it makes sense that he moved on. The head coach has to be totally onboard with the situation, accepting that he is only there to coach and prepare tactics, understanding he’s not to have input over transfers and general club direction. An argument in support of Egabali and his sporting directors, is that Barcelona structured their club around a certain possession style of football, which their youth players were schooled in (the Cruyff style). Having an in-house style of approach means that it’s not dependent on any manager, who can get sacked any time and essentially saddle the club with HIS players - that a future manager doesn’t fancy. I kind of understand it. Chelsea might be setting a new trend?

Also hearing the fantastic news today about Unai signed a new 5 year contract commiting himself to Aston Villa fc till 2029,it brings us stability long term & while others are in search of a new manager & there isn't many good ones around or available right now,we have an elite coach/manager who's done some incredible work already & he's completely committed to Villa & in total control of Villas football side of the business with a great team around him that he knows very well & trusts, also he has a great relationship with our owners who are backing him to the maximum & have no limit in their big ambitions for our great club. At Villa we have complete unity & everyone top to bottom is on the same page, it's great to be a Villa fan nowadays & Unai Emery is loved/respected by our fans,we have a great connection, one big happy family at Aston Villa fc.... up the mighty Villa!!

Pochettino's tactics left the team vulnerable in many situations throughout the season, and he made no adjustments. There were many problems: his unwillingness to change tactics early during the game, late substitutions where players coming on couldn't get in rhythm, and the team's lack of discipline. While he ranked highly in chances created, his tactics ranked low in most other areas for a top club. He had to go.

People constantly give away their lack of knowledge on Chelsea when they talk about Boehly running the club and signing players, you're just parroting media narratives, we have directors running the club, with a scout network that rivals anyone's now, the irony of saying in the long term we are going to falter when this is the first time in a long time Chelsea has had a long term vision approach to running the football club. If you compared our footballing structure to what we had previously we are in a much better place, but hearing that for most fans would sound like drivel, but it's true, and it will all become clearer for you in the long term, not only will we be back competing for titles we are going to be far more consistent in doing so than we ever were under Roman, something most people completely overlook when it comes to Romans ownership.

Don't be so negative what if maresca does well, may get worse before it's gets better but if Chelsea are going down this route then they need to stick with him. I didn't think poch was a good choice at first but he was slowly improving and letting him go wasn't the right decision. All down to boehly this I'm not even trolling or being nasty to chelsea here

McKenna just signed his Ipswich new contract. He must have only wanted the Chelsea job who told him today Chelsea wouldn't be interested in him at this stage of his development but for future appointments. Who knows if that made him sign this improved contract.. Maybe Chelsea get Maresca, sack him mid season and then pay a big release clause for McKenna then once he has a bit or premier league experience.

This idea often comes up that football is different to other sports and that you can't be successful by using data, analytics, etc. I think the only people who say this are those who have no understanding of how that works. Elite level sports teams and individuals use all the data they can get hold of and they use every tool they can lay their hands on to understand it. The directors at Chelsea are totally invested in this idea and they will undoubtedly make the club more successful. Exactly how much success they will achieve can't be predicted and that's the part that keeps the fans invested. However, for the directors it's about running a successful business. To believe that they have no idea what they're doing and just making things up as they go along is a view informed by ignorance.

Only 2 years are down under this ownership. They have completely changed the culture or in the process of changing it, a whole restructuring is happening. This needs Patience, when all the dust settles maybe in the 5 year, and everything goes according to plan then Chelsea will become a stable club. It's a big IF, ik. And Things could horribly go wrong but their vision is not hard to understand. And VISION like that takes time to see results. Let's comeback next season and if this chelsea team under this manager falls below 6th, then we can confidently say this was another failure. But if they go from 6th to 5th or higher then there is progress and if they achieved constant CL finishes after that then you'll finally see the vision.

Man we are losing identity. Now we will play a "death by thousand pass" / boring football. Being not native to the UK, Chelsea's direct football made me fall in love with this team. We dont have the star power of city to break the low blocks and i have never seen tiki taka bullshit win titles with just 11 players on the pitch (you have to buy the refs like barcelona did). Pretty skeptical on this recruitment
