Time is the most expensive currency. While money can't buy freedom, having enough money to not only meet your basic needs, like food or shelter, it gives you the freedom to choose what you want to do, when you want to do it. Tired of your boss or job? You'll have the freedom to quit, if you want, which makes any job more palatable.
