To be honest I think why fans and new group respect them so much is because they not only success as group but also as soloist and their individual project, its very rare to see idol group with many members like them to have each members establish their own name in entertainment world without their group label on it, its one of our flex as fans, also it still funny to see when some K-drama fans get shock to know that their fav actress is actually an idol let alone in same group. You gotta check out their Japanese music. All their good songs are Japanese songs, especially the B-sides. They are just SO GOOD!

Back then many people kinda dismissed them considering they the first GG to have a 9 member at 2007 (back then most of GG have 5-6 member), they also get so much hate from fangirls especially SM BG fans since they Fangirl felt it was so unfair snsd can close to their idol (i mean 😬) and one of the sad moment was when the group got a black ocean (meaning the fans turned off the lightstick so the stage arena look like an empty space) It was crazy back in 2007-2008 hwv it changes in 2009 cause they make history to won 8/9(sorry i forgot) consecutive week music award show from Gee! (it broke by Psy when Oppa Gangnam Style came) And from 2010 they raise to popularity, a lot of people love them, admire them, and u should check on their performance of The Boys oh my god it was such an amazing thing for GG to get so much love ... Until now they still considered as one of the blueprint of many GG (along side with 2NE1 and Wonder Girls), 2nd GG definitely the reason why GG now can survive in the industry, because without their success we may not see our fave today (just sayin')

I do think you'll enjoy Seohyun's solo song "Don't Say No." It's a bop and my favorite solo song among the girls. I do agree that Yuri's vocals are gravitating because she has that sexy husky voice.
