We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.
-
THANK YOU ❗️

Between this video and the one about the fast food restaurants, my desire to go back is only further fueled. I was absolutely blown away by the 7-11s, all the food we had at various restaurants, and the vending machines...oh man! Actual HOT coffee (different varieties, with and without cream/sugar and all as lovely as Sam says) came out of the same vending machines as cold drinks. And the variety of beverages in each machine, just so wonderful! Plus, the vending machines with the different beers and liquor in them...come on! I actually made an unnatural sound remembering the yakitori chicken and the Asahi.

Back in a previous job I would have to travel to China for weeks at a time. I only agreed to it when my boss agreed that I could spend a weekend on my return trip in Tokyo. One of the first trips I mentioned this to my coworker from Hong Kong, and he jumped at the chance to go to Japan as he usually went through HK. It was easy to justify as I had business in Tokyo and could have a Friday meeting. Honestly I always made it very affordable. The fun memory is eating the chicken guts pieces (gizzards, livers, hearts, etc) at the Izukaya that he had ordered but suddenly balked at. Great times and looking forward to another post-COVID trip back

Yeah, he’s being the worst kind of gaijin in this video. It’s guys like this that make everyone else’s life harder. Even just the way he’s dressed with his flip flops is really problematic. How about you learn 25 words in Japanese for different foods and asking questions. These guys were the bane of my existence when I lived in Japan.

In Japan manners are really important and he didn't finish his homework. He did something similar to a Japanese person coming to Europe/western countries and inhaling snot up the nose instead of blowing it or slurping food. Or taking stupid peace sign one-second pictures in front of Rembrandt's "Nightwatch", in cathedrals, etc.

Wow! 7 Elevens in Japan know how to do snack food right. It is like who can be the best! My family wants to go to Japan and Korea in two years' time for about 2 weeks in each country. So excited to try all the wonderful food.

Any chance of a video with the egg and rice recipe? It seems simple, but I imagine there are several options including the beef stew. Would love to try it at home. Thanks for all you do!

I could move to Japan and have 7-11 food everyday. Also mall supermarkets & train station supermarkets in Tokyo are amazing, heavily discounted feast meals 1 hour before closing time

Sam - just moved to Iwakuni Japan, and Kewpie mayo was included in our first grocery haul. We always see you use it and recommend it but had never had it until now. This is the best mayo out there! Thank you for introducing it to us. If you are ever in Iwakuni Japan, let us know! Keep doing what you're doing!
