She's 85, not 105. It's not typical to not be sharp enough to recall things at that age. My grandparents are in their 90s and are just as sharp as her. It's funny how so many people expect older people to be.

I think they were trying to say it was impressive that she's done so much in all that time and is able to remember it all so clearly. I'm 25, and I don't think I could remember major moments in my life like she can with such detail.

This was just epic. I couldn't take my eyes off her. I'm also currently reading Jane's autobiography. What a woman 🌹

The story behind "On golden pond" is so moving. Reconciling with your own past is really powerful and demonstrative of how beautifully intrincate human relationships can be. And she did it using as a medium what bonded both her and her father: movies.

In her documentary, Jane says that her father liked to rehearse everything before filming, but she decided to improvise something. After her father delivered his lines in the scene where they discuss their relationship, she touched his arm unexpectadly and he had to cover his face because he started crying. Very moving indeed.

I did not know that about her father.. I too had a father that shared very little emotions and love with his daughter.. May he rest in peace now..I know I have!

she is so amazing, what a LIFE she has had! She saw so much, did so much, learned and pushed herself. Most of us never do HALF the living she did with the energy she did it with.

she just has, and always had the ability to transfer true emotion through the camera. even her interviews make me tear up.

She should get the Kennedy center honor this year. She defied the establishment and became one of the few actresses that had portrayed three dimensional female characters back in the 60s and 70s, which was rare in Hollywood back in the day. She would make history as the first child of a previous Kennedy Center Honoree, her late Father Henry Fonda, to receive one as well. Her roles have been personally uncompromising in its depth and quality. Despite having a legendary actor for a father, she managed to be successful in her own right and have longevity in this cutthroat business and influence actresses who came after her.

I agree! She is an iconic. If I could she her today my eyes would fill with tears and just want to tell her how amazing that she has always been in my life. I didn't think bad of her back then, because I was so young and loved everything that she had done. And today I still don't think and feel bad about Jane Fonda. I protested as did my friends who were drafted. My uncle had to go so I do have skin in this game. She's an extraordinary actress and an exemplary human being and she's one of the few people in the world that sincerely apologizes when wrong.

I wish more actors would do this. I haven't seen most of these movies but it was so interesting to listen to her.

Grace and Frankie is me and my mums comfort show its so great! It's funny but also has touching moments and also love the outfits Grace and Frankie wear in every episode. Bet they had an absolute blast filming!!

Jane Fonda has given at least 2 or 3 performances that I think are the best ever recorded to film. Clearly one of the top 5 actresses the US has ever produced. A performance like Klute would win in almost any year.

I have loved and respected Jane Fonda for more years than I can remember. To say that she inspires me is an understatement. A major contribution that Jane Fonda has made in my life is the knowledge that we can continue to grow and improve our lives at all stages of life.

Jane Fonda is a living legend, intelligent, eloquent, funny with a regal dignity and still absolutely gorgeous. Wow 🤩

This is worth watching just for the "On Golden Pond" part alone. That made me tear up. I love this series.

Barefoot in the park is one of my all time favorite movies. I've been watching it since my mom introduced me to it as a kid and still love it!

I've grown up with Jane Fonda. Yes, I turned 75 this year. I've seen most of her movies. I'm so in love with "Grace and Frankie"! Jane and Lily are doing an unbelievable acting job on this series!! So natural, so funny, it's like their doing it in real life! I've also been a huge fan of Lily Tomlin through the years. They are both meant for their parts. Jane Fonda is so intelligent and real and strong and inspiring. I love her!

She got me big time with the "On Golden Pond" story. Both surreal and poignant.

This was such a beautiful candid episode and Jane is such a gem, now I want to watch everything she’s ever made.

I highly recommend her biography. She’s done so much with her life and still has so much life in her.

I met her once on site when I worked on grace and Frankie she was the kindest most honest and open individual and she gathered a bunch of young girls and she insisted that we vote that we never let anybody especially the government silence our voices she instilled that we pay attention to the news and then we read the newspaper and we don't get caught up on trends because the classics will always be in style and she always said be very careful how you treat people because karma is real.

She’s just so iconic and awesome. I love her ♥️

I mean I remember watching “9 to 5” as a kid and just loving the story, the chemistry of Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton. It was an important film in cinema because it discussed society and its treatment of women in the workplace. Now here I am being such a fan of “Grace and Frankie”, loving the story, their chemistry, the timely storyline and most of all how to survive and be happy even as you get older and life deals you a hand you didn’t see coming. I appreciate her narrative of her life journey in film.

I grew up thinking she was a dopey aerobics instructor and she's actually one of the greatest living activists who made fitness videos just because she wanted to bankroll her programs for social change. She is a hero and deserves to be seen as such.

VF always seems to skip my favorite film in this series and in this case it's Julia, for I'm of the mind that the scene in the restaurant between Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave is possibly the most extraordinary piece of acting between two women ever to be captured on film.

One of The Most nicest people I’ve ever met while working in the hospitality industry. You don’t expect someone of her caliber to be so sweet. But she’s a doll🥰I was so honored 💝

We use the words “legend” and “icon” to readily now. SHE is the embodiment of both-not too mention grace, wit, confidence and beauty.

I never realized how versatile she is. Every performance is different. You can't say that for most actors out there. I teared up a bit when she spoke of her father. She’s extremely gorgeous! I first saw her in Monster-in-law, my Hispanic family watched because of JLo but really fell in love with Jane. Her role was iconically fierce, it really made us laugh on how savage she was. Now we watch it on a monthly basis for movie night or even background sound.

Such an incredibly well rounded woman, one who gave her all, made a difference, and can even acknowledge her mistakes. So few people - male or female - can match her dedication, accomplishments, insights. In short she’s an American hero.

My brother got to interview her for the AJC while she was leading rallies in Atlanta. I was so jealous and amazed he would get to talk to her and hear her story in person. What a complete badass.

She has profusely apologized if she made any gaffes. Bet that special name for her was created by our own government to discount her and what she was trying to do. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her speak of her experience on ‘On Golden Pond” the way she did in this interview. Have always loved that movie. And have always loved and respected her.

When i was a teen, i remember watching Monster in Law for Jennifer Lopez at the time, but after the film, i remember thinking Jane Fonda was really the stand out.

Love her acting and all the wonderful roles and characters she brought to life. She is an wonderful icon in the industry!

I am already crying, thinking about the end of this series. Grace is my favorite character in this show. Grace and Frankie, beyond makes me laugh, makes me reflect about the older people and getting older too. Jane is a great actress and is delightful see her acting.

Of all Jane's great movies, "Comes A Horsemen" has always been the one that moved me to my core.

That movie is INCREDIBLE. Absolutely brilliant directing and acting in that film. Very sad to see it omitted

Jane Fonda is an incredible talent and human rights activist, but also: I mean this with zero irony--her plastic surgeon deserves a lifetime achievement award. There are women less than half her age that look deformed after getting minimal fillers/Botox. No she does not look 25 or 30, but here is Jane Fonda looking flawless and at least 25 years younger than her age.

the lighting has alot to do with that. She is in excellent shape and has had more than her fair share of cosmetic procedures but it's the lighting that eliminates the appearance of wrinkles/suggests smooth skin.

She once said if she were nit in show biz she wouldn't have done the surgery. But we should not worry about wrinkles when there are so many more important matters. We need to not judge ppl for looking "old." Aging is natural and having surgery is risky. The pandemic should remind us we are all lucky to be alive.

So _On Golden Pond_ was therapeutic and cathartic for her.

I love, love, LOVE this woman ESPECIALLY at how the mere mention of her name makes right wing lunatics foam at the mouth, is like throwing holy water at the possessed !!!

God bless this lady for looking amazing at 85! Still sad that her brother, Peter passed a few year ago - he was awesome in Ghost Rider [2007] & Easy Rider. Miss seeing her niece, Bridget now in movies.

This was awesome. I wish she talked The Morning After. I loved her performance in it.
