Hello Steven, This is Adel from Egypt. Man please accept my endless gratitude for your unmatched consistency. That really helped me change my life. I'm addicted to the episodes. Brilliant host and fascinating guests. Recently I read your book. The story of data breach and when you dealt with your employees in such an unshakable optimism. You cannot imagine how much this story dramatically changed how I approach life. That was really transformative. Please keep up your audacious work. You're changing our lives. Deeply grateful.

- Saying nothing is still saying something. - Doing nothing, is still doing something. - Whatever u're not changing, u're choosing.
When you really look at it on a nuance level, this podcast is very unique. The Questions, the vibe and what the listener gets out of it - top class.

So true! It's an unexpected gem with timeless value and relevance-. Subscribed!👍
"Losing is not the same thing as being defeated" that was hot 🔥. Lots of gems in this episode. Love it!
Even better than the first podcast with him. James signed my copies of his book today and having met him in person(albeit for a couple of minutes), I felt like he is THIS person- genuine, wise and HUMAN! Extremely inspiring- didn't know I needed to listen to this but grateful I have listened and followed him for so many years. Thank you so so much Steve! Insane value from this and all your other podcasts.
I started following James when he first started doing his lives. Despite all this "fame" he has, it is his honesty, intelligence and the fact he his humble that never ceases to amaze me. Helped me with my relationship with diet and fitness, but also sent me on a journey of self-discovery and understanding. Not on socials to follow him anymore, but forever thankful.
Such an interesting point about focusing more on who we need to be and put less focus on worrying about who we are. Whatever we put our attention into does grow! so I really love that 👏🏻

Lots of great points & quotes to remember. I think there is a big difference between being fake & faking it until you’re more experienced or comfortable with things. I was shy for many years. My dad was smart to put me into acting. It helped my success ten fold.
Loved your first episode with James, but loved this one just as much! Very inspiring and a lot of things to take away and think about. "Anxiety is predicting failure and confidence is predicting success" as well as "Losing is not the same as being defeated" were two things I really needed to hear today! I think I may also now need to buy James' book since I enjoyed this episode with him so much. Thanks James and thanks Steve!!
He tells things simple and to the point!
Gotta say James is incredibly humble and thoughtful outside of his social content. Impressed.
I've read both of James' books and believe that his appeal in person holds significant weight. The belief in yourself to carry out your goals is far more significant than what society expects you to carry out.
I adore how oper and real the answers were. Thank you James for your frankness. It is inspiring...
What a sensational podcast! Wow! James has such an amazing talent in communication and wisdom.
I love this man so much, so many gems. Glad you brought him back!
James, your a legend..seriously! Straight to the point, honest, your integrity is amazing. I have all your books and been to your tour in Perth. Looking forward to reading How to be Confident which I just received champ 👊 Love your challenges, programs coaches and app! Keep bringing on the real life truths mate - your the only person I trust on social media 💯 👌 Amazing, honest podcast as usual champ - well done 👏
Your guest is so incredibly inspiring, thank you so much
So surprised to hear about your struggles James. The perfect example of over coming your fears and helping others to do the same. Strivinf to do the same! Thanks for another great pod!!!
James .....so happy you turned it around - you are deep and smart - it was a slow start, but you came across so well - you are real and solid ( appreciative of your family) Loved the fact you clearly impressed the great Stephen Bartlett.
Two idols of mine having a chat. 100% better than any TV you could watch. 🙌🏽
I came cross this podcast today and i dont believe in fate but its hit me hard. Recently me and my partner of 8 years with a 1 year old daugter decided to break up because we felt the relationship had died. I had been with her from 18 - 26 majority of my adult life and ive been broken about the situation and terrified of the change but what james has said has resonated with me so much and i kinda have confidence now that things will be okay
I love James’ books! Can’t wait to read this new one - great podcast
As mentioned in the book (The Expectation Effect), even those who knew they were taking a placebo had their outcomes changed more than a control group. Incredible book. Strongly recommended. Great interview, by the way. Will check out his James' book - Not a Life Coach.
This podcast has made me respect James so much more than ever !! What a gentleman. 👏👏👏👏

It’s all about having PMA positive mental attitude combined with the attitude of gratitude ✌🏾💜
I found my own "confidence" didn't really make itself known until I found my first real passion, which is fictional writing. I found something worth investing in.
James is truly connected with self🔥❤️🔥
I really am enjoying this podcast. It’s helping me a lot today , thank you 🙏🏻

I really do like this bloke. Didn't know who he was before this, so thanks.
ugh again, another video from your channel coming to me EXACTLY when I needed it the most. Thank you so much Stephen (Steven?) and James
Thanks to both of you for this great conversation about very important topics!
Love all your podcasts, thank you so much for coaching so many people at once! Usualy end one with lots of wisdom, but this one I wasn't convinced, went to hear Sadhguru's POV on confidence and must admit it's on another level of clarity
The best podcast - I've seen in a long time it was so insightful and refreshing to be able to see different peoples perspectives on things whilst being able to develop and further my own understanding

@14:30 ♥️ Anxiety is predicting failure and confidence is predicting success 🏆
I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. kzread.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!
“Picking your passengers” is a great way to put it.
Great podcast, I wasn't sure I would get anything out of this one but it kept me company whilst stripping wallpaper and... It helped me immensely. I am about to launch a business idea I had 4 years ago. I want to listen to it again. Thank you x
This was bloody helpful and inspiring. Thanks James and Steven
So many impactful moments in this episode !
@Steven, one of the best podcasts going - keep up the great work buddy!
This is the first podcast i have watched that i will watch again back to back as this was great 👍🏻 so much knowledge to take in.
You gain confidence and grow by putting yourself in uncomfortable situations
'Fake it till you make it' - That's not a bad tactic. I've mostly experienced nerves and anxiety at work so everytime I would change jobs or even at interviews, I would remind myself that no one at the new company knows me or about my lack of confidence. So I can be who ever I want to be and if I 'fake' my confidence, I end up building evidence (as Steven said) that I *can* talk in public, and I *can* express my views at meetings etc. So by faking it, I'm proving to myself that I'm capable, after which I won't need to fake it because it'll be real.

29:50 - Working because we CHOOSE to vs. working because we have to is a big lesson I've learned in the last few years. I don't think anyone enjoys doing nothing, I think it's just that so many people are spending their whole lives right now doing work for other people that they don't enjoy so they can pay the bills.

As a 45 year old divorced womam, it's funny and interesting listening to two young guys who have never been married, discuss relationships.
So many truths .. plus made me look at my own biases..this is why open dialogue so important
I lovedd it:) another great interview. Keep the amazing work
This is an early one? No doubt it's going to be another awesome episode - I cannot wait to watch! 👍🏿😁
the whole bit on drinking an productivity redcuing leading to unhappiness resonated with me.. im at this stage
It's funny, no other youtube channel has me so confident in the quantity of content. That I give it a Like before starting the video actual video. Well done mate : )

Great great podcast❤️🔥 ok I’m ready to learn 👌🏻
Could totally relate to all of it and got heaps out of it and I'm in my late 40s, so James is pretty wise for such a young guy
Great guy!
I enjoyed this podcast help me thing about my life ,also I am going to buy his book
We’re always choosing all the time. Yes. What you’re not changing, you are choosing. 💥💥💥✅ We alone have to make that choice.
After writing a long thought out post I think it best to delete it and move on with my own life. Thanks for your honesty here James… I think as man we all live a life wanting to be the old guy driving a sports car living in a million pound dream home with a young girlfriend sucking us off each night as we drink whisky from the fountain of youth and our broker phones to say that’s another million today sir. But… not for all of us I’m afraid… some of us need to work & live out our lives safe in the knowledge that the people that mean the most to us are more important than the people we’ll never know. Thanks for your stories, your insight, your knowledge and experience. Love your channel and your process… 👍🏼 cheers mate

Another great conversation gents 👏🏼
At the very core of confidence is actually turning up for your own self. Having the ability to be able to acknowledge your matter to yourself to put in the work in certain situations and aspects to make positive changes that impact so this may mean walking every day because it reduces stress anxiety and depression this puts you in a better positive mindset to then Segway to going to the gym to then eating better to then going to bed on time not 1 am and getting up late turning up to work 35 minutes late
Wow some great insights
Stagnation is my biggest fear: ME!! ❤ Love this podcast!
The Tim Ferris 10% discount on coffee made me laugh! My husband asks for discounts a lot this would be a very normal interaction 🤦🏽♀️🤣 I get 2nd hand embarrassment all the time!
As someone that lost parents early I’m intrigued by people who see their parents approval as important to their values, it can be quite cataclysmic when they are not there anymore.
Happy Thursday..... Best day of the week Also James take on marriage and how to hold yourself if It doesn't work but however to go in with the idea of no matter what am going do my best was a very wise take on marriage and divorce 👍💪👊
A step at a time great stuff....being confortable with failing
Would love to see Paul mort on this podcast!
Better than the first podcast this jimbo
Its so lush listening to two honest open men. And you're so right about pornography, and other forms of laziness in society. I got my arse in gear, did the keto diet and learnt to surf at the age of 59. But the better I look, Ive found the less chance I have of finding a man, because most of the men my age are looking like Homer Simpson, and want a homey that cracks their beers for them. Lolx ! Yup, I also love the little things. Well done you guys.

That remark about plus sized models wanting to burn down the entire system was awesome. I want to be a person who enjoys other peoples success. And not someone who is resentful because I haven't achieved anything.

This is my second time listening to this, we can get caught up chasing all sorts of goals for all sorts reasons. Some, on reflection are probably not even aligned with your highest values? I believe confidence is the one skill greatly not explored enough, often labeled as a negative trait or just cocky. I'm sure we can all agree that statement above is rubbish, and like James and Steve mentioned. Confidence is being confident in what you're talking about, and cocky is bluffing your way through something you don't! I have confidence in certain things and in others I have no bloody clue, my goal this year is to get confident in speaking to others!
I’ve always seen this guy as an enigma. I never understood why he was slapped with this rep of being shallow or being high maintenance. He seems like such a level headed dude.
