    James has an amazing memory. He controls the buzzer so precisely and answers before I, at home can absorb the question completely. I'm a Jeopardy aficionado, however, I stopped watching after he surpassed a $million. I began supporting the 2 other befuddled contestants, which then made me feel TOO frustrated. So, if Jeopardy Officials want to pass the money to one person in order to boost ratings, so be it. But, last year at the end of one show, Alex Trebec gave disparaging comments about contestants breaking the tradition of starting at the top of each category, rather jumping into the bottom one. James has been allowed since his first day to do this, thus with his acumen, can make thousands at the start. I wonder if Vegas will allow him to return to gamble again

    Look, I'm not the biggest fan of the guy either, for numerous reasons, not the least of which is that he's simply too good, but it's not fair to criticize his playing style. Frankly, doing so makes it harder for his opponents giving him an even greater advantage, jumping around the board makes you have to think even better and faster, about different topics in rapid succession, something which James is incredibly adept at, so if he wants to do it it's his right. Arthur Chu did it and got demonized, and now James does similar; I just say, if you don't like it, BEAT HIM.

  • @stephenbeck7222

    @stephenbeck7222

    Everyone has always been ‘allowed’ to pick whatever clue they want when they have control of the board. Trebek has made comments about people jumping around because it often leads to mistakes or just blank stares waiting on the timeout buzzer. That’s not an issue for James - he is answering more clues correctly than any other contestant ever (Ken Jennings is still considered the trivia king and James is averaging about 2 more clue answers per game) and his strategy also allows him to completely snowball his money earned. It’s great TV for those who enjoy excellence.
