It’s not just the glasses, it’s the way Clark acts clumsy and awkward when he near with people. He also acts less heroic when he runs away to seek help whenever Lois lane is in danger instead of charging in. People also doesn’t believe that a powerful alien would work at the daily planet pretending to be a normal person. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the Christopher Reeve Superman, it’s just like that. He clumsy, awkward and less heroic.

Look , we all have our fav Superman , im 49 I was almost 4 when I was in that theatre and got to see A man truly fly , Superman The Movie . I can clearly remember my father saying ohhh the real Superman will always be George Reeves , cause he grew up in the 50s. But once he saw Chris Reeve take off , by the end of that movie he looked at me and said omg son , that truly is Superman from the comics. My point being its ok to tweek Superman but they may want to tread lightly , too much and it will turn off a large portion of the Fandom. Believe me when I tell you that there are millions of fans that are 30-90 years of age . Yes the young fans matter but rember who will be spending those dollars, Lucas film never understood that and look at what they did to a money printing machine , all you have to do is respect the character and the Fandom. He looks fine to me. I'm intrigued to see if they show him physically changing his hair back and forth between wavy and curly. I think it'd be a fun new way to expand on exactly what he does to transform back and forth. The physical super suit still looks strange but I'm sure certain details and imperfections will be digitized over or completely reworked.

No that was Donner's take (frankly it was ALWAYS STUPID). Donner himself said he hated the Comic Book version of Supes and wanted to clown him up so he is a "cheery" character. People really need to read up Donner's interviews about this.
