The TAMI show is the first music concert to be put in theaters nationwide. TAMI stands for Teenage America Music international. He did four songs he came out with "Out of Sight," then went into "Prisoner of love" then "Please Please Please" and ended up with Nigh train. He killed the show the Rolling Stones didn't even want to come out after his performance. watch the DVD The TAMI show for the full concert.

I love this performance. I was 11 or 12. There's only one James Brown. He's the best.

Great reaction! This is from 1964 from the famous concert The TAMI Show. Please also react to “please please please” and “night train” from the same show. And that’s on “night train” he does what is probably considered the greatest dancing of any rock or soul artist caught on film. And the “please please please” performance is the greatest filmed performance of his famous cape routine. James Brown has been my all-time favorite entertainer since I was 12 years old in 1968 and I saw him live over 100 times so the more you review with him the happier I will be LOL! And the funny thing is you’ve done a lot of Abbott and Costello and they are my second favorite entertainers of all time! Also, please react to Demi Lovato singing “anyone” at this year’s Grammy’s. And her song “father” from 2 years ago before a small intimate audience. Thanks!

When this song originally was released, it was so ahead of it's time that the other R & B artists of the time had to stop and say, what was that I just heard? The "Godfather" threw them all a curve!

Hey, I was 12, when the show came about. Now I'm 67. James Brown is forever the man. There's only one, James Brown. One Micheal Jackson, one Elvis, one Sinatra, one Sammy Davis,Jr. One Aretha. Yes there are other very talented artists but they have to shine their own light. You can shine without taking someone else's shine. There's always talk about the new this and the new that. No, not happening. Smile Everyone.

A lot of young people today simply don't know that James Brown actually first began his career as a member of a vocal group. That group was The Famous Flames. All they know about James Brown is that he is a solo artist with a Funk band known as "The Godfather". But it wasn't always that way. James Brown & The Famous Flames were a "thing", as they say today. The Flames sang with James on almost all of his early hits...and they were together as a GROUP fir well over a DECADE. The FAMOUS FLAMES were: BOBBY BENNETT, LLOYD STALLWORTH, and BOBBY BYRD, and as you can' see here, The Flames also excellent dancers, as well as singers. The Famous Flames were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. One more thing:NOBODY called James Brown "The Godfather" back then . In the Fifties and Sixties, when he was lead singer of The Famous Flames,he was known as "MISTER DYNAMITE."

Young people such as yourselves, and ANYONE born after 1970, did not know that James Brown actually began his career as a member of a singing group called THE FAMOUS FLAMES.
