Jake Shimabukuro - "Bohemian Rhapsody" - TED (2010) - ukelele cover
Музыка
Jake Shimabukuro strums monster sounds out of the tiny Hawaiian ukelele, as he plays a cover of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." A sensational performance from TED2010 -- it'll send shivers down your spine.

It really takes care of the song in a most peculiar way...and it nails it. Freddie and the band would have been proud.
There's nothing more satisfying than watching a truly talented musician become one with their instrument. Every great musician has that exact same look on their face when they get "in the zone." I wish I could say that I saw this video 12 years ago and that I play the Ukulele today because of Jake Shimabukuro. The truth is I wanted to learn the guitar and started learning it this past June. I then discovered the massive Ukulele community right here on KZread and discovered how much easier and more fun it is to learn to play prior to learning the guitar. I can say with total confidence that it is because of Jake Shimabukuro and videos like this one that he made that inspired all the ukulele teachers I now study with online and I am very grateful for Jake Shimabukuro for being the incredible talent he is and for promoting the Ukulele to mainstream status and elevating its image so that I could proudly play the baritone Uke today.

It's better on guitar. Not biased cuz I have a uke AND a guitar
Harmonics, arpeggios, percussive elements, chordal support under the melody. All beautiful and incredibly executed.
Jake is to the Uke as Bela Fleck is to the banjo, Victor wooten is to the bass , Bob Culbertson is to the stick, Edgar Meyer is to the upright bass, Steve Morse is to the guitar, etc, etc, etc. So many freakishly talented people .
This arrangement still gives me butterflies, absolute mastery
Years ago, I saw him perform in Chattanooga Tennessee at a free concert. He did the Star Spangled Banner.. Everyone got quiet and most stood up for the performance. He was soooo humble and it was soooo good.

I love ukuleles. Such a unique and beautiful sound
DISLIKE=JEALOUSY Seriously, you can either be in awe of his talent, or dislike him because your playing sucks.

@@Cuasimodo2372 "He was gay" Wow, and you just outed him.
That was impressive. I'm saving that beautiful arrangement to my playlist.
This is so peaceful to hear
I love how he just gets lost in the beauty of the sound. He's my idol, keep on doing what you do Jake!
I dont even understand how you can dislike this. I can only pray to be as beautiful and as good as him one day.
This made me cry ❤ this song means so much to me and hearing Jake play it like he does makes it that much better. Thank you so much Jake!
Watching this is life changing.
Its ironic when he says the ukelele is about peace and then he is plays a song about someone getting killed

I thought that too, at first, but I think that maybe the whole point was that the ukulele could make even something so depressing happier- exactly what he hoped to do with the world.

Thats the point.
following the previous laughter, at 1:03 most people thought: "f*ck he was not joking".
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you!
Absolutely phenomenal!
Ukeleles are like a mash up of a guitar and a harp.Whoever invented them, must have been a wonderful person
Way to channel so much love and energy through that instrument. It is an under dog but once you know your scales and chords you can bring anything to life. You just have to learn the instrument. You're one amazing ukelele player man.
I loved the armonic's sounds!! This version was amazing 😍😍
Absolutely stunning !!!
