Jak and Daxter - Speedrun World Record History
Ойындар
In its simplest form, speedrunning is the process of whittling away at a game. Players do as much as they can, as fast as they can, to disrupt the natural order of things. Sometimes these tricks are like a small paring knife, and other times these glitches are like a chainsaw. Even the best made games have their flaws, some more apparent than others.
We’ve looked under every rock and boulder for this one. The runners of this game have walked through fire and lived to tell the tale. The wise sages of yesteryear have shared what they’ve learned. Don’t pause, because you might miss something! This is the story of Jak and Daxter; The Precursor Legacy. Today, we are looking at the Any% category. Anything goes in these parts. Hold on, because things are about to pick up. Welcome to Speed Docs.

Due to an Encoding error during the rendering process, there's an audio glitch from 50:55 to about 51:05 . Unfortunately, we didn't catch it until the premier of the video.... Sorry about that

Thanks for making this content. I hope it continues. I wish I could give it a million views to pay for the effort and quality of these videos. Even though you are picking excellent games. I say, Go as mainstream as you can to pull in more viewers! (Minecraft and junk) Even be click baity with titles and thumbnails. This is great content. Although, if your current model is sustainable, then keep it going! We love it.

The story of Ben is honestly hilarious, because his defense of his run saying no one would shave even 5 minutes off his time was proven wrong in every way. Not only did someone quickly shave 40 minutes off his run by just playing the game better and not being afraid of spiders, but nowadays the Any% category has runs totaling only 15 minutes, 1/9th of his time, and the 100% category has runs totaling just over an hour and a half, nearly an hour faster than his Any% run despite collecting every Power Cell and every Precursor Orb.

@@SpeedDocs I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t know until just now that Daxter wasn’t always an orange animal thing. This is particularly embarrassing because this is my SECOND TIME WATCHING THIS.
Man Ive followed Josh for awhile in the background but seeing him lose his mind watching someone beat his crowning achievement run just goes to show just how genuinely nice a guy he is
The interviews really elevate the whole thing, they’re great.
I’ve been watching this bit by bit the last few nights and like…gosh you make really good docs. I love that the runners share their voices, the little text below the text, the clear explanations and narrative arc. Couldn’t be happier.
God I love SpeedDoc's . There is literally nothing else I look forward to on the internet more than a Speed Doc

I got it for my 6th birthday without a memory card. Fun times beating geyser rock for like 50 times and going to bed before my parents noticed what a memory card was.
I'm not sure why... I can't quite put my finger on it. But all of the Speed Docs videos make me feel nostalgic for old school G4TV documentaries like Icons. Keep it up guys I love it.
I watch these documentaries for games I'm not even familiar with because I love learning all this stuff and you present it in such an entertaining and informative way, but REALLY excited to see the upcoming LoZ:TWW episode, since I'll actually know some of the folks involved in the history!
I feel like your storytelling, scripting, explainations and editing has been getting better with each new video, not to mention the (relatively) blistering pace you're releasing content. Also, could you have chosen a more wholesome community? It was really great seeing everyone at GDQ cheering on Louigi.
Why aren’t more people watching Speed Docs. I seriously don’t get it. Keep it up, your time will come! I greatly appreciate what you guys do. Amazing work!
