Lyrics
Cut my life into pieces
This is my last resort
Suffocation, no breathing
Don't give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding
This is my last resort
Cut my life into pieces
I've reached my last resort
Suffocation, no breathing
Don't give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding
Do you even care if I die bleeding?
Would it be wrong, would it be right
If I took my life tonight?
Chances are that I might
Mutilation out of sight
And I'm contemplating suicide
'Cause I'm losing my sight, losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
Losing my sight, losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
I never realized I was spread too thin
'Til it was too late, and I was empty within
Hungry, feeding on chaos and living in sin
Downward spiral, where do I begin?
It all started when I lost my mother
No love for myself and no love for another
Searching to find a love upon a higher level
Finding nothing but questions and devils
'Cause I'm losing my sight, losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
Losing my sight, losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
Nothing's alright, nothing is fine
I'm running and I'm crying
I'm crying, I'm crying
I'm crying, I'm crying
I can't go on living this way
Cut my life into pieces
This is my last resort
Suffocation, no breathing
Don't give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding
Would it be wrong, would it be right
If I took my life tonight?
Chances are that I might
Mutilation out of sight
And I'm contemplating suicide
'Cause I'm losing my sight, losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
Losing my sight, losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
Nothing's alright, nothing is fine
I'm running and I'm crying
I can't go on living this way
Can't go on
Living this way
Nothing's alright

I have fallen in love with this song all over again. As a suicide survivor, it touches me in a way that is hard to describe. I just wanna let anyone know if you feel like nobody loves you i do. You arent alone there is an army of people out here who may not know how exactly you feel but i guarantee you there are so many that can relate. You know for years, i was still angry at the lady who saved my life. She cut me down from the rope and at the time i didnt want that. But now she is a saint to me. Bc it would have been so easy to just do nothing. And i wonder if it was today, would she have done the same or grabbed her phone to record it? Thank you Kimberly Gibson you deserve a medal for seeing how valuable my life was when i couldn't.

This is so moving the way Ronnie shows his re-imagined version to Jacoby, but truth be told, no validation required. I liked the original when I was younger, but Ronnie has me killing this new version daily. He has brought the lyrics to the forefront where we can actually process them, FEEL them, and empathise. It's deeper, more powerful, and so much more meaningful than ever before and Ronnie should be extremely proud of this masterpiece.

I don't follow these bands or vocalists, but this came on the radio the other day. I had to pull over. It moved me as much as the original at a time when I really needed to be moved. There aren't many covers that completely revamp the song in a meaningful way. It's not that the cover is better; it is its own song while clearly and respectfully rooted. It happens once in a generation and not even in every genre. I think Sara Bareilles' Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is the nearest example I can think of before this one. Well done.

The difference, however, is that now we're old enough to express it in a different, less angry way. We were never angry, to begin with. We were hurting, but we didn't have the resources to vocalize it, but we also didn't have the responsibilities that would have kept us from being so raw and emotional. We grew, we became adults, we now have jobs and families that hold us accountable, but that wound we had never fully healed.

The love and respect they have for each other's artistic integrity is beautiful. That's dope as fk, doesn't get any better than that. Papa Roach said he loves it, what 4 times, absolutely amazing. Well done Ronnie, you killed it buddy, it's breathtaking and takes you on a journey, exactly what music is supposed to do. OMG! I discovered you through your reimaging of Last Resort just last night on the radio. Hadn't even heard 2 lines before I had to find out who this amazing voice (that has given me goosebumps!) belongs to. Last Resort is already 1 of my top 10 favorites of all time so of course I had to watch your official video version. I don't know if I can properly express how deeply your music has affected me!! That song, your energy, your voice, your angst & your essence that you put into that song is perfect. It is so rare when one can do a melody better than the composer & you did so much more than just make it better you made it so perfect it totally undid me!! I'm 56 years old & a song hasn't given me goosebumps AND made me cry, at the same time, in over 40 years! I'm not talking about a single tear running down my cheek either, I'm talking ugly sobbing, can't catch my breath, snot bubbles n all!!! I almost ended up on the floor, thank you! Thank You!! THANK YOU!!! I've been marathoning your stuff & basically stalking you ever since. Damn dude, but you are just plain n simply the most amazing individual I have ever had the pleasure of stalk-um, I mean-researching! You are truly a testament to the power of determination!! I applaud you, how6r you've survived, what you've accomplished & who you are!!!! You are our Modern Day version of Cinderella, sans the mice n shit, lol. Seriously though, you really are the epitome of the Underdog overcoming. All the disadvantages you have surmounted to be where you are now, it's mind boggling!!! I have also spent time incarcerated & your example gives me hope. Something I haven't had for far too long! Maybe some day I might, possibly, be able to redeem myself too, hopefully. Thank you, again, for the gift of you! I feel it's only fair to warn you that: No good deed goes unpunished. & giving me hope is one Hella Good Deed, so look over your shoulder. In ever growing respect & adoration, take care. Your #1 Stal-uh, Fan Elf (Tina Harding)

Getting the honor of presenting your cover to the source and have them praising it has to be one of the most satisfying feelings as an artist. Congrats Ronnie

This is the cutest thing ever! Ronnie, shy and hoping for his approval. Jacoby, loving and appreciating his beautiful vocals. Love it!

As many have said, the original was all about the anger and frustration. It was a song that spoke to so many teens and young adults. This version..... it changes the WHOLE meaning of the song. Same words, but the tone, the melody, the inflections.... it comes across as a cry for help and hope for just one person to offer the help that is so desperately needed. I dont usually like reimaginings of songs that I grew up with. To my mind they were perfect as they were, but there are a few, and this one has joined the list.

Very few songs give me goosebumps. Even fewer give my entire body goosebumps or make my hair stand on end. This is one them. Thank you.

Ronnie, vulnerablility and humility are what have kept me coming back for years; seeing you be humble, anxious and real and getting Jacoby's blessing was impressive

This is a really well done & emotionally charged cover. It really brings a maturity to the song we all heard so long ago. Ronnie being nervous about letting Jacoby listen to it shows the influence that he and Papa Roach have had in the world of music. I'm so glad that Jacoby loved it as much as everyone else did.
