Jacklore, Knives, Updates, August 2023
Please note I do not take orders I just like building the knives with what materials I have in stock. I am currently not sending knives Oversea's, so you have to be in the UK if you want to get one of my knives.
Things may change in the future but at the moment the risks involved with oversea's shipping are too high and it's not worth the stress I feel when I send a knife oversea's.
Also although I rely largely on my knife making for my livlihood, it is rather a small scale enterprise, the knives take me an age to build and my output is low.
I also have a partially disabled wife to care for and dogs that need good long walks.
I also have lots of Camping equipment that needs to be used and motorbikes and bicycles that need riding so what I'm saying is:
Money isn't the priority, a good work life balance is, so I run my small business my way.
I hope you understand.
Please don't send me gifts unless I know you.
"Beware of accepting gifts from strangers" is the quote!
Often times they expect quite a lot in return!
The other wise quote is an Inuit saying, "With our gifts we make him a slave"
So please keep your gifts, Your friendship is however appreciated

Thank you for sharing again. All the best to Mandy. Beautiful knifes as always
Oh wow! Usual brilliant and beautiful pieces of art. I've wanted one for so long now, but I've resigned myself to the fact, that it being such a lottery.. I'm unlikely to own one. I'll just keep watching, and keep admiring your beautiful work. I have held two of your Classics in my hand though, belonging to friends. And that was a privilege!
Emeğine sağlık üstat ; hepsi harika görünüyor !Kolay gelsin !😊😊😊

The 1st one is stunning sandy.
You make the best knives bar none.
I often watch bushcraft and wild camp videos, and this channel popped up on my feed so you must be getting into my YT algorithms. I'll be watching your 'knives available' webpage closely from now on! Beautiful tools.

Always a pleasure to watch you sandy displaying the craftsmanship that you produce 👏👏👏 I still keep revisiting all your utube video's 👍 i dont know if it draws anymore pennies in by watching these again 🤔 but they are so interesting , Give mandy my best wishes for a speedy recovery 🥰 Excellent knives Sandy 👌 im honoured to be in JACKLORE fraternity 🎩🇬🇧👍
Hope Mandy improves. Always looking forward to seeing your latest work. You set a high bar for the other makers out there Sandy.
Such beautiful knives!
Sandy. Your craftsmanship is second to none. From your stunning knives to your awesome leather work, I am in awe.
Your knives are awesome. I like how you have pretty much focused on one design, and perfected it. Well done sir.
Wishing Mandy all the best Sandy and I hope she is back on the bike enjoying the countryside soon. An excellent and informative video as always Sandy. I always really enjoy hearing about the details of the manufacturing processes and oh that desert iron wood looks amazing. PS I have not forgotten that I owe you a message. 😊
Beautiful work as ever! 💥

Another great video, Watching the knives progress through the manufacturing process is very intresting. Thanks.
Works of art as usual Sandy. Couple questions; Have you considered taking on an apprentice/employee to help around the shop, and to pass your knowledge and experience too? Also, have you ever tried out using wooden pins? You could use matching wood so they blend in, or contrasting wood to stand out. Just a thought if you're looking for something different. Keep up the beautiful work, and thank you for passing along so much of your knowledge!
❤
Your not a knife maker.......your an artist! They look fantastic 👍
Absolutely beautiful work. Love the look of the tapered tang.
Lovely work, as always, Sandy. The desert ironwood looked especially good. Hope Mandy is recovering well.
The great thing about your knives Sandy is the personal story behind each one you produce. When you sell a knife it is not some sole less object that has been mass produced passing through multiple hands on a mechanised production line… Each one has a character of its own because it has been personally crafted by yourself to the highest standard with the maximum attention to detail.
I have admired your work for many years. Would you be able to recommend someone in the states where I could possibly purchase something close to your quality and beauty? Thanks for all the quality content, I really enjoy it.

Great knife all the best
Knives beautiful as ever Sandy. Did you get to the Prepper Meet ? Sorry to hear Mandy has been out of sorts, best wishes for getting well to her ...
You do such good work and I can certainly appreciate the skill and time you have invested. I just wish there was a way to purchase and send to the US. Thanks for the video
Fabulous work as always, Mr. Jack the Knife. Sorry to hear that Mandy has been unwell - best wishes to her. Have often wondered if you have considered a ‘flat grind’ model? Strikes me that the longer-handled Wasp (?) might make a useful ‘camp/cooking knife’ with a flat grind. Just musing, really. Thanks for the updates - always of interest.
Sandy, lovely wee video the knives look grand, one day I will get one. But like you I'm self employed and unlike you I'm nearly 70, Haha, so money as I'm sure you know seems to be harder to earn these days. I do hope Mandy's condition stabilises and she can get out and about again soon, especially on her new ebike which suits her better than a standard bike. I apprieciate you must be run off your feet, so the work put into your channels is a bonus for us following you. ATB Big Dave Scotland

Hi Dave, Thanks, Mandy has to be careful, she went out for a bike ride on the Ebike recently but ended up in hospital, she's had heart issue's now for the last 8 years and I've lost count of the number of times she's been in hospital in the last 3 years. She can't do much without becoming tired
Would love to see and hear about the carving knife works for you and your friend in German friend.

Wishing the best for the family
I keep trying to get one😂
Well, as I have always said, you are definitely a Master Craftsman! The Classic and those Camp Knives look great, but I have a question - Do you have to stabilize Dessert Iron Wood? I would imagine it would be hard because it is naturally dense, almost like it is already stabilized by nature. Anyway, I am honored to test that Whittler for you, just need to make arrangements to pick it up when you are finished. Wishing Mandy, your Family and you Health and Happiness!
@WiltshireMan
Жыл бұрын
Dan The profile of the Mini Whittler will change slightly once the bevels are ground, I'm going to put on a lean angle so it should be quite slicy. I shall post this knife to you as a gift and as the wood being fitted is Purple heart it should get through customs OK. Regarding Desert Iron Wood, it won't absorb resin to any great extent so no point in trying to stabilise it. It even sinks in water!

Japanese water stones will give a very good edge once you know how to use them properly
Hi Sandy, roughly when do you put knives up? I've been looking every week for about two years and always miss the boat.

No you've not missed the boat, the latest knives were snapped up before I even had a chance to put them on the website. Next batch of knives should start to be ready in around a week to 10 days
