Personally I love an oak handle. Something about the feel, look, and usage all just gives a “timely” or “old” feel to it, like it came out of colonial America, which I love.

Sandy that oak handled Knife is absolutely Stunning!!! Love the story behind the handle, ex dog chew 😁, maybe that is the secret to fabulous scales, let the dog choose them 😂 You're dog certainly has good taste.

Love the oak scales, Sandy. Carmen must have stronger teeth than I have, that's for sure. Lucky that you managed to retrieve the wood before she'd chewed too much of it.

That oak handle is exceptional, well worth the time Sandy all 3 are great but I agree with you about the aesthetics of British Oak.

I've run out of compliments mate. I don't think I have ever said so many nice things about anything as I have about your work over the years ... Don't you worry about that head shining through either. That makes me feel happier about the ever decreasing strands of wispy nonsense clinging to my bonce. BTW... That rescued curly-Oak has made a proper bobby-dazzler of a handle .

Well, I really like woods that can withstand the test of time simply be taking care of the wood. A spoon I carved for my wife using the Swedish kuksa technique (boiling in salt water, etc...) is almost 10 years old and still in the kitchen making meals (made out of Oak). Anyway, beautiful knives my friend and I do not believe I have ever seen that style of oak - really nice! Stay safe and healthy!

Very nice pieces Sandy. I know you have the love of your life there but I heard some women love bald heads besides you could never find another Mandy. Anyway , quick question, I have some kitchen and bushcraft knives with wooden handles. They have become a little dry and dull looking. I noticed you using double boiled linseed oil. I bought some and applied it to my knives. The problem is the oil stayed sticky on them. What should I use or do. I’d appreciate your help. Thanks for sharing. Tony.

Hi Quick question, do you show videos of how you make your sheaths ? As they are so pro. Would like to see that as the leather looks really thick and tough to work? Cheers
