I got it for $169 on an Amazon lighting deal. While we don’t lose power too often, something like this will really help power up larger items, beyond a phone, tablet, or laptop. Thanks for the review.

I've watched a lot of reviews on the jackery 240. Yours by far is the best review I have watched. I ordered one well over a week ago and it has been stuck in Dallas-Fort Worth since the 15th of February. The ice and snow has it stuck with FedEx so hopefully when it all melts I'll be getting it soon. I will be using mine to go camping just give me a couple of lights at night and maybe down the road a small 12 volt refrigerator. I also bought the solar panel. I camp totally off-grid in East Tennessee Mountains. So I'm looking forward to using this. Again, thank you.

Love your pun! And just to clarify, the reason why your MacBook power brick made a buzzing sound when plugged into the non pure-sine-wave power station is that the waveform of the AC voltage was more like a square wave. That caused the buzzing sound. Sine waves are steady curves, with no abrupt changes in voltage.

@@jettlash1000 I got my Jackery 240 and I love it. I bought it thru Amazon. When I tried to get the Jackery solar panel I hit a snag. The 60 watt wasn't on Amazon so I contacted the company itself as I saw it on their website. It turns out I can't get it because they don't ship outside of the US. I'm in Canada. I was able to get another solar panel that would work with the 240. Just waiting for it now. It's sad that the company doesn't ship at least to Canada with is on the same continent. Due to that fact I won't be buying anything more from them. Had I known this before hand I would not have purchased the Jackery. They really are cutting off a lot of business. If people are willing to pay the shipping I don't see the problem plus there would be import taxes to pay too. Their product is worth all this.

I just received my jackery yesterday and love it. Had to wait for UK version and it was worth it. Pricey in my opinion but worth the money. It is heavier then I expected but compacted and small. About to do car camping with a tent extension. Can't wait. Can I ask I noticed the USB sockets both need to be turned on before they work, the little buttons. I thought they could work independently but clearly cannot unless you switch both USB panel buttons on. My jackery came with 29% charge. I charged it over night. Will be testing it this weekend. Also I did my research for 3 years on Jackery power stations. I didn't go for their Solar panel because it was kind of daft not making it waterproof. I purchased another panel at 60watts for a lot less that is compatible and works based on reviews by another Jackey 240 owner.

Would the Jackery 240 be enough to load the car battery at least to some 20-30 % capacity (through a battery charger plugged on the AC socket) or at least to start the car? My car is parked outside, there is no power in the near and the battery is hard to remove and take home to charge. I know the 500 would do it but the 240 is cheaper, that's why i ask.

Lithium Ion batteries are designed to hold a charge for a very long time, anywhere from 6 months to a year. If you do intend to store something like this over a long period of time without using it, however, it is best to store it in a cool, dry location at about 50% of its charge capacity. LiOn does not like extreme cold or heat.

I share your enthusiasm for the Jackery but you don’t have to worry about charging your laptop from that Omni charge. It is purely a DC battery pack. Not AC. No sine wave. Also.. Jackery does not recommend pass-through charging on the 240 or 300 because it just adds cycles to your battery and you only get 500 charge cycles before the Jackery goes to 80%.

We left the Jackery 240’s Outlet switch on in its back going on a 4 hour journey (nothing was plugged in) We when we got to our destination and took it out of the bag it was very warm / hot & both fans was running ! The fans would have struggled to get air for whatever length they were on. Any idea if the heat was coming from the battery, the inverter or the fans them selfs? As far as we knew there was a cut off built into it so I’m wondering why it wouldn’t have shut down ? I reset the battery and it appears to be working 100% , surprisingly fans seem fine etc. Thanks in advance

The 240 has a cutoff after 12-hours if the draw is below 10w. It would have been slowly draining the entire duration of your 4-hour trip. Since it was in a bag, the heat had nowhere to go - impossible to dissipate in a confined space (like a bag, even more so if it were zipped it otherwise closed).

  • @whyillustrated5610

I run a little square electric heating pad on it, it pushes about 45 watts, with 240 watt hours it'll run about 4-5 hours. But generally I'll just run it for 30-45minutea to warm up my blankets and get it nice and trapped in there to go to sleep then maybe a little in the morning. It's surprising how little you need with it under you or between your sheets.

I bought a jackery 240 about 3 weeks ago and I've noticed something that I may just be overthinking about, and I'm trying to get other owners of the 240's opinion. I've noticed that when watching videos here on KZread that on some units, even like the 500 and 300 when you plug in charger to charge that the light is blue when charging and turns green when done. I've never saw a detailed video on the 240 to see if it acts the same when its done charging. Mine never turns green. It will charge up to 100% and the watts will taper down, slowly going to zero and the charger box even gets cold, from not pushing out anymore power, but the light never turns green, it always stays blue. The unit seems to function fine, and I even left it plugged up for like 12 hours just to make sure, but it never changes to green, it stays blue. Can anyone else who owns a 240 confirm if theirs stays blue or does turn green? Like I say, any other time I wouldn't think anything of it, but it's got me questioning why the 240 stays blue but the other units turn green when done

I believe mine stays blue as I'm solar charging. If yours is working well besides that, I wouldn't worry about it.
