Jack the Ripper lived in Canada - Toronto, Montreal, and Saint John, to be precise. Irish-American herb doctor Francis Tumblety was - according to TV historian Tony McMahon in a new book - the most likely suspect to be Jack the Ripper. He was arrested in London by Scotland Yard in 1888 but absconded before he could be put on trial. In the earlier part of his life, he lived and worked in Canada and while there, McMahon discovered, was accused of manslaughter but escaped on horseback to the United States.
