This remains one my favourite movies ever. No one could've played the roles as well. It was utterly, perfectly cast. Cusack's character, with a different face/demeanour, would've been loatheable. Black's character could've easily been extremely annoying- instead he's endearing. Tim Robbins as Ian is sheer brilliance. Bonet was wonderful as a footloose touring musician. And I don't know where they came up with Hjejle, but she nailed all of her emotional moments, reacting with a perfect mix of exasperation, irritation, guilt, and love. Even the small roles of the ex-girlfriends, etc were wonderfully done. Damn... now I want to watch it again.

I never expected that 😀 Beautiful performance
The one that blew me away was when Jack n Jimmy Fallon sang, “More than Words”💯🤩🤩
진짜 쵝오!!!완전 매력 쩔어!!!
I enjoy the song, and the movie. It's a nondescript little movie that never gets old, and is always entertaining. It's too bad we don't have movies like it today.

If you're first impression of a Jack's voice is bad then it's because you have bad taste and knows nothing about good singing voices. Anyone one with an ear and some knowledge of what sounds good will categorize his voice as good and extremely controlled. He goofs a lot but that has never overshadowed his talents.
Is there anything Jack Black doesn't just fucking _slay?_
They set up his character in the movie as a goof, and a poseur. Black wasn't famous at the time, so this scene was a coming out party of sorts. I remember that my reaction was similar to Cusack's.
