In this regard may i ask a question: i have a LPH80 model (0.8/E2) / but with a missing air cap (only god knows how that could happen). I checked google and found 100 pounds replacement - which is really expensive^ as you understand. I generally use thinned latex Benjamin Moore paint as it will not melt XPS foam. My compressor is small (Makita MAC700 2.0 HP 3.3 CFM at 90 PSI) which according to the numbers should be sufficient for this gun. Would you be able to recommend or offer a guess as to what needle size and cap size would be best for this paint?

    Hi Andrew, I have no knowledge of the paint you describe so can't say for sure, but if you planes are 70 inches long i would guess something like a 0.6 tip would be ok. I presume you thin the paint before spraying? , what are you using at the moment to spray? It may give me a better idea of tip size to recommend, you should be able to use both the E2 and E4 cap with your compressor but the E4 will be more on your limit but will give you a bigger fan, you may not want this anyway as a 0.6 E2 fan is around 50mm which would probably be enough, cheers 👍

    Hi buddy, there are so many sizes of cups available for these, so you will always be able to find one to suit. I have many gauges, but these days, I use almost exclusively the Meiji MAR and MARD regulators. Yes, they cost half the price of the gun but really help to smooth the pressure delivery. A good standard regulator is the ANI one, and it is certainly better to avoid the cheaper ones that are normally rubbish with poor metals and inaccurate

Virtually the only ones I use these days are the Meiji, that because they are quite short, not too bulky, accurate and most of all they have a diaphragm inside which really evens the pressure delivery out. The only reason i can think is if they want 1.2 and E4 cap as its only available in LPH80, otherwise, yes, why would you pay twice the price for the same? Cheers 👍

    Hi buddy, yes, I have said in a few of my videos with side cup guns if you were left handed it may be a pain, I have no way of knowing as I'm right handed but it may well be the case. I really like the side cup's, it's a little different which i like and it gives better vision as well as the ability to move the cup if your working at odd angles 👍

    Can i use the 1.2 needle in the 1.0 cap with a e4 nozzle in my lph80. I’m trying to spray clear and would like to use the lph80

    Hi Herbie, the fluid needle for the LPH80 is the same for 1.2 and 1.0 tips, so yes you can interchange them, the needle and tip in the LPH50 1.0 is also exactly the same as the LPH80 1.0, cheers 👍

    Hi Pete, I would like to ask you about lph50 with 1.0 mm nozzle. If I change its E2 cap with 2 holes to the E4 cap with 4 holes (from the lph80), can I get a larger fan pattern with lph50? I think the maximum is about 10 cm with a 1.0 mm nozzle. thanks.

  • @peteshobbies5383

    @peteshobbies5383

    Yes, it makes the fan pattern wider as the E4 cap runs at slightly higher pressure and pushes more air out therfore more fluid as well

    @@peteshobbies5383 Thank you for your reply Pete. I am a beginner with spray guns and I would have an another question about the compressor that fits the LPH50 gun. I have a weldinger fk65 compressor (750Watt, gives max 90 Liter/min at 4 bar, with a 9 l tank.) Is my compressor good to the gun? Do I need a larger diameter of the air hose? e.g. iwata pray gun hose 8 mm bore?

    @@ioseph7997 The size of the hose won't be a problem unless your hose is really small bore, your compressor should be ok but it will be on all the time and if you use an E4 cap it may not keep up, it depends on how much you have to do
