A fact about IU is that she has chronic insomnia so she values sleep a lot and she considers selflessly wishing someone she loves to fall asleep peacefully, even tho she’ll be left alone with her insomnia, to be a way of expressing her love. She actually doesn’t says “I love you” to fans a lot but she always wishes them to sleep well and to have good dreams.

Knees always be a special song for uaenas, because it related to IU's insomnia, back then. See, IU is like idol of idols in South Korea, but the path to that is not easy and quite stressful. IU often mentioned this song in the talk session in concert (she talked a lot in concert, lol), and she often mention this song as one of her favourite too. For me, Knee is a bit special too because this particular video is one of the videos that hooked me as uaenas. The harmony, the flow, the lyrics, the way she sang are so emotional and spoken from heart. Its like IU herself sing to your soul, especially it connect to my problem in life too, and how sometimes I keep thinking about everything before sleep (just like lyrics). FYI, I dont if someone already mentioned, man in keyboard is Kim Jae Hwi, a genius musician who helped IU since 2015's (at that time maybe he still 16 or 17?), one of composers of Through The Night (imagine you are 17 y.o and created one of legendary k-music song in 2010s) . So accurate 🥺 the way their voices blend on this one, love it so much 💜💜 ive been playing this a looooooot, so calming and meditating. Did her sleep get better now? I hope so 🙏🏻 And as for the guy who is doing the piano, yes youve mentioned on dear name, so this guy have been with iu for a long time already coz he also helped iu with eight?? Woooow, love his voice as well on this so he sings too? They are so multitalented 😭💜

Some people said that this song IU write about her grandma. When IU is little she used to live with her grandma and brother in a small 1 bedroom place where there is also cockroaches. Than they moved in with a family member and there IU is told that she will never be a singer and that is why IU really works hard. And the reason why she lives with her grandma is beacause she has gone broke because of debt and she now likes to donate to people that is in need people that went through the same thing as her. She write this song in her diary she never actually think that this is going to be a song. She said that she never cries when she hear her own song but she always felt sad when she hear or sing this song. That is why this is her favorite song. She hopes people that hear this song can sleep well. This is her favorite song from her Chat-Shire Album. I love this song so much i have been singing this song over and over again for days now. Recommended to read the comments while hearing this song. A lot of her fans hearing this song cry ( including me ). More about her Chat-Shire album on 1 of her instagram post at @dlwlrma you can search for a picture of a map with the writing Chat-Shire. There was pictures and hints about the song from her album. She hid characters about the song some of her songs are based of a story book that is why her Chat-Shire album looks like a book.
