When Diana said from 03:29 to 03:35: ".....Charles and I can't go wrong, he's there with me..." That was so ironic.

This is just hard to watch. The guy asked them what they had in common and they didn't even know. And that was before they ever got to the whatever love means.

In hindsight I always wonder: did noone at that time never ever once asked the question, whether it's a good idea a thirty-two year old marrying a 19 year old after only meeting a couple of times?

No, because royal marriages have always been effectively arranged or micromanaged behind the scenes, the Charles and Diana catastrophe is the reason this is no longer the case

Personaly I couldn't believe she was marrying this old man! 19 was very young to marry even then.I thought she'd probably been told she had too. But she seemed happy enough. People were over joyed Ive not experienced a public response like it since.

It all had to do with breeding at that time. Diana was the daughter of an Earl. Still a princess would have been best but she was the most appropriate at the time. In Henry the 8th's time it was all about "Your station" Royalty married Royalty and Peasants married Peasants. Royalty married royalty to not only keep the bloodline "Blue" but for ongoing peace treaties. The Habsburg's were notorious for being inbred as well a ancient Egypt. That is why King Tut was so messed up. It may have Started with Sofie Jones but the current Princess of Wales is really the first commoner to marry into royalty.

“Whatever in love means” - Prince Charles (King Charles now) Poor Diana…. She knew then already he’d always love Camilla and she was trying so hard to have him fall in love with her the way she loved him…. Charles was SUCH a JERK!!! He made sure Camilla knew he still loved her and would never love Diana….Im sorry but I’m American and I always loved Diana and I love Harry and Will but Charles is a pompous jerk who got his “Camilla” in the end… 🙄😑 Hey Chuck, love is how you feel about Camilla you idiot…and clearly not how you ever felt about Diana…. 😢 RIP Diana❤

I honestly do not comprehend people being angry at King Charles still. Princess Diana could have said no. She knew ahead of the wedding he was pressured to marry her and not his true love. She chose to stay. When they finally were allowed to divorce, she was treated well. King Charles and Queen Camilla have been married 18 years, 18 happy years. It's sad the media frenzie ended up killing Diana, however, when she was alive, she was happy w her life post Charles. If you really want Princess Di to rest in peace, give up the hate vigil against her kids" dad.

When he asked about the change from Nanny to being married to the Prince of Wales, Charles could not even look at her. Between "whatever love is" and this reaction around the 3:30 mark told the entire story of just how Charles felt or rather did not feel about Diana. What a sad thing to marry out of duty to produce an heir to someone you are truly not passionate about and Dianna actually being trapped in a situation that was a lose/lose situation.

The FACT that he was in love with another at that time of engagement and then marriage because his dad coerced him into marriage for posterity and Crown of course had nothing to do with the fact he could not look her in the eye, right? 🤣😂🤦‍♀ Diana attempted to pull out of the wedding due to the above recorded and documented FACTS but was dissuaded by her siblings, grandmother and couturiers. Not an opinion, its a matter of documented history and testimony chick-a-dee!

Diana was not used or abused. She was given unimaginable priveledged in that marriage. She got what she had always dreamed of in her teen years. She got to marry the Prince of Wales but true love had nothing to do with it. It was infatuation with the idea of being a Princess.

There is no error made. Perfect interview. Good question were answered are in a Perfect way..

"Whatever in love means, each has their own interpretation." Which is very true. He could have added what love means to him, @diana, but he didn't; which gives the wrong impression that he's not marrying for the spiritual/ emotional/mental/social bond of love that lasts a lifetime.

i think it goes "beyond impression" the then Prince could have/should have said how much in love he was with her, but alas he was not "in love" with her, he was "in love" with Camilla! Regardless of whether or not the prince was still in a physical relationship with Camilla from the very beginning of his marriage to Di, his heart belonged to Camilla, not Diana exclusively. No one will ever know if the marriage would have been successful w/o Camilla in the picture, but if and when you are displeased or unsatisfied with your partner and you have an easy place to "run" and be nurtured outside of the relationship, the other party is hard pressed to be able to work things out, its truly that simple.

Charles III is now "The Defender of the Faith" - against his will. He is a fan of the ideology of Laurens van der Post (compatible with having to wives, for instance) and faiths, whatever that means... Sad. Just so very sad. How many in Britain actually believe in God? I remember seeing the interview at the time...Charles was very philosophical and a deep thinker but on this occasion he made a throw away comment that probably wasn't the most romantic response and now everyone assumes it literally meant he didn't love her, yet he was stroking her hand the whole time which is a very affectionate and reassuring gesture. I don't think too much should be read into any sideways glances or thoughtful expressions while they waited for each other to respond to a question because they were surrounded by a production crew and it must have been pretty intimidating for Diana especially. I remember a Royal photographer who followed them on engagements when they were newly married, said Charles was besotted with Diana and was so proud of her. It is a shame it all went wrong and it is a greater shame that whatever love they had for each other in the beginning has been overshadowed in favour of a negative narrative...

she was deeply insecure and a loose canon this was not her husband's fault nor in his capability to correct she needed help it was very much offered to her but would not take it, refused that there was anything wrong and it was Charles while he was getting therapy as he was destroyed with the marriage. we can view the photos near the end of the marriage and the harrowed faces.

So sad he new he didn't love her bless her so did she but she loved him bless her everyone suffered especially the boys Lett's hope they get it right

He was just in love with someone else I think the entire time. I used to have a lot of books with pictures of their wedding and after. He never really looks happy in the eyes. Kind of how she looked after he said “ whatever love means” 😔

@@top40researcher31 I don’t think it’s fair to speculate on whether or not they were in love - we can’t possibly know how they really felt. But what we do know is that they married and promised to be faithful to each other but unfortunately the prince’s heart belonged to another, as subsequent events clearly showed. So there is no denying that Diana was wronged by the behaviour of Charles and Camilla; and yes, she played it out in the end, but it would, I think, have taken saint-like levels of patience to have sat quietly by and allowed one’s husband to have his cake and eat it - the wife and the mistress - just like princes of wales in the past. Charles is on the whole a decent man - of that I have no doubt - but his behaviour in the past fell far below what one might consider respectable or moral, and there’s no point pretending otherwise. That being said, while he might never garner the worldwide levels of respect and admiration that his late mother did, he will I’m sure make a successful king.

I'm pretty sure in interviews Diana had always said she was completely in love with him, and she wanted him to love her back. It wasn't the idea of being a princess that ultimately made her marry him, it's because she loved him
