I love how the art has the subtle nod to the food stalls unearthed in Pompeii, makes the medieval/fantasy vibe so much more immersive.

only thing making it bad, everything is in bad shape. Those paintings would have been in good condition when ppl were still around.

The food is pretty historical, too. And I say that having the walls, palace, and frescoes run down and falling apart, it adds to the fantasy ambience. The people living in this town now are humbler than the original builders, but they have less to fear.

@@Vinemaple I think it looks a bit like the description of "Frumenty" which is that medieval porridge with veg, herbs and off cuts of meat, no doubt rather tasty too!
Very nice 'breathy' Scarborough Fair cover in the opening, it's really nice how you work it into the changing scenes

I absolutely love how the character blends in with some backgrounds, like her story just one of the thousands in the city. She's just a small piece of a bigger world and I love how immersive and domestic that is.
@n.normal1565

the word domestic.. I haven't heard it associated with familiarity before. I adore it. beautiful!
Who else has gone from “hotly anticipating the release of the comic” to “hotly anticipating Blue Turtle to release a feature length animated film” 😅
I'd love to see an animated kinda drama series in this style slash theme. It reminds me a bit of adventure time, just way more grounded.

ADVENTURE TIME (theme song starts)
These videos make me feel like I’m playing a new Legend of Zelda game for the first time. Incredible feat.
These videos are starting to look more and more like an animated series, and not just nice visuals to go with the music. I think it would make for a great anime!

A sage travels from town to town, searching archive after archive for the answer to a question...one their master couldn't find, but they have promised to keep researching. However, in their travels they find answers to questions they weren't searching for...or would have ever thought to ask, and begin to re-learn an ancient form of magic hidden from the world long ago..... OR Travelling from town to town, our hero is searching for...fun books to read! Everyone thinks they are some wise sage or powerful mage...but really they just have a bit of a natural talent for magic, and the books they read are written by good authors that studied their subject material well. Along the way they develop a reputation for heroism and daring-do...but really they just want to be left alone to read and keep getting pulled into a bunch of stupid adventures. Not alone that, the Big Bad thinks they are studying how to defeat him...so sends agents to stop our hero...

I'd even just happily watch a "slice of life" animation, watching the restaurant-keeper greet and serve customers, and prep food in more complex detail. Interesting and less-obvious looping of passerby... but hey, the focus is the music, right? All this lovely animation is just gravy, and we shouldn't demand more. Love Lewis Tingler's #2, though. And, yes, let's have one without fanservice.

Is this a videogame or anime😭 I need to know this is very beautiful ❤
It gives me memories of the first games where I saw my father playing World of Warcraft, or when I first started playing league of legends, just pure innocence, and the willing to engage into a marvellous adventure, which will surely become a long, long Journey...

I hope that this isn't a rude question - I mean it in the most gently curious way ❤️ How old are you? I'm mid thirties & have a teenager or two, but I still remember playing WoW when I was a lot younger. Not to know for any particular reason or judgement really.. it was just a lovely depiction. It makes me feel both young and old and ageless. ☺️
I'm going to be playing D&D using the Theros setting, and this is going to be the background music! Energetic, inspirational, it really paints a picture

Wonderful animation, something that reminds me of Moebius artwork. Good music, and very immersive ambient. A thousand thanks for the upload ! =)
The scarborough fair at the beginning just takes me to the mythical world. Amazing!
i love you for not monetizing off these. it makes me want to donate to your patreon. im really thankful.

It puts me in a better mood in the morning. I have to go to work that I don't particulary like, but my D&D adventures that I write for my friends in my spare time give me hope, and this music contributes greatly to this! 🗡
Ahh I love this feeling when I wake up and go to write another session and there's a new video of yours. Thanks for your inspiration. You helped me put my dreams into words.

I'm so glad I found your channel about a year ago. I like being a part of this group!
You deserve so much. I hope you know that. This is beautiful, not only artistically, but all the little touches. The bells on the sheep, the guard eating soup, the torn paintings in the dinner
This is so beautiful and immersive, as always! Thank you for your lovely art.
Still gonna say, this channel is the only one to give actually new songs for each playlist, it's always amazing to hear music that isn't the same 10 royalty free songs on repeat
I love how there's a story behind the music :)
Leaving a comment to feed the algorithm gods: Thank you so much for uploading these Blue Turtle! They're lots of fun to study to, and the amount of effort you put into the animation is mind-boggling. As somebody who enjoys fantasy and has some characters of my own, I find it very inspiring. I eagerly await the next episode in Ithyä's adventure!
I absolutely adore the art style used in these videos, there's a perfect blend of heavy and minimal details that just makes it look and feel so immersive. I'd love to be able to draw like that.
Far Over the Highlands song Christoffer Moe Ditlevsen is in the latest Fall of Civilizations Podcast episode! It starts at 53:52 in that episode. It's the Carthage episode. I was so happy and surprised to hear it again in a video about my favorite seafaring civilization.
I always listen to your playlists when working and watching your art. It's truly calming and inspiring! I'm excited for your new video. Can't wait for another episode of the journey followed by amazing music :) Thank you for your hard work!
Hey, I believe I've now watched every episode of Ithya's journey! I love this series, please do keep it up!
We ve been Moving stuff and cleaning an attic. Your music accompanied us all along. At times, I felt like a hero. Thank you :)
I haven't commented much on your work so far but I often find myself listening to them while I write my sessions. They're amazing and you should be proud.
This is THE perfect playlist for the autumn and winter seasons!
I love that you snuck in "Scarborough Fair" :) Lovely music. Thanks for putting it together.
OOOOOOHH!!! Another one of these, they're so awesome!!!
WHAT DID I JUST DISCOVER, WHAT IS THIS, THIS IS SO GOOOOOD
I just wanted to say thank you. I play your video on repeat while doing homework or studying. They are so relaxing.
Thank you for allowing me to tag along on this adventure with you. It's a comfort to escape my overcast world and enter Ithya's. Your art and the accompanying music does a beautiful job of bringing it to life. :)
"Highland Hymn" 11:38 is so well produced and composed. As a musician, it was a wonderful experience.
I like the atmosphere in these, the period between late antiquity and the early medieval age when an old empire is in disrepair. I've always been attracted to this point in history for some reason.
this is really beautiful! studio ghibli vibes :)

I rarely comment anywhere, but just know that to me, what you do is important enough to personally let you know. Honestly, everything you do to feed your graphic novel is, in my opinion, peak worldbuilding and has become a true inspiration for my own work. Keep it up, can't wait to see more!
The most amazing thing, is that's not a single playlist, but a part of a great story, with animation and background
This is so relaxing to watch, I feel like I'm on a peaceful journey just hanging out with Ithya
You just outdid yourself, man! Big time!
Aw man, a restaurant right out of Pompeii. Love it.
This one is one of my favourites on here. Next to the Rainy Day Piano ones! :D i can almost here 'Scarborough Fair' in the background of it
oh the Adriel Fair track at 50:45 came on and made me stop everything to look up what it was! thank you so much for all of these, i love this video
Wow! This is a great improvement in your animation skills, and another absolutely classic playlist!
The world building is immaculate
I'm just impressed that these mixes have gorgeous art and animations. Even good sound effects to boot. Been listening to a lot of these mixes while writing my book, it's criminal that I hadn't seen these videos earlier.
Its cool to write adventures listenig to your music. Be proud of it
Love the cover of Scarborough fair
Those are some serious Moebius-Vibes in the beginning there!
Blue Turtle, you've done it again! Another banger playlist
I’ve been looking for something like this for YEARSSSSSS. WHERE HAS THIS BEEEEN
The animation and music compilations you have been putting out are top-notch. I took issue with the "fantasy music for study" but all your latest stuff feels directly out of fantasy. It's the perfect place for my mind to be right now. Thank you!
This honestly looks like the place where one 1980s Hayao Miyazaki anime style film would be centered around
It's so great like a nostalgic adventure feeling. I love it
I love this with my entire heart
This looks like the Lion Gate at Mycenae. Very cool, I'm pumped.
This and the coastal village are my favorite, thanks for making these!
The Norman Kings is my favorite one. Love it!
I really like the subtle touches of sound design along the music ! Such an niche playlist, as all the others. You never disappoint !
Your artistry never ceases to amaze-this creation is not just beautiful; it's an immersive experience that transcends the visual and resonates on a deeply emotional level.
honestly, a freaking masterpiece. Pulled me out of a rough patch in my dissertation write up. Thank you so much!
Perfect timing, I'm finishing a project in the nick of time and your playlists are so relaxing, yet motivating to work to! Also I _adore_ the animations, they just get better and better
okay but like- that guy on the intro from the gates eating food was kinda cute
How lovely! I've been writing a novel and this new mix is just wonderful to listen to while writing! The animation is amazing as well! The color palettes you use for the scenes are so nice! The ambiance really shines through, can't wait to see more of Ithya's travels!
YESSSS, missed this channel. Haven't listened in a while and thought about your channel the other day but couldn't remember what the name was. FINALLY

I'm trying to write while this is on, but I constantly feel drawn back to this. I just want to keep staring at these beautiful animations. Fantastic work!
