    At about 7:38, Michael says, "If you weren't spiritual before withdrawal, I can guarantee you will be by the time you finish....you need something bigger than yourself to get you through." As one who somehow managed to come off two powerful ADs, effexor and mirtazapine, I'd say he's right about that.

    Same! Paxil withdrawal turned me from an atheist to someone who is spiritual and believes there must be something bigger than myself. Interesting that this phenomenon happens to so many in WD.

    Thank you so much for your continual posting on the subject. Also I want to thank you so much for your acknowledgement that the popular term Benzo Withdraw is completely inappropriate. That term along with "abuse" was campaigned by big pharma to place the blame on the individual for withdrawing or abusing this safe, medication. The truth is that from the first dose ingested the drug begins to cause biological damage to the brain receptors as well as additional damage. The accurate term for this condition is " Benzodiazapine Toxic Poisoning " please help to promote this term for this condition throughout the community . Thanks again, Gene Murphy

    Most doctors I've met are nice people until I mention benzo withdrawal syndrome. Then they become instantly defensive, sarcastic and hostile. 6-7 months into forced cold turkey, on clonazepam 2mg for 7-8 years. Thank you for making this video. I've stopped watching benzo withdrawal vids; for the most part. I found only a small few that are helpful, this is one.

There are so many on here that don't mean to but they scare me as I am in my 14th month of tapering off of 1.5 mg of clonazepam. As of June 14 I will no longer be on the medication and I have been feeling some healing throughout the taper along with other sensation of course as you describe but I stay positive knowing that those too will pass. Thank you for clarifying about being encouraging on your feed. We need this now more than ever. I am so happy that you are well and helping others. You certainly have helped me today. Unfortunately many of us are put on this medication for a reason and I had to learn the hard way. I thank you for your encouragement but it is important that we listen to our bodies and know when something is not right. My doctor saved me and I thank God that I did not ignore it. The last ssri was cymbalta which seemed to go alright but two days after stopping the Xanax he'll set in. I completely lost my balance and it's almost like a can't think anymore. For the last 6 weeks it's been like I have brain damage

  • @TheLovelyGrind

    @TheLovelyGrind

    The "brain damage" feeling is scary, but it will get better. It all will. It takes time for the system to get used to these medications, and it takes time for the system to get used to living without them. Just find little ways to survive and even find happiness and new perspective day by day until enough time has passed. I'm glad you found the videos, and stay connected.

    I need my teeth fixed... I need dentures for the top... Was on 2 or 3mg a day Klonopin for close to 2 years ... On day 9 of withdrawal ... Not sleeping hardly at all and have waves of adrenaline type feeling and a burning sensation in my shoulders and chest that were the worst on day 5 and have been less and less every day and only comes in waves... I had really bad anxiety at first but that's getting better too each day it seems like ... My question is, do you know if I should postpone my dental work? Is there danger in getting that stuff done? My teeth are in really bad shape from hereditary gum disease... But if I'm more prone to infection I don't want to get it done? ... Do you know anything about this?

    One frustrating thing about withdrawls is the misinformation. Like the symptoms will start by one time, and end by another. For example I went from 20 to 15 mg paxil and it took 2 weeks before the body pains, and flu symptoms hit. I had the brain zaps within a few days but the flu like symptoms, insomnia (from leg spasms), and horrible panic attacks didn't happen until 2 weeks or so of just a 5 mg drop. I ended up going back to 20 mg and it took me over a year to get back to myself (they say it takes a few days).... I was not prepared at all for this. I'm thinking of trying again in the future but am now aware of what can happen, and your video's are an inspiration, thank you.

    I took 30 mg of Paxil for 24 years Iv been off it now for 37 days today has been a very good day. hardly any withdrawal but some days I have very good days. some days are very bad. Horrifically Bad!!! at least in the beginning they were. Massive brain zaps. Vertigo. Ligjtheadednes. Nausea. Head and neck preasure. Not hungry at all. Cold all over.. Some days I feel headaches. Worse symptom iv ever had from withdraw was a huge preasure feeling in my stomach.. It had a dull electric pain with it.. Hurt a lot !! That sensation went up through my neck into my head my head felt like it was going to explode!! electric shocks all at one time!! scared that shit out of me !! Not literally... that was about 30 days out from when I quit taking Paxil and that lasted about 25 minutes Non-Stop I was crying hard. I saw my doctor the next day. He said you can't have withdraw after 30 days kregg. He told me im imgining it. And that its just a panic attack. I started at him and i was thinking ... This guy is full of shit!!! Then he told me to go back on Paxil and I told him no way I will never take another SSRI drug again!! He said ok.. I cant help you. I walked away.. But as if day 37 the only thing I'm having a very hard time was is insomnia I barely get sleep and it drives me crazy!!! I'm always so tired and I feel so weak !!

    So glad you enjoy the videos! My opinion on adding another medication into the mix is always something to avoid if possible. Something like a beta blocker isn't going to be terrible for you, but it might not have the monumental anti-restlessness effects you want either, at least not long-term (and then later you have to quit that med; and what does it do to your body short-term?). So, the decision is up to you; it won't make or break you either way, but what will be more important is the other health and happiness decisions you make going forward. Keep at it! It will get better!

  • @TheLovelyGrind

    @TheLovelyGrind

    5 жыл бұрын

    At one point I considered checking myself in to the Mayo clinic to get evaluated from a health standpoint, but I never seriously considered any sort of external treatment program. Instead, I worked to create my own weekly "treatment program" by taking care of myself and moving farther away from the medications that caused me harm. But, if you ever find a program that you feel might be helpful in your specific situation, you ought to pursue it; we all need to find healing and support however we can. Just make sure that any sort of program truly addresses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, because we all need to pay attention to all of those aspects of well-being in order to find lasting improvements.

  • @TheLovelyGrind

    That answer is going to be individual, but it will come back. And based on the amount of medication and the amount of time on the medication in your situation, I would say sooner rather than later, if you are taking good care of yourself. Find ways to relax the mind, and the sleep will follow.

    Yes, it is not just your imagination. The Paxil is a bad withdrawal also, so you are no doubt getting a bit of a double dose of everything at the same time. But things will keep improving for you in the coming months. And I would say that in six months you will be reaching a huge healing milestone. However, try to not focus on timetables too intensely. Just give yourself what you need day by day right now. Get a little walking when you can for exercise, try to avoid too much caffeine and stress, read devotions and journal for spiritual practices, and rest and relax with books, movies etc. whenever needed. Stay connected here. I will have more videos (and blog posts over at my website www.lovelygrind.com). Stay strong. You're doing great and the light is there at the end of the tunnel.

I don't consider myself lucky, though: I made a lot of changes in my life that aided recovery, and I'm grateful to God for sticking with me throughout. I'm very grateful, and I wish others healing, too. I believe that anyone--even if they've been suffering for five years--can still find significant measures of healing. I still have some issues at times, anxiety or anger or sleeplessness or fatigue, but life is pretty good (and I still marvel at how much better it is than four or five years ago). • @TheLovelyGrind

    @TheLovelyGrind

    7 жыл бұрын

    The symptoms are too numerous to list all of them here, but a few were: terrible leg, nose, head, and back pains along with a sensation of the brain moving around in the skull, extreme fatigue, depression, increased anxiety, sleeplessness, night sweats, loss of appetite, depersonalization/derealization, and a perpetual feeling of being hungover. Everything gets better with each passing month, but for me the withdrawal lasted a couple of years more or less. And as far as the blood pressure meds, it's hard to say where the cycle starts. A person has less energy/motivation to eat right and exercise after taking the Paxil and Xanax, so weight goes on, BP goes up, and the BP meds are prescribed and then increase along with the dosages of the other meds. And once a person is on meds, some doctors just keep going and going with the prescriptions instead of trying to find an actual path out of the woods. It is really a total health picture. And FYI, even the BP meds had pretty extreme withdrawal effects coming off, so those need to be tapered and the process carefully monitored as well. Stay in touch with questions. I will have some videos about specific symptoms in the future.

Even for people who have never gone through withdrawal, every day isn't a home run in terms of being able to focus/concentrate/experience mental peace. I think you will hit some progress in the next while if you rest as needed, exercise when possible, eat healthy most of the time, and yes, resume a meaningful spiritual life. Why do I believe in God? I was raised Christian, but when I went through withdrawal, reality become different for me and spirituality became more personal. I realized that most of the things we focus on everyday are distractions, and I began focusing on the deeper meanings behind our suffering (and the divine lessons taught and power displayed through our healing). If this short existence of pain is all we have, then human life would be a joke or cruel accident and I don't accept that. If you read nothing else of the Bible, please check out the words of Jesus in the Gospels. The pain of withdrawal is terrible, but without that sort of pain some people go their entire lives just focused on the distractions of career, Facebook, popularity, money, possessions, etc. We can use our pain for something deeper. I'm thinking of you and your continued healing. Please take care and stay connected.

    God poured all His anger about human sin on Jesus that is why I believe in God who is love and did not cause this hell the devil brought. I don't dare ever accuse God, that is what Satan the fallen covering angel is best at. I pray you can know God loves you and dreamed you up and created you and sings over you and saved you forever. Make Jesus your Savior and Lord no matter what comes in this life you will be saved from what is coming to renew the heavens and earth ❤

    Ha! Great way to phrase that, Eddie! Don't worry. If you keep walking forward and do the right things for your health, eventually life will get a little more "boring" in a good way. Take care!
