Spanoulis effect, he said it in his greek interview that main goals is every free shot to be taken no matter if it goes in or out and secondly winning mentality . Dark offensive horse is Toliopoulos, he has a killer instinct if he feels trusted and supported.
Calathes is definitely playing the best basketball of his career and he was vital especially in the last game against Croatia.
You always hating Greece. First it was Panathinaikos in the EuroLeague, secondly was the national team of Greece. Either way, happy to prove the doubters wrong.
Shoutout to calathes man
Finally some respect for the greek team. Slovenia was obviously much worse than Greece, as was Croatia.
You are very popular in Greece, you know basketball and you have a European perspective on things.
As a Hellenic NT fan I have always so much respect for Luka and Slovenia Basketball Team. We love to see Europeans like Luka excel in the NBA game.
The different results and performances we have seen from several national teams throughout these past 4 summers prove how competitive the basketball landscape has got worldwide. Up until 10-15 years ago, Team USA was several steps ahead of everyone else, than there was a small list of competitive national teams that were not on the same level as Team USA but clearly better than the rest. Now I can recall AT LEAST 15 national teams that are not far from each other in terms of talent and efficiency. I say that because we have seen a national team achieve great results one summer 1 year before or after achieving a pretty disappointing one. This means that details like a coach's impact on the team and the single players, the mental and physical condition of a single player and many other details are going to have a HUGE impact on a game's final score.
Do us all a favor please and stop talking about Antetokoumpo. Its been a gruelling decade, for the first time in its glorious history the greek national team has been sidelined and all the focus taken up by a single player and his posse and its been all failure anyway.
Giannis' brother is the GOAT.
Even the most remote elementary school in Greece has a basketball court.
Giannis gravity is the key💙🤍
Spanoulis the GOAT
You keep mentioning that defence helped us (especially vs Slovenia), because offensively "Greece roster is limited". But we scored 96 against Slovenia, 93 vs Egypt, 109 vs Dom and "only" 80 against Croatia.
We love your coverings on these tourneys!
Thanks guys. Pure basketball lovers. Greetings from Hellas(Greece).
Greece played a smart game utilising Giannis where it was needed. The team cannot be build around Giannis because it neutralises many great assets that Greece has and Spanoulis can use to increase the teams efficiency! Yes when the going get tough then Giannis might take over for a few minutes but he is very conscious and can judge how to utilise his teammates!
- Donatas seeing Greek NT fans: “My brothers!”
Greece is a good team, but there are monster teams in the Olympics, like USA, Spain, & Serbia… Cheers from Greece.
