It also slightly makes more sense that Cody is more engaged with dr. Hakim than May in their encounters, and by the end actually respects him and agrees with him that they must help May to make a perfomance.

Really good story, and I like the message because really, divorce isn't the only solution, and if there's a chance to reconnect it should be given a shot, even if it ultimately ends up not working well enough to stay together, you may be able to find some middle ground and remain friends. It's especially important when kids are involved, since say what you will, divorce ALWAYS effects the child the most.

Having parents who divorced when I was young I felt exactly how Rose felt and man this ending still makes me cry. I'm glad my parents were able to become friends but man it's a terrible feeling, and I thought this game captured that feeling perfectly!

I am crying, as soon as she started reading of how rose blamed herself and decides to get away to make sure they can mend it struck something in me. This hit deep!

I honestly hope this wins game of the year. It’s inventive, unique, and manages to be incredibly uplifting and hopeful despite the subject matter. The two lead performances also deserve a lot of applause. They really felt like a real couple going through their problems and rediscovering their love for one another.

Tbh a better message would be to not let your divorce affect your children. If both the parents are a in a relationship they don't want to be in, they shouldn't pretend everything is okay because that's terrible for them, but also don't talk shit about the other one or make your child choose one of you, because that's terrible for the child.

I think the reason they didn't was because it'd kind of shit on the entire journey they took together. A magical adventure can't just fix that sort of situation. If it did, it'd cheapen it super bad. By leaving it open (But heavily implied they stay together and work things out) it generally comes out on top.

As sweet at this games ending is, and couples who are having rough patches can absolutely work things out, I’d just like to give a shout out to the people who absolutely should get divorced. Divorce can be the healthiest option. There’s nothing wrong with you for getting divorced. Sometimes it’s seriously the best thing you can do. However, if you get divorced you really need to help your children understand why. And one parent shouldn’t take sole responsibility and the other just fade out of their lives. If you have a kid, you’re responsible for them for as long as they need you. Just because you’re ex spouse and you might not be in a romantic relationship anymore doesn’t mean that you can’t be partners in raising children. Anyways, just wanted to make sure someone whose gotten divorced doesn’t feel villainized.

So oddly enough the passions piece was very on point for me and my husband. He does a lot of gardening and yard work and I used to sing. That combined with the amazing story had me bawling by the end.

I played this game with my partner. He picked May, I picked Cody, which was perfect. I can be a bit of a dope, ands he's a neurotic, perfectionist audiophile. Couldn't have been a better match for us. While the game is great (seriously, one of our favourites), this really turns into Mays game by the end. Cody gets a "I'm sorry honey, I should have supported you like you do for me", which is great, but May gets an entire final level dedicated to her perfectionism and how she abandoned her singing career over it, she gets the solo walk onto stage, the song, just so much more attention and focus, and it's the final part of the game. Kind of soured my experience a little, but it brought him to tears, so what the fuck ever, worth it in the end!

Not everything they interacted with reflected the real world. They were parallels to things in the real world.

Anything to do with kids being sad messes me up. I usually feel like it's emotionally manipulative but if things work out okay in the end, like here, I can get on board.
