I wanted to dedicate this video to two very lovely people I met on YT: the first is Ellie (EllieLupin91), who to me is the Queen of AUs with her awesome SW/HP series, so this video is for her first! {Ti voglio bene Ellie! e grazie per l'aiuto preziosissimo, con la clip e con il masking - che per ora è abbastanza carente, ma ci lavorerò ^^}
The second is, once again, Jo...because she's gone through a very difficult time this summer, but she overcame it with the strenght and courage of a real Jedi Master. I love you so much my friend, and I will always be there for you whenever you call!
~end of personal stuff, back to business xD~
Now about the plot -- I'm back with a new AU! It seems my AUs always revolve around young Luke or Leia...I just like the idea too much! So, like in my other video, all clips of young Anakin in Ep. I you'll see here are actually meant to portray little Luke.
The intro starts with Anakin not turning to the darkside (I love him too much to make him become evil in AUs as well! ^^); he kills Palpatine instead, and saves the Republic. Unfortunately, this doesn't prevent his nightmares about Padme to come true, and soon both she and baby Leia actually die in childbirth. Anakin is left alone and heartbroken with newborn Luke; but he can't take care of the boy all on his own, because he's a Jedi, so he decides with a heavy heart to leave him in front of the Jedi Temple. Obi-Wan finds the baby and takes him into the Temple to train him as a Jedi, as Anakin watches hidden from not very far.
Years pass, and Anakin tries to go on with his Jedi life, but he can't forget his lost love, nor can he forget his son, and he keeps watching over him in secret. Luke has become a Padawan now, and one day he hears his fellow Padawans talking about Master Anakin Skywalker, wondering why he always looks so forlorn and never talks to anyone. The boy is curious about him, so he bets with the other kids that he will succeed in speaking to him. Luke finds Anakin in the Council Room, and they start to talk; he is surprised because the Jedi Master seems uncommonly friendly with him, and somehow familiar. Slowly the two become close, Luke likes the strange, silent Master's company, and often looks for him to talk. Anakin on his part can't help but love his son dearly: he knows he shouldn't spend so much time with the boy, but he loves having him around, and he can finally have a part in his son's life. The two spend a lot of time together when Luke isn't training, talking, going around and flying together, something which they're both very talented at. But one day Anakin has a conversation with Obi-Wan, who tells him that he noticed his attachment to the boy, that he should know attachments are forbidden for a Jedi; he warns Anakin that the Council might not be happy with his behaviour. In fact, some days later, both Anakin and Luke are called before the Council, and Yoda confronts Anakin with his behaviour going against the Jedi Code. Anakin then confesses that Luke is his son, and everyone is stunned by the revelation. The Council immediately expels Anakin from the Order; Luke begs his father not to go, but he has to. Anakin has nothing to live for after this, he's not a Jedi anymore, nor he has got his wife or son with him: so he dies of a broken heart, his last thoughts about Padmé and Luke. Obi-Wan finds him dead, and he's filled with sorrow and regret, and Yoda too, because they feel they are the ones who killed him by separating him from Luke. Anakin has a Jedi funeral, and when Luke discovers his father is dead he is sad and shocked.
Years pass again, and Luke is all grown up and a Jedi Knight, but he keeps thinking of his lost father everytime. One day, however, Sidious's spirit comes back to take his revenge on Anakin who destroyed him, by killing his son. Luke tries to fight the Force ghost, but he loses his lightsaber, and Sidious starts torturing him with Force lightning. In his agony, Luke calls his father for help, and Anakin's ghost actually appears. The two spirits fight and, finally, Anakin defeats Sidious again. Luke and his father smile at each other...no matter what, they'll always be together through the Force.
Well, that was long! I hope you had patience enough to read until the end -- but, I think the video shouldn't be too hard to follow, in any case. Please let me know your thoughts, and I hope you enjoy! (And forgive my horrible first attempts at masking ^^'')

It's like Luke knew the real Anikan before he became Vader
As sketchy as the editing is, I actually really found myself enjoying this AU. Anakin falling into depression, being reminded of Padme every time he looked at his son but ultimately bonding with him, and Obi-Wan warning him about his attachment, was all a very engaging story. I wasn't expecting Anakin to die, and tears actually sprang to my eyes. I knew his Force Ghost would return, though, and I really liked how you made Sidious come back. Interesting AU, indeed.

😂 yeah, sketchy is _the_ word for it! I'm always rather embarrassed of the number of views on this one, when I know with certainty I could do a concept like this 10000000x justice now. So happy you still appreciated the story though!
This is amazing. the first time I watched this I didn't understand the story but after reading the description I understood. I really hit me in the heart. I've even been making up my own stories about the kids. A few of them include Padme living to raise the kids.
I kind of love this, actually. I always thought Anakin deserved more than what the movies gave him, especially after watching Clone Wars. Though I don't think Padme would have died if Anakin had refused to go dark, this was great. The parts where little Luke and Anakin are interacting are adorable and exactly how I would imagine Anakin being a dad. Now I just want this as a movie...and that sucks.

I love it when people take a little time to write more than the fact they just liked/disliked the video :) I actually agree with you on Padmé not dying if he didn't choose the path he ended up choosing...it was a typical tragic mechanism that he in the end was the cause of what he so desperately wanted to avoid and went dark for in the first place. I just didn't really have a place for her in this particular storyline, so that seemed a neat (if painful) solution. I agree on Anakin as a dad too - one of the things that makes me the saddest in thinking "what-ifs" about him is that I really, really think he would have made a great dad to the twins, and he just took all of that away with his own hands (and Palpatine's "help", of course) :'(

irydionlover93 You're welcome! I like discussing plots and characterization (I'm a writer) so thanks for being open to hearing my opinion on Anakin. It really is a cute - albeit tragic - alternate storyline you've got going on. I had always wondered what would've happened if he had just done the right thing in that one, defining moment. Judging by how he treated Ahsoka, he would have been a good dad. Oh the feels...

Of course, if there's one thing I could go on and on endlessly about is discussing my favourite fictional characters - so you'd best be careful with encouraging me, lol! It's amazing that you're a writer, too :) may I ask what you like to write about? I've tried my hand at fanfiction sometimes, but I don't have much patience when it comes to write through a whole plot. I usually find expressing myself through visual form is way more immediate for me, but I admire good writers a lot (and have been a total bookworm since I was little). I haven't seen the whole of TCW (I definitely plan to at some point or the other!), but yes, him being a good Master to Ahsoka definitely tells a lot of what his parenting abilities would have been...sigh, if only. I especially think him and Leia would have been amazing partners in crime when she got a little older, because her personality is actually a lot more similar to Anakin's than Luke's in my opinion - so it's especially sad to me that in canon these two only ever knew each other as enemies :(

irydionlover93 Ha ha, I'm pretty sure I could make an entire career out of blogs dedicated to analyzing fictional character development and the intricacies of plot lol. I'm more of a novelist but I would love to do fanfiction if I had time. I mostly write speculative/science fiction and fantasy, although I wouldn't be opposed to writing other genres if I had a decent story to run with. I think I love dissecting the psychology of characters because it helps me to understand what backstory factors create interesting and solid characters of my own. You, my dear, are a very good visual storyteller. Most people who love to create stories don't end up making it as authors only because it takes gritty determination and hours of perseverance to finish something that then still requires WEEKS to MONTHS of hard editing and re-writing (trust me, it's the most frustrating process). So I like to see when others are able to tell a story without writing books. It gets the stories out there. Often using visual media is easier to digest anyways. As for Anakin...yes. The fact that he and his little girl are so similar kills me because, as you said, they only ever knew each other as enemies. It breaks my heart. He had so much potential. But every good story needs a villain and every good redemption story needs a fall to darkness. It would have been nice if he at least got to hold her before all hell broke loose. A memory he could take with him. The fact that he says, "Tell your sister you were right about me" is so huge because I'm not even sure he knew who Luke's sister even was. He wanted to be certain that his daughter knew how much cared too.
This was epic and emotional I was sad Padme still died along with Leia but very tribute to a father and son.
Found this vid when I was around 10 years old. 16 now, glad I found this again. God do the feels hit hard.

Wow! That was super awesome! I really enjoyed how Luke didn't know it was Anakin and how you used other films with Hayden Christensen. I enjoyed the plot-line a lot. And I never realized how much Jake Lloyd look alike.

Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the story! In the Episode I extras you can see Lucas comparing pictures of Mark Hamill and the kids who auditioned for Anakin's role, and Jake was definitely the most similar to Luke :3

That's okay, I hate when people focus on the negatives of a character to determine who they are. Anyway, I loved this video, it's beautiful and amazingly edited. Poor Anakin, but it's still a better fate than being Vader I guess. The story was excellent, I'm glad i came across it.

BY The Force!!!! Vale, that was amazing!!! i remember you saying you had a au about luke and anakin but i never expected that! I read the story and i was like this is going to be great but i was blown away! I was in tears when Anakin died leaving Luke beautiful and the effects amazing clips perfect, song perfect mindblowing, one of the best aus I've seen!! excellent!! 5 stars for sure, i would say 10 but can't lol a fav playlisted and i'm sharing this one with friends!

Have you read the books? The Revenge of the Sith Novel is great for understanding Anakin's motives better. You see his inner turmoil and there's allot more reluctance when he bow's down to Palpatine he even say's he can't kill his friends and family, rather than just "I'll do whatever you ask, just help me save Padme." As you read it you actually see the effects of the Dark side on him. He loses himself more and more as the novel goes on.

I actually get so mad at the Council in the canon-verse already…if they had been more understanding maybe all of what happened could’ve been avoided. I feel like Anakin had his faults but so had they. Anyway, thank you again

@Keybearer001 I actually have had an idea for a Vader/Leia vid for some time now, I just have to wait to have some time more from school now, because AUs are complicated, and I like to have a decent story behind them :) thank you for the suggestions though! I may think of some alternative scenarios with Padmé as well =) and btw, I've already made an AU with all the 4 Skywalkers, but it was a lot of time ago and it isn't my best I can tell.
