It's been a rough week...

February has not been the best month for me. I have been feeling super rundown and exhausted. In today's video I talk about what's been going on and how I am dealing with this.

Thank you for being honest and sharing when you are not 100 percent happy, happy. I'm feeling like a failure this week and I'm still on all my mental health meds. Every carnivore success story talks about getting off all of their meds. I got off all diabetes, triglyceride meds. I was exercising and life in general seemed going in the right direction. Then an EKG caught an AFIB episode last summer and gee, snap of the fingers my doc took me off ADHD meds and reduced depression meds, no tapering, 11 years stable ...."let's just change it up", and threw me into four months of instability and I still feel effected.

Hello! Yea, mental health meds take some time to come off of. That's wild your doc didnt taper. I havent been on meds for over a decade, but I know when I was coming off of them it took a few years to feel "normal," if I ever really feel normal LOL. It takes a long time for the body to heal, so dont feel disheartened. And sometimes meds are really helpful and its better to stay on them❤

I have been carnivore for over a year going on 2 and yesterday I messed up because of Valentine’s Day. Exercise especially weight training helps. Sounds like your body is telling you to slow down and you're listening. Rest, relax, and recoup. The body goes in cycles and sometimes daily routines can become daunting. It's just like groundhog day and the body says "that's enough." The other day I was so exhausted all day and had trouble keeping my eyes open. It was a weird day. I passed out at 8 pm and woke up at 3 am like a new man. I'm one of those people that looks into things that affect our body and geometric storms can lower your tolerances to physical and mental stress. Kudos to you. We’re on this journey for different reasons, and i value your content. (And try to say so often. We all need the love). AN IDEA re comments etc. i used to use a scraper to pull all comments from my various sites into one bucket. Some sites let me do it with RSS and others needed a human to copy paste. I used a tasking site to get the human to copy paste. So once a week it would all be aggregated and a different tasker would flag things to respond to and insights. Sometimes the negative comments have a good idea buried and it can be challenging to get past the “sounds cranky”. The tasker would just grab the insights. So the top few pages would have insights and the rest of the doc would be the full pull. Some weeks i did not get past the insights. Bold weeks i might. Having all of that in a doc also kinda desensitized the situation. Not completely but enough. ❤❤

Every job has its own individual stresses but youtube is unique because it invites people to critique your work which isn't generally what we do in our normal jobs. I'm a retired therapist and what I applaud you for is the great awareness you have for realising that things are a bit off for you at the moment and doing things to balance these feelings. It a video does good you get the worst people of the internet leaving comments. Just ignore them. Don’t worry, you are doing great 👍 Eventually your skin gets thicker and you don’t care as much. Have you tried limiting your protein intake to 1gxlb of ideal body weight and keep the protein/fat ration to 1g/2g? People who were doing badly with carbs usually get insulin spikes from high protein diets after they lean out. It might take some time before your body will start to handle high protein correctly.

@@aprilhassell1747 Hi, Yes, so extreme hunger is a symptom you can experience during perimenopause. I'm 52 and just started dealing with perimenopause about a year ago. I started with some hot flashes, mood swings, fatigue, mild weight gain, mild insomnia, some heart palpitations, mild hair loss, and my cycles started to shorten, which happens first. I skipped only one period last summer, otherwise, I am still getting monthly periods, but now the cycles are starting to get longer so like 40 days. There's a ton of crazy symptoms that you can experience during this time. I found a natural hormone supplement which seems to be helping quite a bit, so a lot of these symptoms seem to be leveling off now. I'm fortunate though, because most women start suffering in their 40's and I only just started last year at age 51, but that's because I've worked so hard at making health and nutrition a priority for most of my life, and now recently I'm transitioning into carnivore.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been out of it, hopefully you recover soon. If I may just leave you with some suggestions to try out, just to eliminate any unknown factors. Have you tried eating some liver? Liver always bumps me up, and I don't crave it at all, I have to force myself to eat it. But once I do, I feel good again. My second idea, honestly a bit hesitant to say this, but maybe fruit? Just good old natural fruit. I think Saladino might be on to something. And finally, check if your Boron levels are good. That's all I can really think of: 1. Liver 2. Fruit 3. Boron Carnivore is not supposed to make you feel tired or sleepy or hungry (it's all meat, how can you be feeling hunger?). Get plenty of rest as well! Fingers crossed for some good news next time you upload! Take care!

Why not try adding a salad or/and a fruit bowl to your daily meals and see if that helps, if not, then just go back to carnivore. Also magnesium and potassium can play a role in fatigue, so although you're taking electrolyte supplements, the best way to get your potassium for example would be through whole fruits and vegetables. According to UK government guidelines, the recommended daily intake of potassium for women is approximately 3500mg per day. Although the recommendations are going to vary depending where you live I guess🙂

I am T2D and was doing regular extended fasting, when I had a back injury. I was not able to exercise for 4 months, my blood glucose went sky high, I ate less in an attempt to get the blood sugar down, I lost muscle, I am sure my metabolism dropped. No energy to get back into exercise. It was a vicious circle.
