I’m 60 and agree! The sad thing is, when I was at what is now my goal weight, I looked fantastic but felt fat, or that I could look even better if only I was a size smaller. Why do we do this to ourselves?

I’m here to say something similar… I’m 38 and struggled with weight for 25 years (used to be naturally skinny and since my twins have ballooned!!) but this was sooooo straight forward. Thank you!

@@lightfulynx Your comment intrigued me so I took a look at your channel (very good!) and watched your introductory “Embrace Your Inner Dork” video. You speak very naturally and powerfully but I think you’re being SUPER hard on yourself if you say you’ve “ballooned”. It’s important to eat well and live a healthy lifestyle, so that’s good; but I think you should remember how attractive you are and feel good about that.
I lost 25 pounds and used all the olive or avocado oil I wanted in cooking and salad dressing. I figured the oil was healthy, and I needed it, and it worked for me.

@@reseyworldexactly. Fat is the most calorie dense macronutrient, and if it's not paired with fiber and/or protein, it's usually not as filling. I find fat from nuts to be more satisfying than fat from plain oil.

It can be healthy if not over used. Olive and avocado oil are considered healthy fats because of what they're usually paired with: protein and fiber. Avocado (fruit) is also a healthy fat because it's usually paired with something with fiber and protein.

Thanks a bunch for the useful habits! Many of them I've already incorporated into my lifestyle. Like many women I struggled with weight gain due to hormonal reasons for a long time and aspect health really helped me out. I recommend it to anyone dealing with a similar issue.
I agree with EVERY tip! Reducing oil and adding more veg were the two things that helped me the most. Complete game changers. I also focused on “more movement” instead of an exercise routine. So now I walk a lot more, dance around my house, and take the stairs instead of the elevator. It works for me!
OMG I absolutely LOVE the 10th tip! That is my favourite tip! I'm going to make "Dont miss twice" my rule of thumb for now on.I was trying to come up with "consequences" for whenever I have a slip up but to tell myself "dont miss twice" THAT is a good consequence. I'll tell myself that if I eat wrong one day, eat right the next.

It’s a game changer.
I have been obsessively watching weightloss videos and yes, some of the tips are run of the mill but the way you explain and go into each one is really helpful and it makes me feel more engaged. The last one hit me like a truck. I love it and it makes so much sense. I hope to implement it in my journey.
Thank you for these videos. Your weight loss tips are so approachable and practical! The tips are all familiar, yet I feel like you're my personal coach/cheerleader motivating and inspiring me to keep going!
from someone who was for a long time “thicker”. I have dieted to lose weight and I have changed my diet to become healthier so many times for years and this is what finally helped: - dont quit something but limit it - weigh your food and inform yourself about portion sizes - do not quit oil, it adds so much flavour and pleasure to eating.. simply reduce the amount you are eating to one tablespoon per meal - try to combine the hunger crushing combo (a meal/snack with fat, protein, fiber, (and carbs). It’s proven to fill you up quite fast because it has all you need in it - weigh yourself periodically. know yourself, it is easy to say “it’s just data”, but it is not for most of us. You cannot change how you feel about a number over night - use diet coke to fulfil your sweet cravings (max 2 per day). Is it the healthiest option? no, but it does not add calories so try it to get used to eating less when you are not actually hungry. - allow yourself to have fast food every now and then, but change your order to be less big and less calorie dense. Be smart about what you know fills u up and what does not - you have an intense craving? try to find a “light” version of that product and eat a portion size (oven baked chips vs regular chips already makes a difference). - the only thing I would recommend for you to truly stop is alcohol I have never been able to lose weight until I started paying attention to HOW much I eat. That one was the game changer for me (also realising how many calories nuts and chips have HAHA). I was always eating double the portion of what you need to become full and I had never realised it. No one had ever told me that. My entire family eats that much. So I stopped obsessing about WHAT I eat and I changed how much I ate of that thing. I lost 10kg in 4 months and I never felt like I was depriving myself of any food. I was even eating pizza which is crazy calorie dense! So before you try all else, check your portion sizes:) If you are always feeling incredibly full after eating, then you are probably making meals that are too large. You just have to look at the box of whatever you are eating and see the amount of grams they deem as one portion et voila! :)

This jus5 doesn’t allow for the psychology of eating/overeating. Minimal carbs promote craving for more carbs! Protein and fibre are imperative, but any carbs cause release of cortisol. For emotional eaters, just saying eat fewer or different carbs fails to heed both the cortisol impact and the emotional drivers. Why don’t we wake up to this?
This is probably the best list I've seen so far on KZread. Thank you!
This is the best video I’ve ever seen on this topic. The most simple but direct tools people can use to make actual habits and see long term change. So much psychology involved in helping people loose weight and this advice totally takes that into account. You totally nailed it.
You are so practical. No more dieting. This is for living.
EXCELLENT rundown !! ❤ And I agree about too many recipes. I freaking love to cook, which I believe adds to my wanting to overeat. Good basic meals, actually kind of boring meals, keeps me from getting too excited about eating and keeps my taste buds under control.
This is the most intelligent approach to healthy eating I’ve seen, I am so excited to try some of your tips out, thank you ❤❤
Honestly, Chelsea, this was a wonderful video.thank you!
This is an excellent video Chelsea! It hit on so many things I needed to hear and do. Thank you!
I am switching from being a pescatarian to vegan and this was THE most helpful information I have heard! I am that person with all the fancy vegan cookbooks and feeling very overwhelmed. I have never been over weight until I turned 58 and bam! I gained weight like crazy! I am going to implement these 10 steps and I am looking at your other material. Thanks for the simplicity!
Loved your list of habits! I couldn't agree more on the subject of more and more recipes not being the answer. If we're trying to live a lifestyle where food is our fuel (not our entertainment), then a giant repertoire of recipes just complicates matters. I love the idea of 3-5 core recipes as fall-back for getting a meal together quickly and relatively effortlessly. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
Thank you for these tips! They make a ton of sense. I am getting ready to get back to a whole foods/plant based diet and I needed these reminders as I tend to fall into that all or nothing mindset at times or try and change everything at once and when I mess up it's hard to get back on track. I need to build the consistency and make things simpler and it was nice to hear these reminders.
Everything you said hit on the spot. I will follow all the tips. I was already doing certain things but learnt more today. Thank you
Thank you Chelsea .I’ve learned more from you than any other video .I appreciate all the work you put in it .👍👍👍🇦🇺
Thank you for this lovely refresher course! It always helps to have the points reiterated 😊 I've lost 70 lbs eating whole food plant based with a few hits and misses but what helped me most was the 'don't miss twice' approach...just carry on as usual. I'm 41 and finally only about 5-10 lbs away from my goal weight 😊 Its difficult this side of 40,but totally doable with a more active lifestyle 💪
Love this video, thanks for your hard work to help others out, this info is gold!

Great video! I’m actually in the middle of reading atomic habits so this was such a good sign for me to hear you mention that at the beginning. I’m not a vegan but I loved the points you made and I can easily adopt these habits for myself. Thank you!
Best down to earth advice that actually makes sense! I think many of us fall into the trap of overthinking things. Morning work out vs. Evening etc. Getting in the habit of things and making it a routine is HUGE. Thats the most important part. Thank you for creating this.❤
I love you! Thank you! You inspire me and soooooo many other people everyday! Taking you with me on this journey :)
Loved this video! Particularly, 'don't miss twice'! I think this will help break the all or nothing mentality which I find can disrupt my good habits for longer than a little slip.

Thank you so much for your amazing content! I appreciate you so much ❤
I agree. We dont need recipes. Just make plates/bowls with ingredients we love. Batch cook starches etc which helps to put it altogether. i also like to make smoothies where I add frozen cauliflower and chickpeas (you cant taste them. Keeps me full for hours. This is my lifestyle after 6 years of losing 35 pounds ❤
Thank you so much. Your video is super helpful. I will definitely try to implement some of that advice! Wish me luck 🤞 🙏

I have NEVER found a video that spells out these concept better. I love that you focus on making things easy, because I always wonder how other people do it?! They always prepare fresh meals but I have always found that to be way too complicated for me to do consistently! For mre, I think simplification would definitely be key.
This was full of excellent tips! Thank you so much!
My jaw dropped, when you added vegetables to the Dominos pizza! For me it often is an either or, healthy or junk, just gulping down their yummy vegan pizza and feeling bad about my lack of disciplin. Such a brillant idea to just prepare veggies, while waiting for the delivery man! ❤🎉
