It’s a bad move. There is no guarantee that next season will see things improve. Barca is still broke, Xavi still has anger issues, Real Madrid will be even more formidable with the inclusion of Mbappe. The problem will be worse next season for him, because him staying on will be the focal point when things fall apart again.

Honestly why ? I saw nothing exciting this season...only poor results and out from all tournaments - and I love Xavi one of the best mf of all time

Xavi & Laporta know the Barca fan culture so well. Barca fans wanted Xavi out & were against him like he was anti-christ or something. Xavi decides to leave & reality hits Barca fans because Barca can't take Klopp, Naggelsman, Flick or any manager except Marquez. Which means Barca would get a manager way worse than Xavi. Barca fans are relieved & fully supporting Xavi, most are anyway. Funny how Xavi leaving showed a hint of reality & made Barca fans be humble for what they have.

Xavi is NOT a bad manager. He won La Liga last year! They are probably going to come in 2nd this year. Football fans are the most turncoat people I have ever met. As soon as one bad thing happens, they turn on the team or player. Everyone needs to get a grip.

What do you mean worse...Xavi saved Barca two seasons ago from almost not qualifying for The UCL and won them the League the next Season.

Xavi is great..The guy is handling a team with no DM, no left winger and no quality right back.. Barca is a club who prioritizes that registra role, he's got none.. Give him at least a DM and a left winger, you'll see how great he is

Yeah I agree. But gab isn’t necessarily wrong. I do fear that xavi’s love of the club might have made him feel bad about the uncertainty of the replacement. Laporte maybe took advantage of that. At the same time even a guy like hansi flick wouldn’t have been a certainty to succeed, but xavi will at least not be afraid to promote from within the club.

Better for him to stay and fulfill the last year of his contract especially when too profile coaches will be available after 2025 season. And they are not in a position to afford a long term manager rn.

I was against Xavi staying because he was taking little risk and showed no creativity countering the team limitations, but since he annouced he would leave he started coaching differently and making bold decisions, the team looked way better since Even after the psg loss which was due to a split second decision from Araujo with little experience at that stage and debatable refereeing in that game and last classico. So I'm hoping he will stay this bold/ambitious in his decisions and that the direction will help bolster obviously weak spots like right back position to get the best out of yamal, a good DM and a decent striker (lewa I think is past his physical and goalscroring prime). Bartomeu’s reign has completely destroyed the club. When they sold Neymar for 200 million euros they should’ve rebuilt the squad. Start from defense, then to CDM to replace Busquets but instead they went on to buy Coutinho, Dembele and Griezmann for exorbitant amount of price. Then last year they pulled all of their financial leverage to get players that already past their primes. Just for comparison some of Madrid’s acquisition during the same period were Vini, Rodrygo, Tchouameni, Camavinga and of course Jude. While Barca is only building a team of today, Madrid is building the Galacticos of the future.

Man he won the league last season with his first full season as Barcelona manager. If anything I'd say he is doing a great job. And look at the amount of injuries he's had this season. At one point 9 of the 11 first choice players were out injured this season. And they didn't have a good defensive mid this season. Previously they had Busquets so there were quite large shoes to fill for anyone who took the role.

@@bilaltokhi7445 It wasn't the tactics fault. It was a break by barcola which could have happened anywhere and an unclean tackle by araujo and an exaggerated response by the refree. I have seen players getting away with far worse without even a booking.
