They may stand up against them and say unless Man City face justfied punishments we won't be playing any further games. The other route could be to take them to the sporting courts there is options the Premier League bosses aren't the top and pinnacle of English football. They aren't judge jury and executioner if most clubs revolt against them they'll have to change and change quickly to save their league.

But how!? Man city have been charged in a civil lawsuit. It's NOT defamation to state and speak or bring up the point that they been charged...it isn't defamation by any stretch. Many city can't hand out cease and assist when its quite clearly that they have been charged by Th EPL..uz it's true.

I'm sure Everton and forest are gnna really be pleased with a settlement. City settle for 115 charges, they say there not guillty of. and Everton and forest get points deductions for something they admitted to? If this happens, premier league loses all credibility anyway!

Yep it shows that the Premier League has no teeth if it can’t prove that Manchester City are guilty or not it does obviously race suspicion. Man City have refused to give any evidence as they been legally advised that they are every right entitled not to so it comes down to the Premier League having to try and prove that Manchester City, are guilty. This is a whole cat of fish compared to Nottingham Forest and Everton.

I'm a lawyer and I can tell you Simon Jordan doesn't really have a clue what he's talking about. There's only so much money you can spend on a legal case before you quickly get into diminishing returns. From that perspective there is clear equality of arms.

As a team, no team is bigger than the whole league. You must abide the rules the league sets and must follow the the guidance given. However, financially, Man City have a nation state to back them up and the prem have a large, but not nation size pot to draw from.

Maybe because your rivals are not a nation state , which to be fair Newcastle is as well and 3 times as big as City. The Prem has got themselves in a mess, 1st with Abramovich , then the leveraged buyout at United and finally the one two punch of unlimited oil money. This is on the PREMIER LEAGUE and we need an independent regulator to sort this out. The league cant keep its hand out the cookie jar and seem to be obsessed with these unsaved characters that couldn’t care less about our clubs. These are OUR clubs not billionaires and unlike Germany we dont have a say. Althgough we never win , Levy at Spurs simply wont risk our finacial future trying to compete. I just hope we dont end up with a yank like Chelsea. How do you spend a billion and end mid table.

I think Simon does not understand the legal process involved. Both sides have able lawyers ,some getting paid ridiculous amounts.The fact is that some of the best young sport lawyers are not even involved in this case. In the 21st century you will find many many lawyers who have experience and knowledge of sports law. The case will be won or loss on the facts and evidence presented, not on which lawyers are employed. Thanks.

Most sensible comment I’ve seen so far. No support from me for city here, but to assume they’ve been able to lopsidedly spend their way into winning a legal battle based on the skill of their representatives is beyond naive.

PL should never contemplate a settlement, truth needs to be upheld and if guilty proper punishment given…example made, so that no one ever tries to UNDERMINE the best league in the world!

So the pl changed a team 115 times but are now afraid to go on with the case because money will be lost? Wtf? They should have known that from start, who they are up against, right?

The legal fees are a red herring. Both parties, and any premier league club, have enough money to hire the top level of barristers and solicitors for as long as needed.

The minority was time barred but was noted in the court papers that it was considered no more on favour of uefas case than the rest of it. Care more about having a functioning brain. Everton and Forest admitted to what their charge was. City have 115 charges and deny all of them. Pretty self explanatory why the first two were handled quickly the the latter is still ongoing.

Settling with one club does not mean they have to settle with others. And considering the situations are completely different, that logic makes no sense

I think for the good of the game settling would be a bad idea if they are proven to have broken the rules then they should be punished heavily as it sets the wrong precedent

If this is true then the pl have failed.. How can you changed someone 115 time and then looking for settlement? What type of settlement are they even thinking of? Pay City some money?

As a City fan I would find a 'settlement' unsatisfactory but the argument that City shouldn't want it because the whiff of suspicion would always remain is a nonsense one. This has become so tribal that even if City were to be cleared by the PL, UEAFA, CAS, the ECHR, The United Nations, the Pope and the Dali Lama those who want to believe will still believe ....... regardless of the evidence. There is no neutral 'court of public opinion' on this.

Simon Jordan ruined that discussion with his constant interruptions and talking over Borsen. No point having an expert on if an amateur constantly talks over them. Jim needs to do his job and control the discussion.

Settlement will herald the end of the PL. Too many other clubs have had sanctions and penalties placed upon them to allow such a position to pass.

Man City need to give certain evidence which they won't give, they did it in the UEFA case and then put in a little info later on which meant it wasn't conclusive evidence. They will do the same and get charged for maybe one or two charges which will be a 6 point deduction. It means Forest and Everton are happy, its sort of obvious what will happen.

The UK courts ruled that man city had to provide information to the PL for the investigation and make enquiries of third parties. I am pretty sure I read in a legal journal they had complied with that ruling.

The chap mentioning legal fees is talking complete sense - maximum spend is £5 to £10 million, Simon Jordan comments about reputational damage is absolute rubbish - if City get a damaged reputation clashes with Jordan's idiotic statements IE on one hand they have limitless funds but our worried about reputation - put it this way I do not think anything less of Everton or Forest for their breaches. The fans are still the fans and the teams are still the teams.
