I feel like I've found my weather soul sister. Now I will admit that I don't like snow when we have to drive as we live in the Twin Cities of MN but we too have beautiful falls and winters. I love when it starts to get dark earlier. I love the smell of a fire and I tell my husband all the time that I want to be cozy. You describe it all so perfectly that I'm making him watch this. Thanks for what you do and for bringing peace to my anxiety disorder and PTSD. You have a gift. Have a lovely Fall.

I'm in Svalbard now. It is really beautiful and (as I love cold weather too) I'm so glad I chose to come in September. On another note, I met Grim at the suppermarket. I think it is good that Grim doesn't like the kitchen floor as it keeps him from getting under their feet when in there preparing meals, animals & small children should not enter the kitchen unless they are cooking or washing the dishes. 🤣

Hi Cecilia. My least favorite season is winter and snow. I often feel unmotivated and depressed. Eager for spring and summer. But your love of snow and cooler seasons brings me joy and I try to reflect on that when I am struggling through the cold months. Love your posts.

I was thinking the same thing. You add to it Cecilia’s coloring, along with her fall jacket & fingernail color & it is perfection! 😊

I still can't believe that Grimm finds the transition from the tv room to the livingroom scary, but he can get in and out of the boat and dingy like it's nothing. I think Grimm over thinks 🤣🤣🤣 My dog is scared of the freezer being opened. He acts like Scooby Doo and jumps into my arms. Dogs are hilarious.

As a Canadian who experiences both every year…. It’s so refreshing to have the seasons change and I love it However, you don’t know how much you miss/need the sun until you hardly have it for 4+ months Nothing worse than being absolutely freezing cold to the bone from -50 degree temperatures and 80km/h winds😅

The view of the cabin from outside at sunset is so pretty and cozy. I loved watching Grim just loving life on the boat, he probably gets so many smells as you move along it makes him crazy! The cod was impressive, so is the amount you get from 2 fish, can't wait to see some creative dishes from Chef Christoffer. I will be taking notes. 👨‍🍳

Kiruna, in the far north of Sweden, got almost 40 cm of snow the other day

One thing I noticed when I visite Svalbard in 2018 is how welcoming everyone was. I'm Dutch and have visited many parts of Scandinavia. My country and the Nothern ones kind of have a reputation of not being the friendliest, with people keeping to themselves a lot. That wasn't the case at all on Svalbard. I couldnt go anywhere without people asking me about myself and if I wanted to join them for activities. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.

Thank you Cecilia for posting about your interesting life living in beautiful Svalbard. I recently started watching your videos and have learned so much about this beautiful place and surrounding areas. So glad your favorite season is here! ❤️

I’m with you Cecilia! Fall is my soul season for sure. The cooler weather (though here in Northern Michigan we have just had several 80 degree F days- 26.6 C) and the light changes make me feel settled. I am not a summer person either.

21:50 My boxer loves fishing too. She goes nuts every single time she see a bobber move, and especially when we start reeling something in. She’s SO attentive!

I live in Leadville Colorado, at 10,200 feet elevation--- We are right at Tundra Line in the Rockies.... I really enjoy these delightful video's--- and especially how similar the setting are here to life in Svalbard--- and we have just had our first snows too. "l'hiver, elle arrive bientôt !"..... ''winter, she comes soon !'' :)

I’m from Alberta Canada, we have snow on the mountains yesterday. Winter usually makes me super depressed but your attitude about winter and polar night makes me feel more positive about it.

I from england and its known for being grey and rainy, which is mostly true. Im surrounded by brits who moan constantly about the cold and rain but I thrive in it. Considering how much time you must spend scraping your windshield, I feel like a windshield cover could change your life. When you get back home, just pop it on and close the windows around the side flaps to secure it, and when you want to go anywhere, just take it off and you have a clean, ice-free windshield. The Svalbard winds might make this a non-option but sharing just in case. LOVE your videos by the way, thanks for sharing your life in such an amazing place.

I get it! My fave seasons are fall and winter, so you know how excited I was when it was 54° this morning (in Roswell, GA) while I enjoyed my coffee and cuddled with our 2 dogs. How often do you have to shovel your sidewalks? I have to do them every hour or two here in central PA. I remember when I used to love snow and stay in cooking and baking and watching out the picture window while my father would have to shovel and my parents would go out to work no matter the weather. But then I grew up and became an adult and I don’t like it anymore.

Fall is my favorite season here in the USA. The air is different, the leaves are brilliant colors and I can wear nicer clothes. Your night sky looks like ours in the fall. Clear and full of bright stars. What we don’t have in my state are hills with fresh powdered snow. That was a a beautiful sight. Thank you for sharing your world with us.

As a fellow cold-weather lover, I get happy just seeing YOUR seasons change! I've never experienced polar night, but I did spend New Years in Fairbanks, Alaska, once, and I could not have been more content with the cold and the dark. I love everything from autumn through spring and then I grump my way through summer. LOL.
