In this video we discuss the future (or lack thereof) of this channel. I honestly don't like talking about trans politics or politics in general anymore. It feels futile, and the only potential solution seems to be to vote, and you don't need me to tell you to do that. I find myself frustrated with the discourse and churning over the same problems every year. I'm not deleting the channel (yet) so you'll still get your fix for a while at least. But I'm turning my attention toward other pursuits, developing necessary skills to adapt to our changing future. Hopefully you'll follow along: ‪@OneOasisLeft‬ ‪@qnaline‬

I like the idea for one oasis left. We could do to have more queer people in the prepping mindset. I'm in the mindset of making small changes to my lifestyle now, in the hopes that I won't have to later, going car free and bus/bike only, reducing my carbon footprint, trying to eat a pescetarian diet because its less carbon intensive. I'm not convinced that the government will collapse (or won't), but I'm hoping that more people can do small things to improve our odds of weathering climate change.

low key, I would love to watch your progress on learning these skills if you're able to film as you go. Keeping up to date with trans/queer issues in news and politics is important, but I agree, it is so exhausting. Some more laid-back, chill videos on foraging, hunting, fishing, gardening, etc. in the context of self-sufficiency sounds lit.

It wasn't directed toward people who are struggling, this is one of the main points I feel I was trying to articulate but wasn't coming across. Clear headed people matter of factly stating that if they lose this healthcare in the future they simply have no desire to try to cope and live. Not people in active crisis, not people reaching out for help

Personally I'm disabled enough I can barely make it day to day with all the modern conveniences I have. If everything does go to hell and break down, I don't want to try to survive it. I grew up hunting, fishing, and foraging and the spoons it took just to be able to eat was more SI inducing than being trans in a proto-Qanon family in a deep red area was

I hope things don’t go to hell and you don’t ever have to get to that point, but if things seem to get worse and worse from here on I can only suggest and hope you’re able to find enough strength and support from your community and loved ones. If you are able to try to stock up on medication, assistive equipment/technology and etc. this would also be huge. Humans usually care for each other’s survival and wellbeing very deeply when we are put into these kinds of circumstances and in a worst case scenario I hope this at least would happen to help you survive. But I do acknowledge I know nothing about your situation and it is very easy for non disabled people to totally disregard the complexity of these things. I’m wishing you well.

This is why we need to build community. The physically disabled folks aren't supposed to do the hunting and fishing ... But to build community, we need the less neurodevelopmentally disabled/more extraverted folks to do the outreach. I can be useful once I'm in, but I am not good at developing relationships or with people in general. I have no family so I have no model for how to do that. I was burnt too many times by so-called chosen family and gave up years ago, anyway. But a lot of people are isolated, and that's our biggest issue as Americans facing a climate crisis. The US puts all burdens on the hyper individualistic institution of the family. If you don't have a family, its basically "fuck you, you're on your own," here. And that's a lot of queer people... I don't think you'd be as concerned about your survival if you had more support. i know I wouldn't be ...

I have a lot of respect for you Lux. Been around for long enough to have learned that making your whole life politics can be super rough. Especially when you are running in the circles of news our community receives. Our family will always be here for your content as long as it doesn't turn to hate which I don't see happening. I feel like most of my self confidence and the thing that has helped me with my depression the most in life is the litany of outdoors skills I have acquired. knowing how self reliant I am from not needing a mechanic for most basic things to being able to grow, process, and cook my own food. Encouraging people to equip themselves is valid no matter what the reason. I am of the Camp that the world is headed towards a ton of change and soon and people should be getting ready. Have a beautiful day Lux you are amazing and I look forward to being a part of your community till you retire some day.

Remove your gpu and try booting again if you can, if it still doesn’t work, disconnect everything but the cpu and 1 RAM stick. If it still doesn’t work, switch that RAM stick for one of the other ones in that spot, then try moving that stick to another RAM slot to confirm the slot itself isn’t broken. Unplug the computer before any of these actions, and keep one hand or skin in contact with a metal part of the chassis at all times you are messing around in there.

I understand your issues with burnout, take heart on the political front as both Justice and Politics lurch along at much slower rates than any of us would like sometime. The public discourse seems to be going in the right direction, but it's going to take years to improve consistently... Good side of this is that it also generally gets worse over years so anything trending in a better direction tends to continue trending in that direction. Climate changes and efforts to improve this are ongoing and desperately needed and I can't be quite so positive in that area. Treating people better.. I agree that should never be an issue, but sadly it is. Everyone needs to learn that for themselves. Your discussions and aid in injecting some sanity here have helped

Hi Lux, a little tip (that you may or may not already know) about pain medications. Wild lettuce, (Lactuca Virosa, latin) is as far as I'm familiar a widespread plant in the US also as in Europe, and it's concentrate is a very potent pain reliever. So much so that it is often referred to in slang as "legal opium," or "opium substitute." And it's relatively easy to extract it at home without any kind of special equipment, with just everyday house hold items. And the plant itself usually grows everywhere in nature, in meadow like places.🙏🌄

I moved out to the middle of nowhere in the mountains last year and have been learning gardening, fishing, carpentry, plumbing, small engine repair etc.... I already knew how to hunt and we've got a bunch of rifles and ammo up here. My boss and the owner of the property I live on is right there with me in at least wanting to be prepared for a scenario where we lose access to basic services. It's been fun! I've learned a bunch of stuff I never thought I'd learn how to do and can kind of emotionally separate from all the news about the world because, up here, I'm somewhat isolated from it and know I can still survive and even be happy if everything hits the fan. Property is right on a river to pull fish out of, there are tons of deer, we have some laying hens and we've got a solar array. The drinking water comes from a local creek that's filtered down and pumped through a big pipe that runs through several properties. So the basics are always gonna be covered. Between gardening, fishing, hunting we'll pretty much be okay no matter what happens down the mountain in the "real" world. I've even learned a little bit of tracking. Just made a stew out of home grown potato, onions, dill, basil, and a big hunk of roast. The roast was the only thing store bought. I'm in North Humboldt, a few hours south of the Oregon border.

I admire you for trying to be a beacon of active hope and a need to make preparations to surviving and aiding each other in a future which we have every reason to expect will become much, much harder, but will still be a future in which we can live as well as we can and find joy in doing it. Humanity has an endless supply of people freshly falling off the apple cart who are only just figuring out that our structures of power are not serving us, but rather are actively becoming actively-threatening to all peoples living on the periphery, and it's exhausting trying to move conversations along and get people increasingly prepared and connected while the discourse never seems to advance past square one. I don't at all fault you for feeling the need to change your work to better match your needs. Hopefully and likely so, there will be other people who can step in and try to bring the next batch of people along, and I hope they'll be able to learn the wisdom of those who have gone before and not stumble over too many of the same hurdles. I personally found your previous video to be grounding in a way I needed badly, so no matter how much flack you got for it, I say you did the community a solid.

Honestly as an IT person with all sorts of dumb computer issues these are the things to not miss. Reset the CMOS first, sometimes this fixes it (cosmic rays baybee) Then start pulling hardware to a minimum bootable config and if you can maybe test that GPU in another PC to confirm/eliminate that problem Bios flashback if you have it (cosmic rays 2 electric boogaloo. Very small chance this fails AND screws ur mobo, save it for the last easy step.) Then if no dice comes the real troubleshooting, and I resent every single time I did the real troubleshooting for no reason. Reverse triage, only do the easiest patients first and move on to more severe cases. Not being condescending i can't count the number of times I needed this dumb reminder.

Odysee is systematically different. And it needs more left wing creators. And it is easy, at least I think it is easy, when you create your account it asks you to add your KZread details, so it can sync your KZread uploads into Odysee so you don't need to go through the effort of uploading twice.
