I'm Jewish and I have been invited many times to Muslim's homes for Muslim holidays, it was awesome. And I have had many Passovers where I invited Christians, Muslims, whatever. For me it's makes these holidays way better when you share your traditions with others. They learn each other's cultures, traditions and maybe some history.

I am from Bangladesh. There are probably no Jews over here except foreigners coming from abroad. We had an American jewish woman at our home for dinner. It was during passover so we prepared special meal for her ( things she could eat) , she appreciated it very much. We liked her company and enjoyed understanding another culture.

It's like you guys find an excuse for anything that poses Israel as better. He asked Arabs about inviting Israelis who want peace for holiday dinner and they said "no, they're still our enemy", meanwhile there's no phenomenon of Jewish citizens murdering Arab citizens on the streets, and most Arabs who get murdered are murdered by other Arabs (disproportionately more). The Jews said they'd have no problem inviting them, even though Jews get murdered and attacked and lynched by Arabs in the street. The world just couldn't care less about us, that's why you guys talk like that.

The way he frames the questions for Israelis and Palestinians is different. With these people he specifically said it could be a friend and it could be an "Arab-Israeli" (who they have lots of experience with). For the Palestinians he just said "would you invite an Israeli for iftar." Much different. If he wanted to make them the same he should have asked these people if they would invite someone from Gaza, for example. Their distrust and fear of Gaza/Gazans is more similar to how most Palestinians perceive Israelis. Alternatively, if he had said "if you had a Jewish friend..." as he prefaced with these people and the Palestinians would have answered similar to these people. This is a very misleading approach.

First of all, Shabbat and Passover are religious events in the context of "They tried to kill us, but God saved us". If the question had been "to watch a movie\football\ something unrelated to religion" I assume more would have been answered (although many of them already answered Yes). Second - When someone is your friend, you have no issue with inviting him anywhere, because you already know he is a good person. I have arab friends and they have been to my wedding and I was to theirs. I think it's common for all people to surround themselves with people who have the same values as yours. Would I invite someone who thinks my existence harms him and he would like to kick me out? Nope. Would I invite someone who would like to exist with ext to me peacefully, where we are both free? Hell yeah.

Palestinians and Jews are at odds because they both live in the same land area mass. There is no country called Palestine, but there are Palestinian people that live in Israel. The conflict is because Palestinians want to genocide Jews, Christians, Israeli Arabs, and anyone that believes that Israel should be a Jewish state. However, Jewish people have always lived in Israel since ancient times, and although they have been expelled from Israel several times, the land is still theirs and they do have a right to exist in Israel. In 1948 Israel became a legal country for the Jews, and literally not even 1 minute after that was made legal, completely legit, the Arabs (because they were not technically called "Palestinians" at that point in time) and the rest of the world, made it their goal to delegitimize Israel. Palestinians have teamed up with the terrorist groups to commit this genocide and literally wage war against anyone who is not Palestinian in Israel. They literally want the actual land all to themselves and they want to wipe Jewish people off the face of the Earth, not just displace them. Israel has defended their selves against such atrocities & will continue to do so.

Land was conquered many times throughout history so having a claim on land that was lost doesn't make it yours(Canadian here remember). The game the British played seems more the issue and who people should be focusing their anger on. From what I do know both cultures were screwed over and need to find a way to live in peace with each other. It seems the Palestinians are completely against that and want them just gone so hard to feel sympathy for them with that attitude. This is just my opinion from stuff I've looked into and I could be way off

I think one of the things that prevent Israeli Jews from wanting to invite non-Jews into their customs is that Judaism is a pretty exclusive religion. It's not like Christianity or even Islam where it's encouraged to spread the word and bring more people in. For Jews, you're either the chosen ones or you're not, so it may seem pointless to "teach" others about Jewish religious traditions.

What does inviting to your house have to do with hating? I dont invite the man next to me waiting for the bus to my house. Does that mean i hate him. Whats the connection? That man that answered that its not appropriate for the chag was spot on. You can like someone and be friendly with them doesn't mean you have to invite them and esp to Pesach Seder and besides if im correct youre not allowed to have non Jew at a Pesach seder anyway!

From what I heard and seen, the best solution is (since the newcomers & those who were already living there >do not get along) for everyone to just conform to the 1967 agreed-upon borders. AND Live as separated cultures from there. YES, this is a sacrifice. It is time to move forward. This is both a LOL solution and an Obvious One.

@Starhopper I knew that I left myself wide open for being called "naive" but I just had to say this '1967 borders' out loud... this solution is so simple. As I do not see Palestinian Muslims as evil, nor do I see Palestinian Christians as evil. nor do I see Israelis as evil. ............Just 'war criminals' to be taken care of.

@Starhopper I understand what you are saying, thank you. as someone who was over-educated (programmed) in my "dumb like a PhD" schooling system (very expensive). my study was in world religions, now this has morphed into Wisdom traditions ---let me say "if your God is not fully obvious, then you are worshipping a demigod"---best to notice that demigods tend to be jealous, have complicated angularity, divided-duality and demand blood sacrifices. We All Always have a choice to align ourselves to the way of IOU (Indivisible, Obviousness, Undeniable)---Tao Te Ching.

I find it weird how many of these responses seem to ignore the existence of an approximately equal population of American Jews. Most American Jews I know have invited non Jews to Passover dinners, and I myself as a non Jew have attended a couple myself along with many Shabbat dinners. If they think there's something against their religion about inviting non Jews, maybe take it up with their other half within the religion...

The main purpose of inviting someone for a meal is to build relationship and rapport. That is how people of different religion learn and understand each other's culture and background.

When goodness in people's hearts is reigned, good things comes out of it and vice versa. That's why I love Jesus Christ, besides that He is my Lord and God, I love Him more for His kindness, He didn't refuse anyone, He accepted everyone, Jews and gentiles, healthy and sick, rich and poor, sane and crazy, He turned down nobody. It's very simple, I mean very very simple what Jesus put in a nutshell: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" That's it, no complications, no questions or answers, no enigma, no mysteries, it's just few words that if it was followed with sincerity, peace will reign in the world.

Funny thing is that the jewish people on the terrasse tought that it would be a bad idea that a muslim friend during the prayers hears the story of Moses (peace be upon him) and his followers be saved from the tyranny of the pharaoh And the egyptians, while this exact same story is mentioned in the Qur’an from the exact same one and only God
