Ido Amiaz, an Israeli Jew UNDERCOVER in Palestine | Nablus First Impressions 🇵🇸

I hitchhiked into the city of Nablus from Tapuach junction with a legendary Bedouin guy and went on the hunt for a place to stay. I had to conceal my identity as an Israeli Jew. Met some great people along the way and a beautiful mosque and a market. Join me!

    Well, you already mentioned it, the news portray them that way, because the government wants them to, to justify the occupation, and control this public opinion, it baffles me how region can be occupied at all these days, when there‘s so much resistance to it, but with the world silent a backed and strong government can do anything and keep people under its mercy. Sanctions mostly work against poor or developing countries.

    As an Arab I confirm that you were very lucky that you landed in that land because Palestinian are so kind and due to that they weren’t aware that they were about to lose there land when Brits came in 1917. At that time there were 90%arabs there. The fact that they are so kind and sweet j.ews exploited that and chased them out be sure that if you were in any other Arab country you wouldn’t have been able to build any kibutz. So I advice you to be kind to this pure souls they are teaching us every day how to forgive evils j….s despite them.

    "Much to gain from peace", for israelis yes, because then they will have part of palestinian lands for their "country", while for palestinians this same peace will make them lose those lands to israelis. If conflict is not wanted then best option is that israelis leave our land and build their country somewhere else, on the lands of a country that supports them. I dont think any country is willing to give percentage of their land to israelis or to anyone else, and if you tell them to do it for "peace" they will laugh at you, yet palestinians should accept it? Lol. Give me 10% of europe please, for peace. Oh and give 20% of usa to Afghanistan for peace, there is much to lose from conflict, u saw what happened in 9/11. Fuk logic. No one should ever lose his land, house or money for "peace", losing lands or property directly goes against peace

Palestinians obviously have committed crimes too, but they are such pleasant, wonderful people. If more Israelis were like the Salukie there could be a peaceful coexistence.

    Your first ride reminded me of my last time in Israel in July 2019. We had to get from a camping place outside Beersheva (called ספינת המדבר) to Tel Aviv on Shabbat and we didn’t have a car. The Bedouin owner drove us to the side of the road, and our plan was to hitchhike. The first car that picked us up were two Bedouins going to Beersheva. We asked them to drop us off somewhere in the city centre so we could get another hitchhike to TLV. They said “Why? No money?” I said we just want to save money. So they dropped us off next to a taxi, took out a huge stack of money and paid the taxi driver and said, “Take these people to Tel Aviv.” We were gobsmacked. 😶 Every time I see a Bedouin now I want to hug them. They’re amazing.

    Two related people live side by side in a country that is divided by injustice suffering and undervalue of human dignity. The first have clean cities..are allowed to flourish and feel as citizens.. modern settlements are built for them. they have a strong army and they travel from modern airports. and get good salaries and have excellent malls and shopping centers and a good quality of life overall. Their passport is strong allowing them to go to Europe Asia and the USA and other places. While the other people (pictured in this video) are living in a big huge prison,...bad economy..old ruined houses ..no one build modern settlements for them..they have no airports, no good roads or even trains and bus system. They struggle for get an income by selling things in the street, and they are under occupation with no hope for future (taking into account that many of those were kicked out of their homes in Haifa, Yafa and other places in Israel in order to establish the magnificent state of Israel. I wonder here ..if the Israelis like what is being done to those people keeping in mind that many of the Israeli fathers and grandfathers suffered the same and more in the Nazi Germany. How can this happen in the 2021? with the world watching ..the democratic nations like USA and UK and Europe. Do we respect all humans ? and want to share happiness and development with our neighbors? or this apartheid state is just fine as long as we value some people over others? please answer me...

    I believe that would be the exact case in the majority situations. It's the settlers and IDF who cause issues. Fatah and Hamas do not help matters. Palestinian Authority is practically in the pocket of IR. The government does not allow its own citizens to visit Palestine but everybody can see plainly that they aren't hiding some horrible secret. So what's the constant here that everyone can see? It's the same story around the world; the governments, the military industrial complex have their own agendas. The people are first to hear promises but always come last. No, I am not native, I am an American, but I am involved in volunteer work and have known many Palestinian and Israeli people, all this in addition to seeing the kind of content like Salukie uploads gives me utmost confidence to state what I stated. Please take care of one another, everybody, because the people in power are not going to do that job for you, not anywhere, not any time. 💙

    Great vids! Somebody who isn't me has also visited a few of the area A cities. While I understand the rationale for the ban (I guess mostly Magav don't want to have to fish us out if anything goes wrong), it definitely makes it harder for there to be any contact between the two sides. I'm a big fan of the Ask Project and these videos make an important contribution to showing that the majority of people on both sides just want to live in peace.

I hope one day things will get better and it will be possible for respectful people from both sides to roam freely in the land! However, my faith in this is growing smaller by the day because of what I keep seeing from people on both sides who have a different opinion on the matter, including both governments.

    Keep this up. It takes guts. I am over 70. In 1970, I was in israel with not much money. I worked for a month in a car wash in dizengoff in telaviv. I worked for awhile in eilat driving a truck for construction and slept on the beach. We couldn't swim at night because of depth charges to stop frogmen from Aqaba. That was fun. I never thought of going to any Arab countries because of Israeli stamp on my Canadian passport. I was away from Canada for almost 2 years travelling to many places including Morocco and turkey and afghanistan. It was a very different time. I travelled mostly by bus and train after I crashed my motorcycle that I bought in England. Take advantage of your youth. Travelling gets harder as you get older.

  • @Phasael

    @Phasael

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@andriaspindel9570 all right, but do you really think that all Arabs are robots that you need only to push the button and they do what Abbas wants? The majoritiy of Arabs are tired of this shit too. They know that they are used by their own political leaders for gambling and as a political card. Do you really think that all 100% of Arabs dream to blast themselves in buses? They also dream of a nice car, to do vacation in Paris, have a nice relationship, have a family, have a good job, eat well, be healthy and have a nice quiet beautiful living. They are not all Jewhater. Yes, you are right that there is a lot antisemitism in Arab societies which is lead by political and religious leaders that mostly use the Koran and political reasons to distract the people and push them into this horrible conflict. The Koran sounds like a warmongering, Jew hating book but there are a lot of Sure that teach peace and tolerance but it depends who read it and who teach the kids and interpret it. Sadly many Imams are brainwashed too and use only the hateful passages. But don´t think it only harm Jews. This horrible interpretations of the Koran by hateful and brainwashed Imams harm Arabs much more.They harm Arabs with this angry interpretations a lot. They holding Arab societies back to develop social and human rights in their own societies and to respect and tolerate of other opinions and groups. Its hard for Arabs to get out of the mainstream and have their own opinion and have a more independent view on many topics. They risk a lot and sometimes their lifes too. It starts in the families first. No one want to fight with the father or brother because someone see things in a much different light. And then comes the pressure of the society that force people to stay in line and not get out of it and to be caged in their way of thinking. Believe me, for Arabs it is much harder to stay "sane" and survive their societies. They suffering much more from this self inflicted cages and intolerance that their religious and political leaders put on them all. And by the way, Judaism and Islam have more in common then you know. It has more connection between each other than division. Both believe in one creator and have similar calling on our creator: Elah is also used by Jews to name G´d Is Elah same as Allah? The word is thought to be derived by contraction from al-ilāh, which means "the god", and is linguistically related to the Hebrew words El (Elohim), Elah and the Aramaic word ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ (ʼAlâhâ) for God. The word Allah has been used by Arabic people of different religions since pre-Islamic times. So you see that Arabs and Jews name G´d in their language that is related to each other. Crazy right? And many don´t know it. Not Arabs and not Jews. Why? Because leaders (and they are only interested in power and money over the people) divide us. Jews don´t eat pork like Muslim don´t do, Jews circumcise their children like Muslims do. Jews pray 3 times a day + the smaller prayers that can make more than 5 times a day like the Muslim do it. On Friday the Muslim holiday starts in the morning called Al-Jumuah. For Jews every Friday the Shabbat starts. Yes we have here and there some minor differences but many things based on the same. Both groups have washing ceremonies before they enter their praying rooms like Mosque and Synagogue. It is allowed for a Muslim to eat Kosher because it is more strict than Halal. It is also allowed, if invited by a Muslim, to pray for a Jew in a Mosque because it is seen as a house of G´d by Jews too. Not so much the churches that are seen by both religions as not acceptable. But this is another topic. Both, Arabs and Jews are children of Avraham/Ibrahim. Both groups are semites. We are cousins. And we fuck each other. Thats crazy. Thats insane. It is also written in the Koran that Israel belongs to the children of Israel but like I said before that a lot of religious and political leaders distract the common people from peace.But there are Muslim scholars who will tell you that this claim has no basis in the Koran: not only that, but the foundation text of Islam, in fact, recognises the special link between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel. “You will find very clearly,” says Sheikh Dr Muhammad Al-Husseini, “that the traditional commentators from the eighth and ninth century onwards have uniformly interpreted the Koran to say explicitly that Eretz Yisrael has been given by God to the Jewish people as a perpetual covenant. There is no Islamic counterclaim to the Land anywhere in the traditional corpus of commentary.” The Quran states: (5:21) “Moses said to his people: O my people! Remember the bounty of God upon you when He bestowed prophets upon you, and made you kings and gave you that which had not been given to anyone before you amongst the nations. O my people! Enter the Holy Land which God has written for you, and do not turn tail, otherwise you will be losers.” Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari (838-923), who says the remark is “a narrative from God… concerning the saying of Moses… to his community from among the children of Israel and his order to them according to the order of God to him, ordering them to enter the holy land.” Nowhere does the Quran make mention of the Muslims’ claim to the Holy Land. Instead, God reveals in the Quran that The Holy Land is designated for the followers of Moses. Because the Promised Land is theirs according to the Quran, only the followers of Moses may determine where their capital must lie. Its a big horrible misunderstandings between both groups. Its insane how we fight against each other instead to work together and make the Middle East a golden region. We are one family, we are cousins but we don´t understand it. We have maybe different ways to pray to G´d but the difference is very small. Its like you drive with another brand of car to your work than your co-worker. Both use a car to go to work, both have the same Boss but both are fighting if the Boss is loving one more than the other instead to work together and finish the task that the Boss gave us .....making the world a better, peacful, tolerant and beautiful place for all people and for all his workers (nations and religions). No matter of your gender, skincolor, belief or whatever you are. We are a family under one father. And I call my brothers in the Arab world. Let stop the war. Unite, we are not so much different. We are coming from the same family. Shem/Sem and Avraham/Ibrahim. Brothers and sisters please stop. Spread the message today to your communities. Let start with small steps to make a big change. Jews and Arabs are not enemies, we are family.

    @@Phasael i do know these things you speak of-the similarities and differences, and i do know Arabs are not all our enemies. My point is that only Muslims can solve their internal problems not the Jews and it will take people standing up against the tyranny within to get change. The Russians ended the communist system, now the Chinese must end theirs. The British ended slavery which was part of their economy. There are Muslim countries like Albania that saved Jews in WWII while Christian Germany massacred them. I know that but Muslim children are being abused-brainwashed, turned into terrorists, fed lies and hate. What will change this if not Muslims themselves. I am friends with members of the Council of Muslims against antisemitism and i have relatives married to Muslims, in Canada. But with the PA and Hamas ready to kill-what will changes?

    @@andriaspindel9570 Yes, Hamas is a terrorist and an Jewhating organisation but they also kill and opress their own people. And yes, the PA is only interested to stay in power and is not really interested to make the life of their people better. They know that in the moment they have their own state the financial world support will stop. And their people will meassure them on their success of govern the new state, which the PA is not really interested because a state means more responsibility. more danger of the anger of the so called Arab strett and less noney in the pocket. I know it. And many Arab know it too. The only one that don´t know it or dont want to know it are Arabs that live in the cozy beautiful Western states who don´t know anything about the daily struggle in Arab ruled countries and cities and have an oppinion from theit cozy place. And the Arabs that are part of the political and religious system like Hamas, Hisbollah, or any other group that is making trouble in Arab societies. They making the money. They don´t send their kids to fight against Israel. They use the kids of the simple Arab on the street.

    At 16:20 you point at the picture on the wall the waiter, saying that he is wearing a 'maroccan hat' but it is not accurate. He is wearing a 'Tarbush', as we Samaritans still do, which is still made in Yardan, where we still buy it, and it is originally the optoman empire hat. Because the ones made in FeS were really famous people forget that they really are 'turkish hats'. Thank you for the nice video of our lovely Nablus and come visit the Samaritan community on Mountain Gherizim (Jabal Jarzim) if you come back or in Holon if you are in Israel.
