    I'm palestinian and I don't write often opinions here (quick presentation: from the WB; Hebron). Many people in Palestine wants a 1 state solutions and many don't (in a recent polls it was about 30% to support it in the WB). However, I know it's not possible (not now and not in the near future either). too much difference: economically (minimum wage here 1800nis; in Israel it's 3 to 4 times higher ); we are ruled by corrupt leaders (as strange as it can be I don't consider them to be more corrupt than others Arab leaders, tbh less, however when we compare to Israel it's another world) and I think most important one: lack of trust; it's not a difference but it explains everything; and no; It's not the intifada that provoked it. Lying to ourselves doesn't serve anyone and we have to say it: we hate each other. But starting with small steps (increasing our freedom of movement, allowing us to have an airport without passing by Jordan, allowing us to trade more freely with outside world) will not damage you. So when I see that people from the other side of the barrier just wants to maintain the status quo purposely ignoring that for us this status quo is unbelievable. It's just angering me.

  • @mor43311

    @mor43311

    i dont think its hate , It's more distrust .. There is no faith.. it's always been like this This is why from the beginning in 1948 when the British left Jews wanted an Israeli state under Jewish rule ONLY rather than an Islamic state under Muslim rule. Without insulting but Israel can be corrupt, but at least she is not a terrorist!!! That is why there are millions of Arabs in Israel. If you have an extreme On the Palestinian side , then it is really terrorist , Because he will only kill you for being a Jew (not a Muslim)

  • @DD-rv8hi

    you said something true, there's a huge difference and if there's one state it'll damage Israeli economy because the WB and Gaza it'd need lot of money and stuff to improve it... there's a lack of trust but it's not something new, it happened already more of 100 years ago when the Ottomans decided Jews have rights too, we felt hurt when the Arab leaders here objected it and started massacres against Jews bc they wanted to retain their legal superiority, when the early Zionist proposed one state for both (even recognizing some of the Arabs were descendants too of Jews) they said no and started a war on us, there are Arab clans and communities Jews blindly trust like the Druze or the Arabs of Abu Ghosh who never took part of the other Arab policies and aggressions... honestly it's pretty hard to forget this, of course with reconciliation and stuff this will improve but so far things will remain as it is sadly, mostly because even mentally we are different and have different views on every matter (for example religion, Arabs want Islam as the one and only official religion while Jews, even religious, don't want a State with an official religion nor fav any of them)

    As long as Hamas and Islamic Jihad receive weapons smuggled from Iran and Qatar, Palestinians will never have an airport. It is a high security risk for Israel. Since 1993 the Palestinian Authority receives around 10 billion dollars a year from European Union, USA, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries, UN and so on. Where is all that money going to?

  • @rachelsamuel3328

    Before the Intafadas there was more open trade and freedom of movement. The Checkpoints and most restrictions were put in place after the 1990s. The Palestinians brought weapons in through the boats in the Harbour of Gaza, before that there was a 24 mile limit like all others have. Israel decreased the limit 3 times because they were buying and bringing in weapons via the Sea. The Israelis had allowed all type of building materials Into Gaza, but instead of building schools or hospitals, they built terror tunnels, concrete was used underground to harm Israel. What you did, so shall you reap.

    @sedifric873

    Жыл бұрын

    @@snowwhite7704 First of all, being in the power position does not absolve you of all moral duties, especially when it's explicitly against international law. Then, for FACT2, that's the core of the issue, Israel wants to have their pie and eat it too, they want the land while not having to handle the current inhabitants in a dignified way. I'm sure there are also Israelis who would be ok with just settling for peace and the territory they already fully control, but that's not the majority opinion. As for the Palestinians (and you facts 3, 4, 6) while the most extremist groups want nothing less than all zionists out of Israel, there are also more nuanced positions, and what they would want in an ideal world is also different to what they would realistically agree to when looking at it pragmatically, if there saw a real chance at peace and stability. This trust has to be built both ways though, and stuff like settlement building while not allowing the return of even a fraction of palestinians to their land is definitely making it harder rather than easier. I don't know if a one state solution would "destroy Israel", I usually don't like religiously motivated ethnostates and I think it would be the ideal solution given that you can't ask Israelis to just leave, and many Palestinians already make their living across the border while having to be subjected to hours of checkpoints every day, random searches, random denials of entry etc. But if we want to take for granted that it would, then Israel has to come to terms with it and start working on a 2 state solution instead. This means abandoning the West bank, allowing them to create and official state able to issue their own passports and handle their internal affairs (do you know Palestine has been banned from having 4g telcos by Israel since the technology was created? Just a random example I found out visiting), and stopping the flow of jews into the only land Palestinians still have for themselves. What other solution is there on the long run? What will happen when the remaining land is not enough to sustain the population? Until 100 years ago, when people reasoned with "they're stronger what are you going to do" like you did, the end solution was usually genocide. I hope we can find a better way today.

    the main thing is that mentally we are different, we have different world views even though culturally we are likely the same, even we can see a difference between Israeli Arabs and the Palestinians (the polls shows Muslims in Israel are the less religious in all the region and many women even don't use hijab even though they're religious)... the main disagree from the Jewish perspective was the unwilling of the Arabs to live in one country (as proposed by early Zionist), the massacres and discriminatory policies regarding to Jews as second-class citizens (dhimmi status), and nowadays the Jews in Israel have almost abandoned all things that related to their past, we don't see anymore Jewish women using traditional clothes as it did in the 1800's, 1900's and even in the 48, there's this sentiment of we can't trust them because they'll betray (of course not all thinks this way) and many other things, that's a huge obstacle, the Jews believe they'll be a minority in their own land and country and then it'll became an authoritarian regime and all their rights stripped out, that's the main thing sadly

    Not exactly. Nazi Germany called them the most derisive terms and actually conducted a systematic extermination against them. Jews in Israel want the Palestinians to live anywhere but their country. You can definitely say it’s racist or xenophobic of them to think so, but keep in mind that they had a few bloody wars with all the neighbouring Arab nations and had to endure countless terrorist attacks from Palestinians in the two Intifadas and also today. The Israelis in this videos have constant, daily interactions with Palestinians on the roads, at work, at restaurants, at the car garage, and in the malls. Depending on their jurisdiction of origin, the Palestinians already have varying degrees of rights from full citizenship to stateless & trapped. The only question is whether Israel will grant Palestinians more and more rights over time. It seems inevitable as Palestinians become more and more integrated into the Israeli economy and when there is external pressure to grant them these rights. I doubt that Israel will willingly extend full rights in one full swoop. But it will happen. Mark my words.

We are tied to it by national, religious, linguistic, moral, economic, and geographic bounds." The first Palestine Arab Congress met from 27 January to 10 February 1919, In July 1937, the Arab Higher Committee (AHC) justified its rejection of the Peel Commission’s recommendation for the partition of Palestine on the grounds that “this country does not belong only to [the] Palestine Arabs but to the whole Arab and Muslim Worlds.” In 1996, even that bastion which proclaims itself as the leader in the “struggle” for the Palestinian “people”, Hamas, said this, “Islamic and traditional views reject the notion of establishing an independent Palestinian state … In the past, there was no independent Palestinian state. … [Hence] our main goal is to establish a great Islamic state, be it pan-Arabic or pan-Islamic… This…land…is not the property of the Palestinians…. The difference being, Israel has absorbed those incoming refugees, while the Arab countries for the most part did not, they use them as a political tool (a common cause, a unifying topic, a diversion from poverty, poor health care, poor education and corrupt governments). All refugees should get compensation, note however overwhelming majority of Jews were city dwellers, hence their lost property worth is much higher, in addition to them being higher in number, a reason for Arab regimes to object to reparations. 60 million people were refugees on the 20th century, they all have moved on, except for those Arabs of Palestine/Israel, who are kept a refugee status by Arab countries, UNRWA and their own political leaders.

    Settler colonialism and racism are closely connected to each other. Settler colonialists always see themselves as superior to the indigenous people. They always feel unsafe, because they know that they are just a bunch of thieves. That's why they feel the need to keep the separation between the two peoples ongoing. The old apartheid system in South Africa was also a good example for this close relation between settler colonialism and racism. In other words, apartheid is the settler colonialism's child.

Why an Israel with an Arab majority will be disastrous either by not allowing the Arab population equal rights, which actually will be Apartheid, or by allowing them equal rights and risking Israel becoming another Islamic nation hostile to its Jews. Or are you complaining about my point about their being highly prejudiced against the Palestinians? This is not a judgement call either way, but is a sad acknowledgement of what seems to be the reality on the ground. And it certainly goes both ways and, based on the evidence of Cory's videos, looks even worse on the Palestinian side. We can argue the whys and wherefores of this, but my point, really, is simply that forcing two people with real animosity between them into a single country is a recipe for total disaster.

    @@hanginggardenerofbabylon1046 both sides might say that, but it's only true for one. -Palestinians say they want peace... But then they also want their own country, with an army, an airport, and other thing that demands massive amounts of trust from Israel. -Then they want all the territory the Jordanians lost in 67, nothing less. -And of course, not only do they want a country, but also all their refugees returning to Israel, which would change the demographics and eventually create 2 Palestinian countries with a Jewish minority... While Israelis want them to stop attacking, and have a military-less country until trust is regained. Security is the only thing that matters (at least to the majority of the population and the government. thankfully, the fanatic religious minority is too small to matter). One side obviously has less demands. If Israel wanted all the land it wouldn't agree to the partition plan in the first place (like Palestinians)... and it would already be theirs.

    I admit as an outsider one state with equal rights for all looks like the logical solution . A secular state , not a religious state . I hope you one day ask both sides if they would accept: a new state, guaranteed peace, guaranteed democracy, guaranteed equal civil rights for both sides and protection of minorities. IF this could happen, how many would take the deal? If this video is any indication, while many hid behind "the extremist threat", you could tell that for many of them to problem was the loss of the idea of an ethnostate. It’s racial. I believe way more Palestinians would accept the above deal than Israelis, but I’m optimistic a significant group of Israelis could as well. I hope you get to ask this.

    Written by KD: If the United Nations (UN) is going to hold an inquiry into the clashes between Israel and Hamas last May, surely the person heading the inquiry should be impartial? This is the point behind a 30-page complaint released by UN Watch this week, which called on retired South African jurist Navi Pillay to resign from heading up a new UN inquiry into the conflict. According to the complaint submitted to the UN on 14 February 2022 by UN Watch, Pillay, a retired South African judge and former UN human rights chief, violated UN rules by failing to disclose numerous prior statements that directly prejudge the matters before the inquiry. “Never throughout her UN tenure did Pillay use such dismissive language regarding any other country, not even against serial abusers such as China, Russia, Iran, Syria, or North Korea,” says Hillel Neuer, the executive director of UN Watch and an international human rights lawyer. “Her narrative of who is the villain is set in stone. Ms Pillay has long ago made up her mind. Asking Navi Pillay to head an inquiry examining Israel is like asking a vegetarian to review a steakhouse. When it comes to Israel, as our legal brief demonstrates, Pillay is the complete opposite of impartial.” UN Watch is an independent nongovernmental organisation that monitors the UN for bias and impartiality. “Many of the utterances in question occurred mere weeks before she was appointed by the UN, leaving little room to imagine how Pillay could envisage the issues any differently so soon afterwards,” says Neuer. “It’s astonishing that the United Nations appointed an individual as the supposedly impartial chair of an inquiry immediately after she declared one of the parties guilty in the very controversies that are at issue in the investigation. “By heading this inquiry in spite of having repeatedly declared Israel ‘guilty’, Pillay embodies the injustice of the UN and its Human Rights Council when it comes to the selective treatment of the Jewish state,” he says. In June 2020, Pillay signed a petition, organised by the South African Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions coalition, titled “Sanction Apartheid Israel!” In June 2021, she signed a joint letter to United States President Joe Biden against Israel’s “domination and oppression of the Palestinian people”. She wrote that the April 2021 clashes at Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem - also to be examined by the inquiry - constituted “aggressive actions by Israeli forces” against “peaceful protesters and worshippers”, which amounted to “forced dispossession of Palestinians”, the “latest evidence of a separate and unequal governing system”. In a May 2021 lecture, Pillay described Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians as “inhuman”. She compared Israel to apartheid South Africa, and defended the systematic singling-out of Israel under a targeted agenda item at the UN Human Rights Council. Her anti-Israel bias can be traced even further back. In 2009, Pillay headed the UN’s follow-up to the 2001 Durban conference on racism, an event tainted by unprecedented displays of antisemitism. When Jewish community activists around the world sounded the alarm, Pillay repeatedly demonised them at the UN and in the media as “lobby groups” that were “focused on single issues”. In May 2010, while serving as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Pillay declared that “the Israeli government treats international law with perpetual disdain”. In November 2017, she stated, “Apartheid is now being declared a crime against humanity in the Rome Statute, and it means the enforced segregation of people on racial lines, and that is what is happening in Israel.” Neuer says that in contrast to former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and her predecessor, High Commissioner Louise Arbour, who both criticised the UN Human Rights Commission for its notorious agenda item targeting Israel, Pillay repeatedly defended this discrimination.
