Additionally, I believe DNA sampling will show that these people are not related to the Philistines of Biblical age, but rather are Greek (Cypress) descendants. It seems to mean the Jews have a much stronger claim to the land than the Palestinians but I remain open to other historical facts and observations. Recall also that the word "Palestine" was given to the region by the European Romans - they picked the name because it is the Latin translation of Philistine - biblical enemies of the Jews.

There's a lot of Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jewish DNA in the mix with Palestinians, along with West Asian and Middle Eastern. DNA - often huge portions - from the people they hate the most.

These interviews are eye opening. The difference in ideologies between this part of the world and the West is very apparent.

Watching this early in 2024, very interesting! I would be so curious to see how the people interviewed in this video would react when confronted with the fact that the Arabs invaded the region in the 7th century AD and in that sense have been "occupying" the land since then. Could you make a video asking Palestinians something along the lines of "To your knowledge, when did the Arabs/your ancestors first come to this region ("Palestine")? When did the Jews first live here? And [if you get that far] doesn't that mean that the Arabs occupied and are to this day occupying Jewish land?" Very provocative, I know. But it would be so interesting to see how they react. I've just come across your work recently and find it extremely interesting and valuable (albeit sometimes quite depressing - the idiocracy that exists to varying degrees on both sides...) 7th Century AD is a long time. But frankly this war isn't about Arabs vs Jews. Or Muslims vs Jews. This war is about an ideology that believes they are chosen and are given the right by God. The only apartheid is the teachings of Islam, which has caused Christians, Jews, and non-muslims in general to be treated as second class citizens and be persecuted under islamic rule today and historically. If you knew the first thing about history you would know this, and how Islam is a historic enemy and aggressor towards both christians and jews. The Palestinian saga is very tragic, but they have done everything to make sure it stays this way.

The US still has a 2 state solution with our indigenous population. Hitler got it from us, and Israel got it from him. My concerns would be to get better education, better services, etc. Having a recognized state by the international community is one important step to achieve this. The palestinians don't have the means to do this without negotiating with Israel. I would rather have a realistic solution than waiting for a "miracle". Just to be clear: I am in favour of a two state solution or that the palestinians should have the same rights as citzens. And as I said in my original post: I have some concerns about the israeli policy towards the palestinians

Actually there was a country called Philistia which is exactly the same word, and it was older than any country called "Israel" in the region. Now, if you consider that Italy or Greece should never be independent states, since there was no "Italy" or "Greece" 2000 years ago, go and tell it to their people.

@@AA123TD Actually, the last time that the borders changed was that Israel gave away lands: Gaza and small parts of Judea and Samaria. All Israeli presence is gone there. The result: Gaza became a terror state, firing thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, and Israel tightening security around Gaza more than ever before. So, Israel should never give away land, let alone without anything in return.

Also, about your list, very few were literally expelled, most left of their own volition to avoid the war they started expecting to slaughter the Jews in quick order. Israeli here. Have been left-wing (Meretz) for decades. Corey's channel has made me reconsider my left-wing position. I really want peace but I see that there is almost nobody on the other side who recognizes Jews' right to this land and really wants to live in peace with me. Meretz is still my political home due to their secular agenda, and I do despise the Israeli religious right, however there is a problem here. People who are not willing to let me live in peace in the country I was born in, which my family has lived in for over a century, are my enemies. I'd better acknowledge that. The Palestinian Arabs could have had a state in 1948. I don't think their attitude has worked out very well for them so far. Please note I say Palestinian Arabs and not Palestinians, since Palestinian Jews are Palestinians too, as well as being Israelis.

Perhaps you should base your opinions on polling data rather than youtube videos, as a large number of Palestinians are willing to compromise, including the PA government. I think your victim complex is unnecessary since the only side right now thats denying people the right to live in their homeland is the Israelis. I also think its a mistake to go back to 1948, the reality then was obviously quite different than it is now.

Most Arab people in the PA territories are under the age of 30’so They will not know about the Two state solution of 1947 of the UN Charter 181. They don’t have Global or secular education taught to them. The elders you seen in the video were born after the 1948 Arab Invasion, so all they have been taught was the Israeli occupation from 67; thus disregarding the facts that the (West Bank) was occupied by Jordan since ‘49, and Gaza by Egypt.

If the saying at 7:00 "all occupations come to an end" was true, then there would have been thousands of member states in the UN general assembly, not just 200. It is easy to see occupations that ceased to exist and were replaced, unlike occupations that remained in place and erased earlier cultures. A prime example is the Islamic invasion, colonization and Arabization of lands from India to Morocco, an occupation that erased many earlier cultures.

They were absorbed by the Arab muslim culture around them. Judaism was a dominant religion ~2500 to 2000 years ago in the Holy Land but that doesn't mean it was the only one or that it was to stay that way forever. Bethlehem was an insignificant small town in times of Judea and Galilei, they probably spoke Aramean and followed Judaism of the time and place but Christianity took over a vew centuries later. People come up with all sorts of excuses to feel entitled to land ownership, including religion, that doesn't mean it is fair.

Frankly, I do think there should be a two-state solution, but if after that Palestinians keep sending rockets to Israel side, from my point of view Israel would have free hands to bomb the whole area of Palestinia to a parking plot. I am an European non-religious Christian (more like an agnostic, really, too lazy to secede from the church I've belong to since my birth) and have no relation whatsoever to jews... but I have brains, and I can see what the real problems in the Israel-Palestinian conflict are. The main problem are the Palestinians who can't accept the existence of Israel in any shape or form, and the surrounding arab countries + Iran.

Why didn't you correct the old man who said Israel rejected the Oslo accords? Even after that, there was an even better offer from Ehud Omert and again it was rejected. The Palestinians need a proper government not their corrupted dictators of the PA and Hamas so they can allow a peace agreement to actually go through, on a gradual process to full statehood. It's either that or the current situation in perpetuity, wake up Palestinians, Israel is going nowhere.

These Muslims never read the Quran. The Quran makes it clear, the Children of Israel will be brought back to the Land of Israel at the end of times. The Quran of course steals this truth from the Torah. Surah 17:104 "And We said after him [i.e., Pharaoh] to the Children of Israel, "Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise [i.e., appointment] of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering."" That verse is pure Torah Zionism. BTW, Surah 17 is called Al-Isra, which translates to Children of Israel. Palestine is never once mentioned in the Quran, while the Children of Israel are mentioned many times. Surah 45:16 "And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds."

Surah 17, which is now called Al-Isra, was originally called Bani Israel. The earliest Hadiths refer to the Surah as Bani Israel and it is considered the second name of the Surah even today. Bani Israel obviously literally translates to Children of Israel. At some point the Surah's name was changed to Al-Isra. Isra is conveniently the name Muslims began to call Mohammad's journey at night by flying donkey to Jerusalm. Muslims today claim that Al-Isra translates to The Night Journey. Of course Isra is just a name given to the journey, and conveniently also is very similar to the name Israel. Again, based on numerous Hadiths, the original name of the Surah is Bani Israel, and it's still considered the second name of the Surah today. It is clear that the name Al-Isra was added for a reason, I'll leave you to decide what that reason could be. You can easily verify everything I wrote here by doing a quick Google search. I unfortunately noticed that I wasn't clear in my original post, so I decided to add this long comment as clarification. BTW, the fact that the name was changed at some point also disproves the claim that the Quran hasn't been changed or corrupted.

No, you’re misrepresenting the point. Resistance by definition carries an implication of legitimate defense. While mere violence can and often is unjustified. So calling Palestinian: “Oh, you’re violent” carries the implication that’s unjustified. That’s the interviewee point. That’s why he’s insisting it’s resistance and not mere violence.

It does not apply to imaginary nations, and if it did apply in this case, it would mean against the opposing military, not blowing up grandma at a bus stop. In Islam you have Dar al Harb and Dar al Islam. House of war and house of peace. Since Islam can be translated with submission (or better suppression, which is practice in almost every Islamic country) these two phenomena's are saying it all. "Peace is Islam" and almost everything else is war.

You can find trustworthy and recent poles from Birzeit University & the PCPSR (Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research) for the Palestinian side and from the Israel Democracy Institute for the Israeli side. Sadly the former tend to confirm the rather grim reality that the video displays, even though one should not forget that in the end its mainly about the leaders decisions.

AsI noted before, a few times: The new "far right " Israeli government, aren't even close to be as radical as the most MODERATE political movement on the arab side. Lands were Islam dominates or has ruled in the past are considered Dar al-Islam. No foreign rule can be tolerated in them, Palestine is included. The rest of the world, where Islam is not prevalent, is called Dar al-Harb. Why home of War? Because Islam has yet to conquer and rule them. This includes EVERY land: Switzerland, Japan and Antarctica, too. Non-Islamic rule can be tolerated in them. For the time being, that is.

Arab occupiers were replaced by Crusaders Mamluks Ottomans, Egyptians (for 20 significant years) Ottomans and Brits. If you are talking about private local land ownership then per 1943 government land survey, local Arab land owners held ownership of 6.6% of the land.

As an Israeli, I find this very difficult to watch. We, the Jewish people throughout history emigrated between many different countries and states (Especially Europe) because we have been treated badly through racism and violence, you could deffinetely see in in the holocaust where 6 million Jews were excecuted for being Jews. Our only option to rightfully exist is by having a state of our own where we can live and defend ourselves, and yes, in our homeland where we originally came from. There is evidence that Jews settled in the land of Israel througout history even before the Islam or any Arabic empire that ruled the land of Israel. Now, of course in 1948 there are arabs that live in the land of Israel, we didn't want to kick them out as we agreed to the UN solution of 2 states, but the arabs refused because they don't believe in our existence, so how are we supposed to have peace when the other side is not even ready for negotiation or acknowledge or rights to live in our homeland.

I don't have time to read all the replies, but Islam isn't a religion of blind peace. Islam is a religion of peace based on justice. If there is no justice there will never be peace. Islam in Arabic etymology means peace; however, its true meaning or the true meaning of being a Muslim is to completely and utterly submit to Allah, our creator. In the Holy Quran, it says, "Holy is He Who carried His servant by night from the Holy Mosque (in Makkah) to the farther Mosque (in Jerusalem) whose surroundings We have blessed that We might show him some of Our Signs.1 Indeed He alone is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. And We gave Moses the Scripture and made it a guide for the Children of Israel, ˹stating:˺ 'Do not take besides Me any other Trustee of Affairs, O˺ descendants of those We carried with Noah ˹in the Ark˺! Thank you, Corey, for making these types of videos. They really provide an insight into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Also, the interviews are conducted ground level person to person the person being interviewed is an everyday ordinary person, these videos are really contrast to what media says, Shalom!

I've seen several times that Palestinians refer to Samaritians as Jews, yet they're not Jews.

The Rabbinate considers them a branch of Judaism. They consider their Torah to be the authentic Torah.

They are token Jews to use, because their numbers are miniscule and they are not associated with Zionism. This does seem to show that they view all Israeli Jews as foreigners to be violently expelled. So when they say that they are ok with PALESTINIAN JEWS, they only mean the few hundred Samaritans

@@mardasman428 Samaritans serve in the army. So they have accepted the Jewish State which is founded on Zionism. The Rabbinate has accepted them as a branch of Judaism not as halachically Jewish. They would have to convert to be Jewish

None of your relatives or great, great grandparents were there 100 years ago meanwhile their ancestors have always been living there. What compromise when more than 80% of territory goes to Israel how would they accept???

​@@cuorenerazzurro1661 Sorry but that's nonsense. You do realise that Jews have been living in Israel for thousands of years - as in, longer than the Arab conquest of the middle east? Regarding a compromise - perhaps if the Palestinians had accepted the original partition plan in 48 instead of declaring war and threatening to drive all Jews into the sea, and then repeatedly rejecting offer after offer, they wouldn't be in the position they're in today. There has never been a country called Palestine and if they keep going like they are, we'll be waiting another 100 years. I would like to see a democratic Palestinian state with a state of their own - but a big problem is that don't take responsibility for their decisions or mistakes, and have still not changed the education of their children to accept Israel as a reality, instead keeping the belief going that Israel will one day vanish and all the Jews will be gone.

Corey, the Jordanians (aka now called Palestinians since the 1960’s) came to Israel and settled in Israel. They are not originally from Israel.

As happens sometimes with the Ask Project, it eventually emerges that the question should have been phrased differently. "Do you agree . . . " is the start of something that people expect to affirm or deny. But this question is asking them to affirm something that they want *not* to happen. Perhaps, "Do you believe that Israel will be here forever?"

This right here is why peace is never a solution.

@@jcc152509 He is asking questions people gave him, if he tries to push them for more interesting answers (And videos) it's not out of being biased necessarily, but to be more successful. Everyone has some bias, but I don't think Corey is one you should really consider as biased.

@@kobi2024 kobi, how should I interpret him pushing on Palestinians with probing, dissecting, scrutinizing follow up questions, but NOT Jews. To be successful, in my opinion, the shill should take the same approach. As much as you want to pin partiality on me, you need to reflect upon your viewpoint, and how he conducts the interviews. Plus, he is Jewish, so he IS deeply bias and he wears it.

It renders the process moot, puts a wildly partisan spin on the conversations, and his Zionist inclinations are blinding. There is not a shred of integrity to his method. It comes across as obnoxiously presumptuous.

I used to be a leftist, worked for the Geneva Initiative. Then I learned how the vast majority of Palestinians think, and I moved to the right. Unfortunately, that is what reality requires. There is no hope for coexistence. Unfortunately, they must be permanently repressed and forced to live in highly controlled and discontiguous enclaves.

@@djh7087 Wrong in what respect? I would love for there to be coexistence, whether in two states or a single unified state where everyone is truly equal. Unfortunately, this is impossible. I see no alternatives to either permanent repression or forcible expulsion. I prefer the former of those two bad options, but I really wouldn't be upset if complete ethnic cleansing were to occur. That may actually be better for the Palestinians than permanent repression in the long run.

Let me tell you what all Palestinians know but did not want to say on camera. They believe Russia will bomb the West in a Nuclear War (they are known as Gog and Magog), the West will be completely destroyed. This will push the world into a dark winter and cut off Israel from their main western supporters. All the nations who survive, will be dealing with the fall-out from such a war. During this time, the Jews in Israel will destroy the Al-Aqsa mosque and build the third temple, the Anti-Christ will announce himself as the Jewish Messiah. At the same time in Medina, Saudi, the Mehdi will announce himself and form an army to liberate Palestine. The Mehdi and his army will march to Jerusalem where they are met by the Anti-Christ and his army (IDF). At this point Jesus will descend from heaven and defeat the anti-Christ and his armies. At this point Israel will be a defeated state and no longer exist either as a government or religion. Jesus will be accepted by all as the one true Messiah. Some Muslims and most Palestinians know this prophecy. As they see events unfold in Ukraine, they realise they are coming close to the end. It's hard for them to articulate this on camera.

Judea existed long before Islam. Palestine doesn’t exist. It never did. The Romans created a province named Syria Palestinia which is where the name Palestine comes from. In fact, early Christianity also existed there long before there was Islam. Not even the UN recognizes a country called Palestine. Either they agree to peacefully coexist with Israel or this never ends. Israel is never leaving.

they're too late. Most Israeli Jews by now have been BORN in Israel - and they are not "from somewhere else". Arabs should have fought harder in 1948, it's too late now.

There were ZERO nation states in pre-modern times. You also won't find an ancient Iraqi, Iranian, or Italian state. According to your comment there was never a Jewish state either!

@@toassistindo The commentor explicitely referred to nation states. Still, viewing ancient polities from the lens of modern nationalism is a bad way of viewing history. The past 3000 years ago does not justify the present. There is no other case on earth where thousand year old land claims are taken seriously. It would be ridiculous for a Greek to advocate conquering Turkey and reforming the Byzantine Empire, and even then their land claims would be far more recent than Zionists with Palestine.

Sounds like revisionist history. Long story made short, Palestinian Arabs are not going to push the Israelis out of Eretz Yisroel, so ditch that thinking, it's simply not go to happen.
