@@dogbert52 your answer represents that you don’t know anything about history. In the beginning of 1900s, theodor hertzl (the founding father of Israel), went to the Ottoman’s sultan Abdulhamid II, and he proposed him an offer which is to give Palestine to the Jews in return he will support the ottoman’s economy through the Rothschild family. But the sultan refused the offer, and here Hertzl announced in the first zionist congress in Basil, that they have to choose either Uganda or Argentina. Add to this, that the orthodox jews were totally against the establishment of Israel, and they considered it ‘against the will of God’. If the zionists in the congress chose Argentina instead of Palestine, the Argentinian would be today the occupiers, and you the landowners. Your problem is that you linked the Zionism with the Judaism, if you looked at the Palestinian issue from the Jewish pov, you will stand with Palestine, and if you used your zionist pov, you will stand with israel. Before you come to state unreliable words without even have one evidence, go and read your 70 years old history. And go ask your father from where your grandparents came from, then come talk about the egyptions. It is totally illogical that if someone converted to judaism, even if he is American, the moment he converts to Judaism, Palestine becomes his land. Like where is your brain?🤷🏻‍♂️

What she means here is that give them a good life and stuff to lose and life to care about, and peace would come either way, because neither side wants to lose that. Setting the goal to "peace" is wrong because it targets the wrong thing. You should target harmony and living with one another, and when you take those steps, peace will follow. I'm not sure I agree with that sentiment by the way, I think the current state of education on both sides (Palestinian more than Israeli though) is untenable and is a necessary condition to any actual mutual living.

The agenda moves faster with no resistance and can be stopped strong resistance and can be reversed with powerful resistance. It is the way it is. Israelis can't be negotiated with if you have no power and leverage. It is the way they decided it should be, and the Palestinians have to adjust to the choices of the Israeli people and force them to sit at the table and force the deal, either way, the Israelis will keep on chipping on the rights and lands of the Palestinians

Protesting is illegal in West Bank ,if you do they get raided any picked up and held trial in a military court where conviction rate in 99%. But in gaza, they can protest and they do it all the time because Israeli soldiers aren't inside gaza, they only control from outside in the form of blockade and communication, economy, controlling import export. So Israel doesn't care any less if one day all gazans decide to protest inside gaza, it doesn't affect israel in any way. If they protest and come any close to the wall they get shot and it has happened several times. Now lay down your plan, how should they do an effective protest.

When Palestinians have protested against the Palestinian Authority (PA), which is dominated by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Israeli forces have sometimes been involved in response to these protests. The involvement of Israeli forces typically depends on the location of the protests and the nature of the events. For example, during protests in the West Bank against the PA, especially those that have occurred in areas under Israeli security control, Israeli forces have at times intervened. This intervention can range from monitoring the situation to direct engagement, particularly if the protests are near Israeli settlements or military installations. It’s important to note that the dynamics between Palestinian protesters, the PA, and Israeli forces are complex. While the PA has its own security forces to manage internal affairs, the presence of Israeli forces in the West Bank can lead to situations where they become involved in events concerning Palestinian governance.

@@alexandrecerqueira3023 Let's first establish that had Arafat accepted Barak's offer back in 2000, there would have been a Palestinian state for 24 years. Keep something else in mind: The reason for the current plight is that the Arabs started a war against the Jews in 1948. Violence has only perpetuated their situation and only made it worse. Palestinians could start by getting their own house in order. First, educating their children not to aspire to become jihadi martyrs. Second, elect semi-normal, moderate leaders who aren't billionaire Holocaust deniers and terrorists. Third, accept that Israel exists, that 48 was a tragedy of unintended consequences, but that Israel isn't going anywhere. Leave history to the past. From there they would leverage relationships with regional partners to diplomatically negotiate a fair deal with Israel.

@@adaptiveagile This is somewhat a delusional vision, that a oppression force wold stop if not fought. I saw this argument before "if we figth, things can become worse, so it's better bow our heads and let it be". The 6 millions judes killed on the holocaust must had the same thinking. What i see now is an embarrassiment happening on all sides that support this militar effort against the Gaza people, because the IDF are on a killing spree against chieldrens, olders and women, and nothing to stop Hamas, and they even cant rescue they kiddnaped, and some say the IDF himself are killing the kidnappeds. Biden loses everytime he support Israel on Gaza, and all countries see this like genocide, less Biden's USA and Netanyahu's Irael, of course. In conclusion, about the devastation on Gaza, the palestinians must had the conclusion that it was inevitable, and it was only a matter of time. The Hamas incursion on 7 oct wold only accelerate the process, but at the same time put what is happening on Gaza on word's evidence, and now everybody knows what's going on there. They traded a long silent death by submission to a short but louder one. And this, to me seems like a political victory. The military victory seems to me like a matter of time as well, because to achieve the kind of peace Israel want, they must kill about all the palestinians, or an expressive number, suffice to erase the palestinians from the face of the earth, like the n421 german wanted to do with the judes on WW2. They coldnt, and i doubt the Israel can do as well. There will be no peace unless the Israel state is finished, the sionists are all killed or go to jail for their crimes, and a Palestinian state is created, with judes and palestinians having the same rights, and USA and European countries leave that land alone forever. Befor this, i dont see any kind of peace.

Palestine was a region and not a country or state. If memory serves, it was controlled by what is now known as Syria under the Ottomans. In the formation of Jordan, a large swath of Palestine was given to that state, yet there was no Palestinian rebellion, perhaps because it was taken by ethnic Arabs. Part of the problem is that Palestinian Arabs rejected a state established by the Jews-which I can understand on some level-but it wasn’t entirely an ethnostate in the strict sense of the word. Arabs would be citizens in a single state with Jews, Arabs and Christians. Had the Arabs not started a war against the Jews, they would be living as citizens. The Jews argued that they needed a discrete state as a safe haven from antisemitism, which endured for the European Jews ever since the expulsion by the Romans. The Zionists in the 19th century purchased the land-it was legally theirs, and they didn’t come to anyone’s country. Just as many (not all, of course) Arabs in Palestine historically immigrated from the Arab peninsula or elsewhere in the region. The Jews came to a region that was previously the territory of an empire, and the areas they purchased were swamp land and sparsely populated. That’s more than one could say for the colonialist Ottoman Empire before the mandate, under which there was no discrete Palestinian Arab identity-noted historian Benny Morris documents that Palestinian Arab nationalism has its roots in the 1920s, likely as a response to Jewish immigration. At the time, all Arabs, Christians, Jews, and Samaritans were Palestinian. Bottom line, it’s complex, and I can understand the perspectives on both sides-but there are certainly no clear answers. When you use words like “our land,” does it imply that you individually purchased or owned the land? Of course not. Just as I don’t own your property, and would never call it “my” land. We as individuals don’t own property that doesn’t belong to us. I think that what you are implying is that you believe property owned outside of your personal property belonged to an ethno-Arab state-but that never existed, although it was an aspiration following the defeat of the Ottomans. That’s all far in the past and quite irrelevant to current political realities. The big question today is what the Palestinians and Israelis believe is their country. If Palestinians persist in their belief that all of Israel belongs to the Palestinians-and if Israel doesn’t agree to either annex or give up the West Bank, the conflict will perpetuate without resolution.

It’s a tit-for-tat. Many, many years of war polarize both peoples. Both groups (in the macro) believe that the other wants to conquer them. Palestinian polling shows that they want to eradicate Israel en toto. Certain far right religious Israelis want perpetual control over the West Bank even with a theoretically moderate Palestinian culture (almost nobody wants anything to do with Gaza). On a person-to-person basis I’ve found there is a lot of respect between those who know and work with each other. Both of my employers were Palestinian Israeli Arabs, for instance, and I worked with non-Israeli Palestinians for years.

It's scary how some fundamental things got lost. People no longer really make the right difference between resistance and terrorism, which is not the difference between non-violence and violence, but between violence against soldiers (the so-called occupying forces) and the one against civilians, including including women, children and the elderly. We have returned to the time of ignorance and barbarism. Anyone has the right to resist soldiers, even with violence, but no one has the right, for example, to attack children, nor to send children against soldiers. It's simple though, isn't it?

But haven’t we as a human race in the 21st century agreed on universal values of what is immoral? As an example, the 3 Abrahamic religions universally agree about the 10 commandments. This agreed to be the moral standards by which all people must behave. We’re not talking here about some remote tribes lost in time in Latin America or Africa. We’re talking about two groups that come from the the same source, which is the Bible. Sorry, but this argument within this context does not hold any ground.

Well, if you throw down a rock from the wailing wall on someone you can kill a person. Stoning used to be a means of execution, you know. It’s not as if they’re throwing pebbles. I’m sure you would also call law enforcement if someone hit you on the head with a rock as it is considered attempted mayhem in probably every single state around the world…you are probably thinking of the clips of little kids throwing rocks at idf vehicles but this is not the whole truth. Throwing a rock at someone’s head can be as dangerous as stabbing someone and everywhere else in the world that’s obvious. And it’s not a sign of oppression towards the ones throwing rocks but a sign of dehumanization in regards to the people that get attacked. Perpetrator victim repentance seems to be fine with people whenever Jews are involved.

@@DevonRyeTheDragonflywhat’s people throwing rocks to a standing army with some of the most advanced military equipment ? They are throwing rocks because many of them (not including Hamas) don’t have the means to resist properly. You can’t illegally settle on someone’s land (I’m talking about the illegal settlements here, though I believe Israel in its entirely is an illegal settlement) and then force those you are illegally occupying to follow your laws which conventionally delegitimises any real form of resistance. Basically, the oppressor cant lay down the rules for the oppressed to follow and act surprised or stand on the moral high ground when they refuse.

Easy to say when you haven’t been surrounded by dozens of people hurling large rocks at you. It’s happened to me on at least three occasions-as a civilian just minding my business. In one case on my motorcycle I was almost killed when ambushed., and had I gone down, they would have stoned me to death. I’m not a settler, BTW. Having cinder blocks come through the window of your car will easily kill a person. At the Western Wall, Palestinians from the Al Aqsa above would drop cinder blocks onto the people praying below during their riots. I’d estimate that the wall is about 50 feet in height.

It’s complicated. There’s been war against Israel since 1948. If a group of people is committed to conquering its neighbor, giving it full autonomy on a border that leaves Israel only 9 miles wide is a suicidal proposition. Remember, Palestinians lived under Jordanian hegemony after it annexed the West Bank following the armistice lines of the 48 war. Israel didn’t claim or administrate that territory until war was once again declared by neighboring Arab states in 67-at which point the land was captured. If international law sentences Israel to suicide, it’s immoral and untenable; and nobody in the world would abide it. International law doesn’t account for cultural realities on the ground. The complexity of Israel-Palestine is historically unprecedented and presents moral conundrums for both sides.

I think the best solution possible is to go to the past and prevent the invasion in the first place. But since that's not posible the wisest solution would be the one country solution. Palestinians and israelis should live in the same country and they could choose to call their country Israel or Palestine. Like some centuries ago. The state was called Palestine but for the jews they were living in their holy land. Many jews from europe returned to their holy land as Palestine many centuires before the invention of nationalism and zionism.
