@Onyen Bew he does. His body isnt built for grappling. Everyone has genetics best suited for some things better than others. Izzy is tall and long but isn’t super wide. Jon is somehow built both for grappling and striking. He is tall and has long, slender limbs but a thick and wide midsection and back. Thats the physical aspect, the mental aspect is that Jon grew up in the US where they wrestle more than New Zealand and he wrestled in highschool and college, Izzy grew up break dancing lol its not as easy to learn how to grapple as an adult as it is to learn how to strike.

At 248 lb, Jon's strength probably just overwhelmed Gane.

@Stan That's calling Gane a coward and a quitter, and overlooking the fact that Jon's stand up technique is every bit as daunting as his wrestling. Apart from that, a fighter's ground game is only effective if he has the strength and endurance to impose it on his opponent. Skill alone can't cut it

i love the respect between fighters no matter what’s been said. to appreciate the sport you love is supreme over all else. W Jones, W Izzy, my two favorite fighters.

Once Jon Jones approaches a fight like a wrestler, he's unstoppable. For a while he tricked himself into believing he was a striker and was having close fights.

Like the rematch with gustaffson, once he took him down it was all downhill for Gus in such a short period of time. I’d be terrified getting taken down by Jones knowing the clock is ticking for me to get absolutely smashed

Jon is a good striker too he has a lot of striking finishes, his kicks and elbows are lethal. But ye his greatest strength is by far wrestling and distance control with the kicks

Jon Jones said hes gonna make it look easy in his pre fight interview and he delivered. My money was on him either way but I expected Ciryl would give him more of a run for his money but Jon just rolled through him like a GOAT that he is. Nice catch on Bo Nickal's knee in the nuts. I also saw it while watching the fight and was upset that the ref and the commentators didn't even notice it. The fight could have gone differently if the ref saw that and gave him time to recover. The takedown which led to the sub came immediately after the knee in the nuts.
