You're overstating it. The BMF title is still an exclusive title even though it's honorary.

Islam is exactly the sort of guy who only cares about fighting top guys and bringing glory to his team. Even his brand of trash talk is just something he picked up recently to do the bare minimum, I think the only people he really means to disrespect is Chandler for dissing/ducking him and Conor for insulting Khabib. Kinda selfish to not care about the business side of his division, but he’s just simple.

If someone didnt put in the effort you did and achieve the heights you did, they dont deserve a belt recognizing them as something special in his weight class totally understandable

They need to make the BMF as their official super fight belt and announce it as such. Make it so the fight doesn't directly effect rankings but puts a standard monetary value that the winnings don't ever go beneath but will possibly increase. Making sure that the pay out attracts fighters and consumer attention. Inviting all fighters from all weight classes to participate at any weight they desire. Catch weight preferred. Then, people don't worry about what it does to the division, fighters win more money than normal, and their is a marketing element built in. THE END. :)

It's the consolation prize, so of course it is. If you aren't first, you're last. That's what makes sport so great. If we started handing out participation trophies to everyone, the hardware would be meaningless. It's only special because it's rare, scarcity matters. It's not about opportunity, it's about diluting the significance of a championship.

She put a lot of studying in to having those grades, while you didn’t earn it. The BMF belt is a belt for those who hasn’t earned a real belt, but simply for those who wins a hyped up and/or exciting fight. I would get if they made a BMF title where only champions fight eachother to decide who that is, then it would make sense.. But i don’t think it matters at all as is. It’s just a way to make a fight seem more interesting for the dummies, putting a fake belt on the line. Which is kind of the same as the interim belt in a way, but the interim belt has a purpose - it foreshadows who the next (usually well deserved) title contender is, as we wait for the real champion to compete. What is the purpose of the BMF belt?

Chael, you' re right. You wouldn't care if someone cheated off you, because you're the Bad Guy. You don't care if you break the rules, but others might. Some people get anxiety from breaking rules, and your cheating implicates her. My guess is she let you cheat because she was your friend, but she didn't like it because she was scared you were going to get caught, and she would get in trouble. Not everyone has the biggest arms and the greatest charm, not everyone can do the most harm.

Gaethje threw away the interim belt, can't imagine his reaction if he wins the BMF one!!

Got to agree with Islam on this. The BMF title truly has no value. It's not like the Intercontinental/US championship in WWE where the belt has a lineage and it is contested among B-tiers (or as Islam called them - bums), who won't get a main event spot anytime soon. Yet, in pro-wrestling if you win all the belts that the promotion has, you will earn the 'Grand Slam' title. This is not the case here - if Islam, as the undisputed champ, would win the BMF title, there is absolutely no credits to it. He won't become the first 'Grand Smesh' guy or something for collecting all the UFC belts.

📍 The BMF is a real belt. I don't get people making fun of it and calling it stupid. Why isn't the UFC championship belt not stupid and laughable? That BMF belt is specifically made for certain fighters, not up for grabs for everyone. That is special and unique to me

It is silly, but being silly every now and then is okay. The real problem all of these athletes and competitors have with it is that the belt is really only up for grabs by fan favorites that people want to see fight and some of these people can't figure out why they can't draw and the claim they don't care, but the reality is when they shit on the BMF they are showing they do care.

Really, BMF belts(plural) should span weight classes. Boxing induces the "undisputed", pound for pound, multiple belt holding boxer/fighter. lt's arguable that the UFC fighters deserve the safety of a BMF belt.

UFC needs to invent another belt for bums: The TTB, the Trash Talking Belt. Most likely Chael will approve of it.
