Yeah,I thought islam would win but I was thinking he would grind him out over 20-25 min . Islam outclassed him everywhere and just made Charles look like an amateur. Caught him on the jaw clean then subbed him .. makes me wonder if Justin and Dustin had jumped his guard when he was rocked if they coulda got a finish

@@dathofilms Dustin and Gaethje doesn't have ground game. I am talking about new fighters like Dariush, Gamrot, Fiziev, Arman, all these have good standup and good wrestling along with good cardio. Charles always struggled with wrestlers with good cardio. He even struggled against Lee but Lee has bad cardio. In initial rounds, Lee was able to easily dominate Charles and did some GnP. Charles was aboe to win only after Lee lost his cardio and power.

@@NoName-qf2ks I was rooting heavy for Charles but I disagree here. His striking is quite polished (defensively sound) and WAY better than khabibs ever was. He took down and controlled the best grappler in the division. I honestly don’t see anyone else keeping it on the feet or fighting off their back successfully if charles couldn’t do it.

True words, I would say Islam was really much more dangerous with his hands this fight, as well as his footwork and standup defense improved significantly. There were two moments I thought Islam wanted to show some hand work, in the moments he could play it safe, particularly the moment during widely thrown overhand exchange where he took some risk, proving his skills and movement in the standup, without getting caught. His cardio is really great, Charles did not look as fit this time. Glad for IM's victory, what a great night!

What an achievement… He also didn’t know any English not too long ago… He’s come a long way!

These guys seem more tired after training then after a match.

Team Khabib as of now showing that Islam Makhachev might be better than Khabib himself considering who Khabib beat to win the title (yes he was unlucky just like Islam was with opponents pulling out or them not getting fights) in fact they have almost an identical amount of time spent in the cage I think to get the title shot, however man from the Al Iaquinta win to now the Charles win (as someone who digs both Charles and Islam) well done.
