Death certificate originally did, it got changed in a patch to allow tainted lost to choose blacklisted items, I'm pretty sure it was the same patch that allowed tainted Cain to pick up an item from the death certificate room

I think it's intentional, since death certificate is so rare and the way to unlock it is you need is pretty much an end game. For spindown it still hard to get the blacklist item such as holy mantle etc. You need a specific otem to reroll it. And as the effect suggest it reroll the item id not the item it self, so there's a code that involve there. And originally you still can't find those blacklist item in death certificate room, until later patch.

@plantplayer303 but most people only take it for the black heart, and if you have a homing/tech X build, shot speed is bad. When holy mantle and explosion immunity is removed, but safety pin stays, it's definitely not better items.

I think its because he wanted to make the challenge character more challenging, i havent played isaac myself but ive heard some people say that “???” Characters are sometimes harder than the lost because the lost can take infinite damadge so long as its only once per room, removing dead cat and holy mantle prevents you from turning tlost into normal lost if that makes sense

Well, normal blue baby/??? has now a damage multiplier, has soul hearts (pretty much an upside, because health ups are useful now) and tainted blue baby is strong (can spawn holy ground, can deal gpod damage with shit, can have firemind, poison tears, holy ground, and tears+damage up). And while yeah, the lost can take more damage over multiple rooms, he is significantly worse when we are talking about killing end bosses like delirium or mega satan.

The internal tag for items Tainted Lost can find is ‘offensive’

This may need testing but I think getting 2 full rows (12 total) of Broken Hearts as either of the Losts flat out kills them?

Bc of the pool, best thing you can possibly get outside of spindown to help with protection (imo) is glowing hourglass or blank card to help retain hits to guve

"Better items" = a whole run with tier 1 items

I think T-Lost is supposed to be more centered around being a hyper glass cannon, getting better chances of getting more powerful items at the cost of being able to defend himself even less

I swear I've picked up holy mantle with tainted lost

should also mention that if you max out heartbreak as lost, you cant revive with extra lives.

T. Lost is the first T. Character i completed. It was so exciting to play him

No defensive items is actually not that correct, bc you can still - get psy fly and turn bullet hells into a joke - get ocular rift and do the same but in a more risky way - get book of shadows and clear delirium in like 20-25 minutes on pair with 4.5 volt - get heartbreak, which is weaker dead cat And other examples

Tainted Lost is just Rebirth Lost with a better item pool and no permeant holy mantle. You can at least streak with the current Lost. Tainted Lost? Hahahaaha. If Jacob and Esau, Tainted Jacob and Tainted Eden didn't exist I'd call him the worst character in the game to even play.

The items that don't spawn for t lost are only items that give spectral or flight. Dead cat and mantle do still spawn

You also can die if you reach 12 broken hearts with The Lost since despite not showing it, The Lost do have HP, and 12 broken hearts forces the HP to turn into 0
