    Z is without doubt the greatest of all time, and by quite a big margin. No one else has come close to achieving as much as him in the sport. The second greatest of all time is an interesting conversation. Based purely on titles and the amount of competitions won, you could argue that it’s Mariusz. However, Brian Shaw was up against stiffer competition than Mariusz, as he had a prime Z to beat.

  • @douglasnisbet1189
    @douglasnisbet11893 жыл бұрын

    If you look at career longevity, number of titles and number of world records then you really can't deny Z is the GOAT. Also his static numbers were so impressive, especially squats, axle and log. In his era setting world records wasn't the big thing it is now. Z didn't train specifically for the log record, he just broke the record countless times anyway in competition. Then there's the fact that he had quite a few unbelievably serious injuries that would have ended the career of most strongmen.

    especially with that wording, yes absolutely. as far as plain strongest, that's a really fun conversation to have. eddie and thor, specifically eddie gets it a lot because eddie structured his career that way. wow factor, big records for big money and big clout. well deserved. but Z was and is the ultimate competitor. pure strategy and economic application of power, breaking records only if pushed for the win. and that's what made his career so long. didn't pull a svend or hugo and go in looking for the record, but the fun part to talk about is what COULD he have done if that were his attitude? 2006-2009 Z i firmly believe COULD lift anything in front of him if he wanted or needed to. but just as a competitor it's basically open and shut.

  • @MyBlocksStrongestMan

    That's a good point. In the NBA, I consider Jordan the GOAT regardless of whether he has accumulated the most achievements but because he was the most difficult to overcome when he was in front of you. You could find facts to support Eddie Hall being stronger in multiple lifts than big Z, but would he be able to overcome him in a contest when they were both in their primes? That's the question. Z was dominant in a long prime and deserves GOAT status. I have Brian Shaw at #2

    @@PH34RB Z beats Eddie all day long. Max lift Eddie probably is statically stronger or close to it, but this is strongman and you need to put it all into a competition. Just look at log, Eddie failed to stabilise a 220kg log first event, fresh whereas Z made 220kg log look easy asf mid competition at wsm. Nobody can argue Z is better, broke records mid competition on a regular basis and still winning titles even, regardless of whether they're major events. Strength and longevity whereas Ed got to his peak then bailed because he couldn't maintain that power at his weight without taking serious damage. Z did all this at a lower bodyweight too.

    Big Z is the same age as me and I've followed his whole career. While I don't really like the concept of "Who's the GOAT?", I agree if I had to pick someone, it'd be him. Not only for the points you mentioned here, but also for his modesty. He never makes a scene, just quietly does his job. And I remember how awed we were watching him absolutely dominate some of his competitions. He's a legend. I'm thrilled to see what he'll do this year. In the GOAT discussion I'd propose Brian Shaw and Bill Kazmaier. I think Kaz was robbed of a few WSM titles and he dominated the scene in his heyday.

    Ive made a table with all the winners of WSM (imo you must have won it to be named the greatest, so the rest were automatically eliminated), then I assigned points to each podium place they could get in each of the big competitions from modern and classic era (the points were based in the importance of the comp) WSM, ASC, ESM\ASM, IFSA, WMPC, WSC and WUS... And guess what? Z finished getting x2 more points than Mariusz, whom is one of the closest to Z. That there gotta tell anyone a lil bit about the prominence of Z, just way way above the rest. That doesnt mean you cant argue Kaz or Sigmarsson, Shaw or Mariusz are your favorites and greatest, but, when it comes to RAW numbers Z has no challengers, not even one.

    lol BIG Z trying to be humble while also trying to brag with the trophies. We all know he knows ;-) For me its complicated, obviously its Big Z followed closely by Brian Shaw from an objective point of view. But my heart really loves Pudzianowski despite him clearly not being the 'strongest' I think he did so much for the sport in such a short time that if we are talking about greatest instead of strongest then Pudzianowski has to be up there in the top 3. I feel like Hafthor left just as he was approaching his peak otherwise it would be easy to call him the strongest man that ever lived irrespective of titles and records.

    I have read some of the comments here and it seems lots don't think the big z was that good because it had taken him so long to win a wsm title but it shouldn't matter how long it had taken him more like look at his achievements, almost like people how could someone be the best doctor or physio straight out of school that wouldn't be possible

  • 3 жыл бұрын

    If you consider Z built his career on much less efficient PEDs (gotta remember he was there since the 90s, when guys regularly reached at best 130-140 kg BW, he wasn't built on the stuf that turns people into 200 kg monsters like today), and if you consider he didn't train for WRs (although he has more of them than anyone else), if you consider he's not roided to the gills like Hall or Hafthor (reason why he's competing for almost 30 years, not like Hall or Hafthor that competed for less than a decade and both were literally FORCED to stop because of PEDs abuse - that's the truth they won't tell in any You Tube videos), so if you put all the factors together, and Z's room full of trophies, then it's absolutely no effing doubt he's the strongest of modern history. Period, no doubt at all.

    That is what I say about the Great Big Z. He has so many world records so many podiums against the best and still beat them. Big Z is just amazing and if he retires The strong men must have him as a referee because he never looks at the person just that they must do things right. There are so many greats but none like Big Z to me not even close. So many of them I liked and like now and I do have favourites but the winner will always be the Big Z Even some called Big Loz is a favourite of mine Europe's strongest man a world record in the car carry say no more.

    Without a doubt BILL KAZMEIER is no. 1. He held powerlifting world record in the bench press and deadlift.... And the world strongest man contest OUT Squatted the then world record holder as he steamroller Ed another WSM title. Zadrunas is great but he'd have to get past pudzianowski first who beat him multiple times on his way to 5 x WSM titles. Kaz and pudz stand out... But KAZ PAVED THE WAY. NO. 1
