Hi! Ive got you! I hunted the facts!: fake diamond do not float or suspend in water as they like real diamonds; are both denser than water and will sink. The tell between a fake and real diamon is that fake ones will sink millaseconds faster than real ones. So its a timing thing. Hope this helps! Skipped all the sciencey density and how cut affects decend ect

Just kidding those isn't a guaranteed way to check to see if a diamond is real, it'll possibly weed out other false but the only way to know for sure is to perform multiple tests to be sure

Real Diamonds are 3.5 times more dense then water making them sink, compared to fake ones they'll float

Fake diamonds will only float if made of plastic. Fake ones are slightly denser than real diamonds and cut through the water tenstiin slightly faster. Its a speed fall test. Itlf they had dropped them at the same time in the video, you would see the fake one sink ever so slightly faster than the real one ^-^

Its a speed tension test. Fake diamonds sink faster than real diamonds by micro seconds. They have a slight desity difference and that causes fake ones to cut the water tention a bit faster

I had found diamond on my attic it was small i took a test try the flame and didn't do a damage and i try to see if its sinks and to my surprise its sank after i told my mom that i found a real diamond and he didn't believe me and he throw it anyways

I have had a customer bring in a stone that her dad found walking to work one day. He put it in his wife jewelry box. Year's later when his wife died he gave his daughter the jewelry box. She brought the loose stone to my store. It was real. A little over one ct diamond worth about $6,000

But I’ve also learned that a CZ that is the same size and cut of a diamond is actually heavier and weight, so why would it float and the diamond would sink?

I did this test side-by-side with a piece of crystal. The crystal sunk as well!. Also, how can you tell something is already in a setting?

This is not practical way to test . I am from 15 years in Diamond manufacturing business but still i can not separate Lab diamond from Natural diamonds through my scope. Because they are same.

It’s the reflection that shows the authenticity of the diamond. Not that it floats

It is not a floating thing. The back one is simply resting on the curve of the glass appearing higher. I have gone and researched the facts. Fake diamonds are slightly denser than real ones and will sink milliseconds faster than the real deal. Its a speed tention test. Fake diamonds cut through the water tension faster than real ones. Please dont try to educate people if you are going to missinform them and mix facts up. Your views and clicks are not worth 1000s+ people running around misinformed. People can get themselves into legal issues if they claim a fake real;sell it, and it gets found do be fake. If they charge over 100 for the 'real deal' they can end up in small claims courts or worse paying out way more than they got for the gem they sell. I also dabble my studdies in law. Be safe people!
